Here's what happened: **THE BAIT AND SWITCH:** After providing a quote of $802 (reduced to ~$640 with their email discount), Ram Driveway took my payment and scheduled the work. On the day of service, their employee arrived and claimed she "didn't have enough product to finish the job." No mention of any driveway condition issues whatsoever. The company then issued a full refund and refused to complete the work. **INCONSISTENT AND CONTRADICTORY EXPLANATIONS:** When I questioned this decision, the company completely changed their story. Suddenly it wasn't about having insufficient product - now they claimed my driveway was "too weathered" and needed replacement before sealing. This is particularly insulting because: - **They successfully sealed this exact same driveway in October 2022** - **The driveway condition is identical to what it was in 2022** - **Their own employee never mentioned condition concerns on-site** **NO ACTUAL INSPECTION CONDUCTED:** During our phone conversation, Scott explicitly stated that only he could make decisions about driveway conditions after conducting an on-site inspection. Yet he issued the refund and made this "condition-based" decision without ever inspecting the property himself. This directly contradicts their own stated process. **FINANCIALLY MOTIVATED DECISION:** While the company claims this was about "appropriate maintenance practices," the facts clearly indicate this was a financial decision. They likely underbid the project and decided it wasn't profitable enough to honor their quote. The timing of this decision - after payment was received and work was scheduled - is completely unprofessional. **ADDITIONAL INCONVENIENCES:** We power washed our driveway over the weekend specifically to prepare for their scheduled service, and we're leaving for vacation next week. Their last-minute cancellation means we'll have to take another full day upon return to clean and prepare the driveway again. **TO BE FAIR:** The company did state their concern was about not wanting to seal a driveway they believe needs repair rather than sealing. However, this explanation falls apart when you consider they sealed the same driveway successfully just 2.5 years ago under identical conditions. **BOTTOM LINE:** Ram Driveway Seal does not honor their quotes and will abandon projects when they realize they may have underbid. Their explanations are inconsistent and contradictory. I had my driveway sealed June 13, 2023. When I got home the driveway was not blocked-the pink ribbon had come off the wooden stake. Cigarette butts were in my lawn and on the street. Then, when I called about sealer on my concrete at the garage and front step , they said someone would be out in a week to look at it. No one came. I called again, same response from them. No one came , no message. I called again and they said someone came and had left me a voice mail . I received no voice mail .RAM said the sealer was left over from 2005 when I last had it sealed by another company. I highly doubt that.. Then the note of the door left June 13 the day of sealing said something like "tips appreciated". I think that is unprofessional. I would not use them again. read more

I have used this company for the better part of 18 years. They tried to bait and switch me today- have new people working there. We made appointment and paid in advance and they showed up and said we needed more work done. Referred be to another company-told me I needed about $6-10,000 in work done. Guess what? I recently hired RAM to seal my driveway, The driveway was in good shape as it was only 18 months old. The crew was friendly however they did an awful job. They did not pre-treat spots as the company website advertises, there were several spots missed, and worst of all, driveway sealant was tracked all over my yard and street. I took and sent detailed photos to RAM's operation manager to resolve the situation. Sadly after two weeks of phone calls and emails to the company, RAM has failed to fix the mess they have created. Had some of my property stolen after this company did work for me. I wouldn't trust them. With no "evidence" I have no case. I'm on a secluded street with a very private backyard. One way in one way out. Only people on the property were their employees and they "couldn't " do anything about it. I was charged the incorrect amount based on their promotional materials stating that I had a "guaranteed rate thru October 21, 2022". When I called to inquire about it, I was informed by a very rude woman on the phone that I was incorrect, then proceeded to rudely read me their terms of service. When I asked her where that was located on the email, she said it is on the flyer (which I didn't have), and it may not be on the email, but those are still the terms. Frankly, I was surprised at how rudely she was talking to me. I simply called to ask...when I told her I thought she was being rude and I would consider using another company in the future, she said "OK", and hung up the phone without waiting for any response. Later, I received a phone call from the service manager in the office telling me he was refunding the difference. I thanked him for