Stopped up tub.
Maria R.

This hotel needs major upgrades. The tub was stopped up. Kinda gross when you want to take a shower after leaving a concert late at night. There was also clear duct tape peeling off the ceiling. The iron needs to be replaced and the toilet was not cleaned properly. See pictures and proceed with caution. In the morning I told my husband about the experience and he spoke with the manager. The manager informed him that I should have said something when I got there and they could have fixed the issues. The problem was my kid and I didn't have enough time to look around when we got there. We had to leave to attend a concert. All these issues were discovered when we arrived later that night. Oh well, lesson learned on my part. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I will say that we slept pretty good.

PROs- location , room was ok CONs - no free breakfast , 10$ parking fee !!! No good restaurant inside .. Had been to a cricket match in NC and booked a room here , to be close to the ground . Location wise it was good . Lots of shopping options near this hotel. There is a mall right opposite to the hotel . Rooms were good . Nice and spacey .. restrooms were neat and clean. Came believe they charge 10$ for parking ! Have never ever paid for parking in my life , especially when it is an open parking which adds dust to ur car.. it's not even crowded . My car was one of the 10 other cars in the huge parking lot , which is outside the hotel . And no free breakfast for a 150$ hotel ! There were so many other restaurants nearby that gave free breakfast . There is not even a good restaurant/ food spot inside the hotel . Quite disappointed with Marriott on this . Thought of giving a 2 star but gave 3 because of the location and bar service .

Just checked in to this hotel and this is the state the room is in! Stains on the floor, nothing has been cleaned, torn furniture! Service seems very kind, no offer of a room change though so we will be sleeping here like this for the weekend. Never seen a room in this state upon check in. Here for a wedding and will update full review once we check out

Enjoyed this hotel for a one-night weekend stay. I think there's probably been a fairly recent renovation, as the lobby looks new and the carpets in the hallways throughout are in very good shape. The lobby bar was pretty hopping on a Saturday night and the servers kept up well. I liked the room fine. It was a bit of a smaller footprint than most of this class of Marriotts, but the space was used well. The bathroom was regular size and the sleeping area was slightly condensed. One thing I really liked as a leisure traveler was that the desk was smaller and left room for both a chair and a love seat in the sitting area. A pop of color is provided by the teal headboard with a stylized old-time map of North Carolina. Sheets and mattress were average, but comfortable enough. I liked the modern-feel trapezoidal shelving unit as a distinctive design piece. If you were staying more than a couple of days, you might find the closet and drawer space lacking. Anything you could possibly want or need can be found across the street at Crabtree Valley Mall. One note -- the parking at the mall is a nightmare, so if you are willing and able to brave crossing Glenwood Avenue, it might be easier to go on foot.

Decent hotel. Across from mall. Classmates room. Enough outlets. Good size. Streaming. Comfy bed. Great black out curtains. No issues. Food and drinks expensive.

We stayed overnight in this hotel recently. It's in the perfect location right across the street from Crabtree Valley Mall & there's easy access to I-440. Anything you could want is probably nearby. The staff was ok. The cleanliness of the room was another story. It was dirty and dusty. Stains. Dirty clothes left behind. Dirty stained tub. JUST GROSS!!!! I couldn't wait to get out of there. There was as no microwave either; only a mini-fridge. That made it hard to bring leftovers back from dinner across the street that needed to be warmed up. They have a gym and pool that we didn't get to utilize. There was a huge wedding party staying there when we were there, so every area was packed. I didn't feel like being around all of those unmasked people. All in all, if I'm in a pinch and there's nothing else available, I may stay there. It definitely wouldn't be my first choice though.

Located on Glenwood Ave across from Apple Crabtree Valley Mall. It has a good location also not far from the Raleigh airport. The rooms were decent size and clean. Refrigerator and coffee machine but no microwave. They have large shampoo and conditioner bottles which saves plastic and good for the environment. Their fitness center has enough equipment to get a decent workout (see photo). There was leg extension, leg curls, pull-ups machine, pull downs, and bench machine. Two benches that move to incline. Some kettle bells. About 5 treadmills and some exercise ball with two bikes. The ballroom was good size. The internet seemed to cut out at times which was annoying. No view from the room we were in. We could only see the top of part of the hotel. They do have a breakfast buffet for $22. It is similar to the free buffets you get at La Quinta and other hotels. But this buffet does not have pancakes or waffles. Definitely not worth $22. The eggs were pretty dry and the sausage was below average.

Been to many Marriott's throughout the years, as I am a Bonvoy credit card holder Marriott's are usually my to go hotel. This hotel in particular is excellent, from great customer service, to the cleanliness of the hotel it def is a great thing. I had the pleasure of dealing with Daniel what a great guy! He'd be running this hotel and not only the front desk. You can easily see when someone got skills! I had a great stay here and will definitely be back and also recommend this hotel to my friends. Fantastic job Marriott! Oh the bar was open with social distancing being enforced. There's also the outside area. Really good location too :)

Had a great time and very clean. Friendly staff for the most part. There was a inappropriate spoken incident by the staff that was quietly taken care of with embarrassment on both parties. Rooms clean and nice. Still adhere to covid rules People complaints about towels, our tv stopped working found out it needed to be reset. Those issues were fixed right away. Love the the way the shower shampoos were on the wall. Loved the pool area. Plenty of parking a mall across the street. For the club hoppers down the street.l lots of trees and plants no smoking rules but for those who do it was a space for them. Breakfast was ok except I guess they were pancakes and strawberries and french toast was hard as a rock. Everything else was ok. Variety of things to eat from the buffet or you could order from menu. They had a washer and dryer and gym. Lounge and bar area. Plenty of conference. Rooms. Check in out were easy. Big windows comfy beds. Just not enough drawer space for two bed room. Lovely. Place

