Their customer service is exceptional! I accidentally sent the flowers to myself instead of my daughter so I sent an email and they responded immediately and fixed it. Unfortunately, the flowers and other gifts i sent from the shop never arrived. Once again, they responded to my email promptly with the a picture of the delivered flowers. it turns out they were stolen from my daughter's stoop. The flower shop again replied to me asap and they offered me store credit for my difficulties. The Flower Station was under no obligation to do anything as they completed their delivery. They were kind and polite the entire time. The flowers were delivered today and they are gorgeous! They have a wide range of prices and every picture shown is lovely. Best part, the flowers look just like the pictures!! I can assure you that you will NOT be disappointed when you order from the Flower Station. I wish I had a florist just like them here in the States.

This part of the pavement is quite roomy (I know, a weird thing to mention!) but I do so because it's nice to note you won't be getting run over by commuters while trying to select your flowers. Anyone that's braved this stretch of Moorgate during rush hour will understand what I mean! Robust offerings, always packed with gorgeous arrangements ranging from small to quite large, hand ties, box bags, etc. I walk by several times a week and am always happy when I have the occasion to stop by and chat with one of the flower keepers. Some of the combinations can be a bit pricey but you are paying for the utmost in convenience and to be the hero, so that comes at a price, right? They normally have 5 salads on the go and you get to choose which ones you want in a box. I normally go for all five! It's much more interesting stuff than just lettuce, tomato,onion, cucumber - the salads often contain roast squash, gnocchi, seeds, lentils, broccoli and lots of other nutritious ingredients. I normally go for the large box (£5.95) but the medium (£3.95) should be enough for most people. They also do freshly made soup for £2.50, and a soup+medium salad combo for (£5.95). The people who run it are very friendly too. The only down side is that the salad is so good, by peak lunch time (1pm) the queue can be 10-15 mins long. I try to beat it by getting there at 12:15, but even this tactic doesn't always work.

Sticking to what I can understand, Cowling and Wilcox has a really nice card and gift selection with a bit more personality than anything you'll find in Clinton's. The writing sets are particularly stylish although they can be quite expensive. Similarly, they have a great selection of Moleskin diaries and books but these can cost anything upwards of £15. On the other hand they have a great selection of arty presents for kids which all seem very reasonably priced and a lot of fun too for that matter! I defy anyone to be too old for face-paints. Cowling and Wilcox is a lovely shop which is well worth a look around if you're in need of anything a bit arty or looking for a more personal present for that difficult someone.

It is a little on the expensive side, however the quality and quantity of supplies is impressive. Especially if it is a final year portfolio or important presentation. Getting a late start (compared to others), my walk from the Elizabeth Line to Colombia Road had me salivating; it seemed that everyone coming in the opposite direction held beautiful bouquets, thriving houseplants, or both. Later in the day people were leaving with their arms so full of oversized greenery that watching them navigate their way down the street was comical. So: the prices are great, the selection is astounding, and everything looks fresh and heathy. Only a city with a population the size of London could pull off such a great and bustling flower market. Getting here is a cinch on the new Elizabeth Line and the route from there to Columbia Road is well-marked. The market theoretically closes at 2 p.m. but many sellers were still hawking discounted product past that time. Come early or late, but do come. It's a crowded, colorful experience for which America really has no equivalent.
