I have been wanting to try this place for a while- after going in today I will never go back.
It had been raining, and I was wet and cold. I went in, and as the girl there ignored me, asked "Hi, are you still open?"
She made a reluctant face and nodded and said "Ummm". I guess they were just about to close?
I pointed to the flowers I wanted, and asked for "These blue ones and these orange ones, please."
She pulled a straggly handful of blue flowers out with some white ones together, gathered up the rest of the blooms, and went over to start wrapping them, but got sidetracked by a long conversation with her colleague about why the till wouldn't balance, while I stood and dripped and shivered and dodged out of the way of the other staff coming in and out of the shop (who didn't bother to say "excuse me", just barged past me).
As she started to put the white flowers in, I asked her if she would mind not putting them in, that I'd like to keep it to blue/orange, so she nodded, and just put the white ones aside. She didn't replace them with blue ones. I just got less flowers.
It cost me £25 for a tiny, skimpy bouquet which was mostly a single hydrangea.
She didn't use any ferns or green leaves, just wrapped up the flowers I'd asked for in a bunch and handed them to me, chatting to her colleague all the time.
There was no choice of wrapping material- she did not consult me at any time as to how I would like them arranged- not only did she barely speak to me, she hardly looked at me.
I'll stick to Rebel Rebel in Broadway Market after this- you get a lot more, and they treat you like a person. read more
