I picked the Alu Mattar, which I've eaten at multiple Indian restaurants and even had a poor attempt at making myself.

Meanwhile this brings me to my next question, which is, what's better than discovering that there is an Indian place just 5-minutes away? I would say an Indian place that lives up to desired expectations, and is cheaper than the standard counterpart. I don't mean to go all Bollywood on you, but Goodwood Tandoori- Shil nzhoo! I love you! My boyfriend and I rocked up here after we craved food, and wanted to remain in close proximity to my house when it came to devouring it. We would have dined within the premises however we arrived after they had technically shut. Luckily, and as already implied, they also cater for take out. Its headquarters are not the most fancy of Indian restaurants, however you don't exactly go to Goodwood road to dine 5 stars do you now? Especially when there is a Barnacle Bills in the same mini complex of shops. The food is prepared quickly, and in my experience, I couldn't fault it. New discoveries such as these make me happy. I can't really explain it. We ordered spicy (well, spicy to me) chicken curries, which were a good serving size and smelt delicious. All up two curries, adequate rice, garlic yogurt and a couple pappadums set us back just twenty-two bucks. Not bad. The final test of judgement was the most important, the taste test. Thankfully this was enough to seal the deal and the bf and I remained pretty thrilled with the results. Two happy chappies. Good work Goodwood Tandoori, oh and thanks for the junk mail.

This was our scond visit to this Indian eatery…read more Positives: Attentive staff. Clean presentation. Acceptable price. Wine was nice. The Kashmir nan was spot on. So often these are soggy sugar-stuffed or honey-drizzled coconut-smothered and sickening. The rice was perfect. I mean can rice not be? Well this rice was fab. I opted for the lamb vindaloo as I like a good punch to my spice. It kicked like a mule. In fact I asked for a little yogurt just to occasionally cool my palate. Perfect. Just what I like. Not like other pathetic offerings I have elsewhere. My partner opted for the chicken korma. She loved it. There was plenty of chicken in there too. Negatives: The setting is a little compact. Not sure why we were seated immediately next to others when there was plenty of room. Mixed pakora included one prawn and too many onion fragments. The accompanying small salad was tired. The menu is somewhat limited but what is there is fair enough. We haven't tried the takeaway offerings yet so I can't comment. Definitely worth a try and better than other Indian restaurants in this area. We will call again.

I have been to the Chefs of Tandoori more times than I can count on two hands…read more The thing that stands out most about Chefs of Tandoori is the freshness and lightness of the curries. I would consider them the healthiest Indian restaurant in the area. The usual curries like Rogan Josh are not as oily. My favourite curries are the goat curry and the Fish Kerala. Whilst the fish has been fried lightly in batter, you don't get a heavy oily feeling after eating it. The fish is served in a mild curry that is lightly creamy. I also love the Okra Dopiaza here. The Kashmiri Pulao is one of the lightest and isn't overly oily as well. I also recommend the prawn curry though there could be more prawns in each serve. Whilst the prices are just marginally a little more, you pay for the quality. This joint is my go-to takeaway when it's been a busy week and I'm still trying to eat 'right'. I love the service and ambience here as well. They remember you! If you order takeaway via their app you get a discount. Also you can get a cheap glass of wine whilst you wait for your takeaway.

Situated in an unassuming shopping block, only a couple of doors down from one of the best Chinese places in town, Zafran Curry Delights is one of my absolute favourite take away places. And they are open until 10.30pm for your after hours noms. By the time you phone in your order, put pants on and drive there your food is ready!! As creatures of habit (and mediocre cheap skates) we tend to order the 'you and me' deal, which comfortably feeds myself and my garbage-desposal-stomached partner for dinner *plus* lunch the next day. Included for the low price of thirty five bucks you get two mains, a large rice, 2 plain naan, a couple of pappadams and either a serve of chicken tikka or sheekh kebab. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHOOSE THE TIKKA!! Of all the things that have been done to chicken this is by far my favourite, it's juicy and tasty and I could eat a bucket of it. Our usual mains are the beef vindaloo, which they will make extra spicy for you if you ask, and the chicken tikka marsala (which does have a small surcharge if you're getting the meal deal). Eat here. That's about it.

My partner gets the vindaloo and he raves and raves about it. The meat is always so tender and never over cooked. A large rice is more than enough and plenty leftover the next day for lunch! The naan is the best naan I've ever eaten! I love it!! They have changed their name to namaste curry delight now (well on eat now anyway) Do it! You won't regret it!

The main dining room is in a basement off Hindmarsh Square. The surrounds are elegant, avoiding any kistch Indian decorations in favour of large artworks of local artists. It is not uncommon for Jasmin to be booked out on Saturday and Sunday, so it's safest to book for your number. While it is on the pricey side, it appeals to diners who love good quality food and wine. The wine list has over 200 options, as well as a good range of beers, spirits, aperitifs and dessert wines. The banquet is a great option, and I recommend it to friends. It consists of five or more entrees, and another five or so main meals. It means you get to try a range of dishes, when it's hard to choose just one. The prawn sambal is always a stand out, but (and I sound like a typical Westerner here) my favourite is the butter chicken. But no, really, it's amazing! They spice it differently, so while it's not hot, it's full of flavour, and the pieces of chicken are enormous and juicy. Every time we go there, there has to be some butter chicken on our table. If undertaking the banquet, when the small bowls of curry come out, you think you've been jipped. Try getting through just one, and you're filling up. Then add the several types of naan (the best are the blue cheese naan and the standard cheese naan) and papadums with chutney and raita, and it's rare to see anyone get through the entire banquet. You groan when the dessert menus come around, though it's worth ordering a coffee or tea, just for the delicious hazelnut/chocolate slice that come with it - one for every table member! I was disappointed that their chai is not authentic, but it's still a nice blend of tea, and a great way to finish an enormous and very tasty meal.

My buddy got the chicken tindaloo and it was one of the spiciest dishes either of us have ever tasted. The naan was also quite good and they have kingfisher beer.
