Meanwhile this brings me to my next question, which is, what's better than discovering that there is an Indian place just 5-minutes away? I would say an Indian place that lives up to desired expectations, and is cheaper than the standard counterpart. I don't mean to go all Bollywood on you, but Goodwood Tandoori- Shil nzhoo! I love you! My boyfriend and I rocked up here after we craved food, and wanted to remain in close proximity to my house when it came to devouring it. We would have dined within the premises however we arrived after they had technically shut. Luckily, and as already implied, they also cater for take out. Its headquarters are not the most fancy of Indian restaurants, however you don't exactly go to Goodwood road to dine 5 stars do you now? Especially when there is a Barnacle Bills in the same mini complex of shops. The food is prepared quickly, and in my experience, I couldn't fault it. New discoveries such as these make me happy. I can't really explain it. We ordered spicy (well, spicy to me) chicken curries, which were a good serving size and smelt delicious. All up two curries, adequate rice, garlic yogurt and a couple pappadums set us back just twenty-two bucks. Not bad. The final test of judgement was the most important, the taste test. Thankfully this was enough to seal the deal and the bf and I remained pretty thrilled with the results. Two happy chappies. Good work Goodwood Tandoori, oh and thanks for the junk mail.

Situated in an unassuming shopping block, only a couple of doors down from one of the best Chinese places in town, Zafran Curry Delights is one of my absolute favourite take away places. And they are open until 10.30pm for your after hours noms. By the time you phone in your order, put pants on and drive there your food is ready!! As creatures of habit (and mediocre cheap skates) we tend to order the 'you and me' deal, which comfortably feeds myself and my garbage-desposal-stomached partner for dinner *plus* lunch the next day. Included for the low price of thirty five bucks you get two mains, a large rice, 2 plain naan, a couple of pappadams and either a serve of chicken tikka or sheekh kebab. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHOOSE THE TIKKA!! Of all the things that have been done to chicken this is by far my favourite, it's juicy and tasty and I could eat a bucket of it. Our usual mains are the beef vindaloo, which they will make extra spicy for you if you ask, and the chicken tikka marsala (which does have a small surcharge if you're getting the meal deal). Eat here. That's about it.

My partner gets the vindaloo and he raves and raves about it. The meat is always so tender and never over cooked. A large rice is more than enough and plenty leftover the next day for lunch! The naan is the best naan I've ever eaten! I love it!! They have changed their name to namaste curry delight now (well on eat now anyway) Do it! You won't regret it!

We ordered what would probably be the most standard dishes (none of us were into hot spice). It was cooked on time and still piping hot when we got it home. The food in general was great and I would have rated this 4 stars, but it was the little things that deflated my excitement. The papadams were a little over cooked, as were the samosas. Even though we had ordered two serves of the samosas, we only received one mint sauce and we all know that the mint sauce isn't big enough (no matter where you go) to split between four people. All that being said, I would definitely order from there again and slink back to my home to eat it. They did have a nice 'dine in' area so maybe next time I will try that....maybe then I can have all the mint sauce I want!

Google what else is in the area? If you answered #4 you are right and win the prize. Our Google session turned up a trove of potential dinner spots. We settled on Delhi Spice because we felt like Indian and it had overwhelming positive reviews elsewhere on the net--but not on Yelp due to a few people's average experiences. What was our experience? Good. Really good. - The restaurant is a bit "rough around the edges" but has charm nonetheless. We didn't dine in, though it may have been nice. Instead we opted for takeaway with the view of eating it at Brighton. Until we got to the car and realised we didn't ask for any cutlery. Home it was... - The staff were super dooper friendly. - The food: Y.U.M. I opted for the Aloo Matar. I have never tasted a more complex and well-balanced Indian sauce. It was alive in my mouth, ticking boxes like a curry possessed. There was fennel, acid--as though they read my mind and gave it a clever squeeze of lemon juice right at the end--and just the right amount of heat--which, for a vegan curry in Australia means *some* heat; why are we so afraid? - Prices: so so cheap. Dinner for two including 2 cans of soft drink for less than $25. VF - Ask and you will be handsomely catered for.
