Beware, unless you want to risk being out of a few thousands of dollars visited! I visited this car lot a couple of days ago. I saw they had some poor reviews about not being too honest but against my better judgment, I stopped to look for an old work car. A dirty, drunken looking salesperson came out all giddy and I told him I'd like to test drive a car. He cranked it and I immediately heard it had some sort of air leak under the hood. The salesperson said it was nothing because it quiets down eventually. I drove the car about 2 miles up the road and the check engine light came on and stayed. When I got back, I asked about the check engine light. The dirty, drunken looking salesperson pretended he didn't see it and told me no light was on. I pointed it out. He still said it's nothing because it passed inspection. I asked to have a diagnostic test run on it with an obd scanner. He summoned a fat guy with glasses, who was losing his hair. This guy brings an obd scanner and PRETENDS to run it on the car. He leaned into the car for about 30 seconds and stood up and told me it was a minor evap leak and I shouldn't worry. I asked what the actual code was that showed and this guy did everything he could not to answer my question. I kept asking and he said he had already unhooked it,so he didn't know the code. I insisted he hook it up again and let me see. He refused and told me that he could go on Google and find code. (How would Google know what was wrong with this car on this lot?) I assured him that I was a female but not a dumb one! Then he told me that his obd scanner didn't show codes and that it only showed the words, telling what the problem was and it said small evap leak that was probably just the gas cap. After the fat guy refused to hook his obd scanner up to the car, I pulled my own out and told the dirty looking guy to hook it up because he was trying to block me from getting in the car when he saw what I had by going and jumping in the car and getting in the way. The fay guy became disgusted and walked away. The dirty, drunken looking salesguy then, proceeded to tell me that obd scanners wouldn't work on that car because it was too old. I guess he forgot his boss just said he hooked his up and got a message about an evap code. I mentioned my concern that it would break down not long after buying it if I bought it. The dirty, drunken looking salesperson said all of their cars come with a 90 day warranty, so no worries. He then, went on to rattle about the reliable engine and so forth. We walked up to the office and with the car's problems, I asked them to come down on the price. The fat guy refused but said he could try to finance a small portion but that was it. I mentioned the 90 day warranty that I was told about outside. The fat guy said that it didn't exist, no warranty on that car but I should just trust him and take his word. I told him I didn't know him to trust his word and I refused to pay the price, citing the car was priced over it's value, had problems, and judging from their reviews and ratings, some end up with useless cars from them lost money, and having been lied to. The dirty and drunken looking salesman, asked me where I saw bad ratings for them because they had a perfect 5 rating. I told him I saw the same on more than one site. He jumped up with his phone in his hand and tried to scroll quickly past their 3.8 rating and scroll to positive reviews. I made him slow down and began to show him multiple negative reviews that were saying people had the same experience I was going through then and they ended up buying a bad car and/or being grossly lied to and left holding the bag. He got very mad and told me he didn't have time to mess with me and I should have a good day. I'm a person that tries to see things for myself and give people a chance. At Raleigh Imports, I was shown that their cars are junk, they're VERY dishonest, and care nothing about what they sell you. If you have an ounce of sense, they get pissed off! I warn whomever reads this to pass this car lot by or chances are good that you may regret it! read more