the phone call and explained my earlier experience. He proceeded to tell me that he has never heard her be "anything but nice to people, and sometimes people's personalities "will out". Overall, I felt ok that he took the time to call me back and refunded the difference, he did support his employee...perhaps she was having a bad day, but overall appreciated the call. Much to my SHOCK, I then received an EXTREMELY RUDE email response from him, stating that he can "guarantee that his representative was more than nice" to me, and that saying someone "practically" hung up on me means they didn't hang up on me and if they did he is "nearly certain that she would have been justified in doing so"! He has one thing correct - I wasn't practically hung up on! In his definition, I WAS hung up on. And I can guarantee she WAS rude! I will also say he should be more in tune to their customer experiences because quick google search turned up many reviews also stating that they are unprofessional and rude. I did take the time to write a two page letter to the owner with no response to date - that was over 45 days ago. read more

I've been a customer for many years. Came hone to find this spot away from the driveway. Emailed customer service and their response was sometimes they need to lay down their tools. The 2 ladies RAM sent to seal my driveway did a VERY thorough and CONSCIENTOUS job. Very nice---you have to seal any cracks yourself with a trowelable asphalt sealer, or inquire to them about the MAC-S1 sand asphalt seal, then the MAC 45 sealer after that. The ideology today is that driveway cracks will just come back, so why seal. I don't buy that, I wanted the cracks sealed so I did it myself---THEN hire a VERY reasonable company like RAM to seal with their very good MAC sealer. read more

We were satisfied customers for five years, but last spring's application did not measure up to the previous years. Large areas throughout the drive had scaled and chipped away - and no change of traffic/cars on the drive from previous years. In April '22, when renewal time came, I responded to RAM via e-mail with my concerns and included photos of the driveway. No response at all. Today I talked with their on site employee who was handling a driveway nearby. I called to request the service and was immediately connected to an incredibly impatient and angry woman. She was instantly short and agitated by my use of improper terminology (make sure NOT to tell her you need your driveway repaired, she'll become livid and highlight the fact that it is SEALING). I was so excited to find a company and see their work in person - however after talking with her there's no way our family will use their company. I understand home improvement and construction is busy at this time, but there's no excuse for this type of behavior from an adult. I pity the owners: their representative is a horrid human (if she is the owner, she'll be running this business into the ground). There are tons of companies out there. I have used them 3 years now and each time they have been on time and done a great job. You can book on line, pay on line, and leave specific comments. They will give you a reminder call with instructions. They also give a follow up call for job satisfaction. They are also very reasonable. I live in Webster Groves. Ram has sealed my driveway probably 5 times, and just last week. They are reasonably priced and do a good job. They don't slop sealer around on parts of the area that shouldn't get treated which I appreciate. If you get on their email list with your address you may get a $10 discount when they are in your neighborhood doing work. And they are flexible , you can arrange dates ahead at your convenience. Used them about 3 years ago, they were sloppy, didn't go to the edge, painted on decorative rocks, so I called and complained and they came back and resealed it. Since then, I still get emails from them so I I decided to try them again. I booked online on a day they were to be in my neighborhood to save money. This morning, I got a confirmation voicemail they'd be here tomorrow. Just now, I got a phone call telling me they "could not seal my driveway". When pressed, the man said it was because they had problems sealing it in the past. I mentioned the previous issue, and he didn't confirm it. Use at your own risk. This is a very unprofessional "company". The front desk woman is extremely rude and unorganized. They took our payment weeks ago in May, but kept pushing it back - not due to weather the first time but due to their own issues with scheduling. The second time it was pushed back another week after we were on the schedule for that day (due to weather, when the following day was clear). When I asked a question about it I was snapped at and cut off, so I told her I'd like to cancel for a refund and she hung up on me. I would not recommend them. There are plenty of good driveway sealers out there (or it can be DIY as it doesn't take a lot of skill), and plenty of great people out there who want to work and treat people well. I had been getting notices from Ram for 4 years and thought this year I would give them a call. I checked Angie's