I must confess, the reviews on here did make me a *tad* apprehensive about trying Charminar ... but I am a realist. I wasn't expecting the best Indian feast of my life, and I wasn't expecting it to be 100% authentic. If you go with that attitude, you will really enjoy it here ;)
Lucky we booked, as it was pretty busy for a Tuesday night! Staff were very attentive, and our orders were taken after a very short wait (but long enough for us to decide). We ordered Onion Bajji and Lentil Pakoras for entree - both were delicious and very filling! For main I had the Rogan Josh (which was melt-in-your-mouth and a bit spicy without being overwhelming), rice and papadums. My partner had the Navratan Korma, a vegetarian dish that wasn't really my thing, but she really enjoyed it.
We had this entire meal (plus a cider/beer each) for around $66 - now that is real value for money! The food was delicious and we walked out stuffed to the gills ;) The service was excellent too, with the staff being attentive without being overbearing and food came out quickly (but not too quickly).
Charminar is great for what it is - a 'franchise' Indian restaurant. And yes, we'd love to come back here again ;) read more
