Butter Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Tikka Masala.
Rob H.

I've always liked Rajdoot, it has been one of my go to places for indian food since I've lived in the area for the past several years. Typically will order through skipthedishes and the food always arrives piping hot. I tend to think it tastes better left over. I've tried most of the things on the menu and haven't really had many complaints. This most recent order I just went with some safe choices since my girlfriend is new to indian food. Ordered the Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Vindaloo. The Vindaloo is always my favorite and it seemed to be hers as well. As long as the food quality stays the same I will remain a repeat customer for years to come.

I am afraid I wasn't very impressed with this restaurant, so unimpressed that I had even forgotten I had a meal here months ago. In fact I only realised it when I passed the exterior the other day. The service person was aloof and although the restaurant was empty he didn't seemed that excited to have clients. He nonchalantly cast menus at us and casually informed us about a buffet that wasn't even prepared yet. So we decided to share two dishes from the menu and I believe one was a spinach dish and the other a chicken curry but both dishes were so small and so tasteless, I actually have no memory of them to comment about it here. I just remembered the huge price tag at the end, for the drinks, naan and basmati rice. So once again to reiterate, indifferent service, small portions and heavily priced For good Indian food downtown, please make your way to the unbelievable lower priced heavenly dishes at Mirchis, across from Safeway. Refer to my past review.

Great food. I loved it, especially the times I didn't find a piece of plastic in my pakoras.

Horrible service. Asked to change up the order and they cancelled it just because I asked to change it. Never getting delivery again.

Best Indian cuisine in Calgary. I tried it once and have never gone back to any other Indian restaurant.

It is quite…read morenew, having opened sometime in 2023 (I think) but judging by its other reviews it has already made quite the impression on those who've found it. Upon taking a quick, curious look online at this place after my first meal, I was surprised to find that this place is not (yet) regarded in discussion about Calgary's finest Indian restaurants, as the meal I'd enjoyed had easily suggested that to me. From my perspective, the name of this business is exactly the service it provides. I did not recognize much of the menu outside of what is normally on an Indian restaurant in North America, aka about 50%. I used Google for a lot of the dishes because I've only ordered online, but other reviews have said that the staff are very friendly and are happy to take any questions. It is consistently amazing, quality food at a reasonable price. The menu is large but doesn't seem to buckle under its size whatsoever, everything I've had had been wicked fresh, implausibly flavourful and impeccably quality. I hope this place finds a lot of success! It is still young but I believe it has the makings of a legend among Calgary restaurants. Take the Passage.

Monday night dinner. It was great. First thing I will stress is that this is a modern take or…read moreIndian fusion. Great place to come if you are ok with that. Hugo stepped in and helped since our primary server was busy. He did an amazing job and made sure our experience was top notch. I started with the wicket looking for a spicy and sweet cocktail. It was ok, the garlic chili oil was a bit strong and took over the rest of the flavors. I wanted wine with the meal and Hugo went above and beyond. He brought out 3 recommendations with healthy sampler pours as well as the bottle to take pictures if I liked one of them. His choice of the riesling was spot on. It was not too sweet as I asked and had some earthy notes to it. He had the lamb kati and curry and chips for an appetizer. The lamb kati was outstanding. The ground lamb was cooked perfect with a hint of spice and flavored very well. We got chicken on the curry and chips. That was also very good, my only feedback was the chicken although flavored well was just a touch dry (would probably do the ground lamb next time). For diner we both had the lamb entree with a side of basmati rice and naan. The entree was outstanding, the lamb had a nice salt and pepper crust with great flavors. The naan was soo good, I called them elephant ears because of the size. They were flavored so good. We did not let a drop of the rogan josh sauce got to waste. Even though full we tried a bite of their deconstructed cheesecake type dessert. It was refreshing and lightly sweet. A tasty bite. Great experience, great food and even better service.

We came during lunch time and there was quite a bit of space, so we were able to be seated quickly. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated, with an ambience that would be good for hosting events. For the food we decided to order the Chili Chicken, a Kati Roll with Lamb Keema, and chicken. I think that the food here was flavored well and I especially enjoyed the Kati Roll as the paratha was really crispy. The portions are a bit on the smaller side though, especially for the price of each dish. Overall, I think it's a nice restaurant to have Indian food at if you're visiting Calgary.