list and their website to confirm if this was a company that was reputable. Great reviews some had issues but were resolved by Ram. Having owned my own business it is nice to give an honest and favorable review when earned and Ram certainly has earned it from me. I called to see if they were friendly and they are so I told the gentleman I was going to hang up and schedule on line to save $10. It was quick, easy and paid on line. Not happy! The workers were nice and friendly, and did their job, this review is for the company itself, not the workers who did the driveway. Ram lied about what they would be able to do with the driveway (fill cracks and holes), all they did was paint the driveway with sealer. The only reason they were hired was due to the fact they stated they would repair the driveway along with sealing. NOPE! Could have done it myself for a fraction of the price. Called the company (no one answers, you have to leave a voicemail when you get tired of waiting on hold, over 10 minutes in my case), they don't care that you're not happy, they have your money. They were very tidy in their workmanship and did not leave a drip on anything but the driveway asphalt. They initially bid our driveway on the high side as they did not realize half of our driveway was gravel. They were messy with their product! They had the sealer on my nice patio and walk way! They even got the sealer on my foundation around my garage area! They are messy and they don't care about your home. They did not clean the driveway that well before sealing! They also thin out the product and water it down to get business more often. I called and asked them to come out and clean up the sealer off my decorative areas and they would not fix what they created. Bad Business! Don't use this service. They do NOT fill in the cracks in the driveway. I unfortunately thought this was standard as the competitor has always done so in the past. Maybe misunderstanding on my end but after my job was completed I called to inquire. The woman was rude and I asked to speak to the owner. No one ever called me back. What they do promise in there written materials is to provide a follow-up call to ensure satisfaction. Not only did they not provide this call, they didn't call me back when I asked. What a scam! Ram this one! I hesitantly hired Ram due to a mailing offering me a $98 special. I am a professional engineer so I checked out their product they were going to apply and then called them to see if 1) they would be applying per the product manufacturer's recommendations (they didn't and would only do one coat versus the required two coats), and 2) would there be any mystery charges after they arrived to bait and switch their price, they assured me there would not be. I get a call while at work and they demanded $17 more because they felt my driveway was too new and may require MORE product. A newer driveway actually requires LESS petroleum product than an older one that has leached out into the sun. Nevertheless I told them do the job for the price you quoted or forget it. They said they would honor it. They didn't prepare the surface and lightly went over my driveway. It started popping the next day because of not preparing the driveway properly. The owner came out because of my call and he was inconsiderate and rude. Stating I should pay $17 more but he agreed to the original price as he said. He said he would fix the driveway and have someone call me to set this up. I did get a call from the same extremely rude and arrogant sales person DEMANDING $17 or they wouldn't fix my driveway because it was too new! He just kept repeating himself that I said I didn't have a driveway newly installed but the owner thinks you did, so he still wants more money even though he agreed to the original terms. "how would you like to pay for that sir?" over and over and over ...WOW! Is all I can say. I have never been treated so rudely or poorly by a company. Ram did an excellent job sealing my driveway! I have a concrete apron at the end of my driveway and a flagstone walkway that runs into the side of the driveway and they did a great job of cutting off the sealer at both points. Making the appointment and paying for it on line were extremely easy. They were also great about notifying me of postponement due to weather. To top it all off the price was right! They were decent, but seems like I need to have my driveway resealed each year. I've been told it is supposed to last longer than that.

This is our third year using Ram and we cannot say enough good things about their quality of service and price. I am not sure how they manage to keep the sealant out of our rock beds, yard, retaking wall, garage, etc., but never is there a mess for us to deal with and always picture perfect after they finish our 100 yard driveway in less than an hour. RAM Driveway Sealing is the worst in St. Louis. The owner actually told me that he was the largest in St. Louis and he was not concerned that he did a horrible job. They had to come out 3 times to fix the poor job. tThey never really fixed and hey do not know the meaning of customer service. They even seal over worms and other dead bugs.