Planning couldn't have been easier- our coordinator was very easy to reach and always quick with an answer with any questions we had. The venue is charming and the roof top view is stunning. We chose to have a "Before They Say I Do BBQ" and the deck provided a nice space to set up stations for our caterer. The list of vendors provided by Empire Eats made providing linens and any items needed easy to set up. The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. Be sure to ask in advance for a cart and it will be provided. Also, if you're having a summer event, know that it can be very hot. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

Compared to a restaurant where you typically have to have a food minimum, at Nest you only have to play a flat fee. The staff come out and help you with load in and set up, then they take care of clean up. From the moment I reached out with interest, Michael was amazing. He was very thorough in his explanation of all of the offerings, and when I actually needed to change my date he was flexible. Day of, Michael came out to also help us with set up. The space was absolutely beautiful and really doesn't need much additional help in terms of decoration. It was sufficient amount of space for the amount of people we had, plus there was space to put out the food, as well as a fridge for our drinks. They really had everything we needed. One thing I will make note is that this space is in the heart of downtown. When there are festivals in DTR, Fayetteville street is closed, which may confuse some of your older party guests. It ended up being fine because there was still plenty of parking and then our guests got to attend a street festival after the early morning party, but just something to be aware of. Overall, I will be recommending Nest to anyone who is looking for a meeting/party/event space rec.

Extended Version: I was married at The Carolina Inn in May and I had the absolute privilege of working with Gina from A Southern Soiree. When you book a ceremony at The Carolina Inn, they include day-of coordination with one of the area wedding planning companies as a part of the package (amazing deal - everyone should get married at The Carolina Inn). Having seen A Southern Soiree in TONS of blogs and websites, I asked right away if I could work with them for my wedding. I ended up working with Gina, and based on my contract with the venue, assumed that we would just meet a couple of times to cover the basics and that Gina would primarily just be there to support the actual wedding day. I could not have been more wrong, in all the right ways! Gina was an absolute dream to work with and well exceeded my expectations throughout the wedding planning vision. She helped so much throughout the planning process. She was also professional, quick to respond to emails, had great ideas for my wedding day, and has such a great personality - I had so much fun at all of our meetings! When the day of the rehearsal dinner came, I had everything packed in my car and drove over to the venue, starting to feel overwhelmed with pre-wedding stress. As soon as I parked my car at the valet, Gina and her assistant were there coordinating getting my car unloaded. I gave Gina a rundown on what I had in all the boxes and where it needed to go, and she took over from there. There was no stressing out about setting out favors, making sure programs made it to the ceremony, etc. because Gina had it 100% taken care of. At the rehearsal dinner I was feeling overwhelmed, and Gina's assistant stood there with a glass of water for me the whole time just in case I needed it. They wanted to do whatever they could to make sure they day was stress free and that everything was wonderful. Gina and her assistant were like magical wedding planning fairies the day of the wedding making sure that everything was executed flawlessly. Before the wedding, people told me to mentally prepare myself for "something" going wrong, but when the wedding day came...nothing went wrong. Literally, everything was perfect, and I'm sure it was because I was so fortunate to have A Southern Soiree there to cover all the details. Even my father-in-law the day after the wedding could NOT stop talking about how amazing Gina and her assistant were. He was still in a state of disbelief over how they were able to pull everything off so perfectly. You can't go wrong choosing them as your event planning company and I would definitely recommend them to all of my friends and family.

The extra secret, private room is located upstairs in The Big Easy, down a back hallway through an ominous door labeled "staff only". This isn't a space that you can just walk into (now that you know where it's located), rather it's a private venue space, charging $300/6 hours on Fridays and Saturdays with a $500 minimum bar tab and $100/6 hours Sunday-Thursday with a $300 minimum bar tab. The small space includes a New Orleans voodoo theme complete with voodoo dolls and bare breasted fortune tellers (in photos). Your party is invited to enjoy the velvet couches and hairs artfully placed around the room and has access to a private bar (and bartender). I love the back wall, with photo windows viewing Salisbury Street and a huge wooden bench seat. Rebecca and her husband Steve, the owners of The Big Easy, created this space to throw a rocking New Years Eve party, and they're inviting locals to use it during the year. Rebecca hired a fortune teller for our VIP night, but options are practically unlimited for what you want to bring in (bachelorette party strippers?!) The room is pricy to rent, but the intention is to get in a "classier" group of people that will keep the space up (however, there's definitely room for a dance party in the room, think old Bee Hive tightness). The best part: that VIP feeling as you are personally led up to the room by a manager, it was VERY speakeasy and secretive!

I had seen an ad on FB for an event sponsored by Fever. It was a Halloweenish event so it looked liked something different to do to kick off Oct. Tickets have to be bought a head of time for a specific date & time. Chairs are set up in a dimly lit room with a bookshelf cabinet as the main focal point which was on the opposite end of the chairs. The bookshelf had spooky looking objects on it. Through out the hour & 1/2 of the show, you are given 4 different cocktails while one at a time a group of 5 adults take turns telling a ghost story as the others serve the coctails. Unfortunately The drinks were a bit watered down and didn't seem like they actually had alcohol in them. The drinks seemed random which I think it would make more sense if they matched the stories somehow or at least were in the actual story. The storytellers were dressed to match the spooky mood and some did better than others. I thought they were going to be Raleigh ghost stories and maybe they were but there wasn't enough local knowledge in the stories. Not sure if the event was worth the cost but it was something different. After the show the adults told the audience that their group of 5 does it all:sets the stage, does the lighting, the music, decorates, makes the drinks, serves them & provides the entertainment. After I heard this I have to admit I definitely felt ok paying the cost for the event. If you like local theater, this is a great idea for something different to do on a weekend night.
