I wish that QCSS would get rid of this program and find a better one. This is a warning to all parents, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THETHE DISCOVERY LOUNGE BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. https://www.thediscoveryloungease.com/ The Director, Cynthia, charged me today (9/23/22) for the TDL  program, after stating that 9/16/22 would be the last time I would be charged, being that I removed my child from the program on 9/2/22 and he has not attended since. I removed my Kindergartener from the program after only about 2 and a half weeks because she contacted me several times for MINOR instances that should have been managed by the "highly trained" staff at the program. Cynthia contacted me with an attitude and a loud tone of voice and even made a personal attack on me verbally. I am a single, working mom and this has caused extreme stress, anxiety and frustration for me. I have to be the mother and the father for my child and I do discipline him and work with him as much as I can at home. I do my best to teach him proper behavior but he is a 5 year old at the end of the day. I truly feel that he was being ostracized and labeled in this program. It's like she was trying to get him out of the program instead of working with him. Some people do not need to work with kids. Cynthia's lack of professionalism has brought me nothing but distress that I am STILL dealing with it since I got charged AGAIN. I cannot afford to be charged for a program that I am not involved in. She has shown ZERO accountability for overcharging me. No empathy at all. I would recommend that people STAY AWAY from this program unless you want to deal with a constant struggle, being contacted at work every day for the smallest things, being personally judged and attacked. Hopefully no other parents have to deal with what I have been through.

This is a new location so they had some availability. My first impression was the the parking,…read morethere's not much available. And you park in the back where the outdoor play area is located...which to my dismay looks more like a dog park. It was dark, not much grass and didn't seem like a very clean and well maintained area. However, they did confirm the kids mostly walk to the nearby school playground. I walked to the front of the building which faces the busy street, and was able to open the door and walk in. YES people, the DOOR WAS NOT LOCKED!! I was super disappointed since it faces a busy street and I was able to walk in and see the kids in the main area dancing to the music videos. I didn't have to sign in or anything. I was greeted and went to the tiny office where two people were crammed in. Once the tour started, more and more things happened. The lady continued to check and shut other doors to the outside....as they weren't closed all the way. But the final straw for me was when I was shown the infant room, it was in an enclosed room without a window to see inside. As the door opened there was a teacher sitting in a chair by the door just watching the babies on the floor play, while another changed a diaper and the room didn't smell fresh at all. But my question was "why is the teacher NOT on the floor engaging with the babies." When they opened the fridge where the bottles are kept, one fell out onto the floor and the cap came off. Okay, accidents happen, however they proceeded to put the cap back on and put it right back into the fridge. WHAT??? Didn't rinse it or clean off the bottle at all. I was over it at that point. Also, they do not have an app for parents to use. When I asked which ones they are considering they couldn't tell me any which tells me they weren't looking for one. It was a very manual process, you walk in, hand sign your child in/out. Maybe I'm spoiled but I want a digital sign in, pictures sent to me during the day, notifications of what my child ate, her diaper/potty breaks, etc. Needless to say, I didn't and wouldn't send my children to this facility. I was very disappointed. The staff was very nice, but there needs to be a lot of changes and updates. *Please note: This review is based strictly from the tour. I did NOT enroll my children at this facility.

We have had a great experience at LBA over the past two years! Ms. Shanna has been so kind and…read moreloving towards both of our girls! Out oldest daughter had so much fun and learned so much in her class. We were constantly blown away by the activities and learning that took place each week, and Ms. Shanna set the bar (unfortunately) high for every teacher we encounter in the future. Our daughter adores Ms. Shanna and still is comforted by her when she has tough moments at school. Our youngest hasn't made it to her class yet, but we are looking forward to when she gets to be in Green Frogs with her. Ms. Shanna loves on her during drop off and helps talk with her during tough moments during the day. She loves on both of our girls better than we could ask, and we are so grateful for her at LBA!

Everyone there, from admin to teachers have been so great, kind and caring. You can tell that the teachers really do care about the children and want them to learn and succeed, and that really leaves a lasting impression, especially for the kids. A perfect example of that is our son. He's no longer in Mrs. Shanna's class, but still anytime we do something fun with him, he wants to take a picture to show Mrs. Shanna or can't wait to go to class tomorrow so he can see Mrs. Shanna to tell her about something we did the night before. It makes us, as parents, feel good when we drop him off everyday to know that he loves being there, he's learning and being well taken care of.

Our kids love to go to school and our rising Kindergarten is more prepared to start school thanks to the amazing preschool curriculum than we could have ever imagined. They have good vibes. I have been very uneasy about choosing daycare again because you just never know. I love my child and I want the best for him. I think I got the best with this daycare. This is just his first week so I will follow up this review in a couple weeks and I hope to have an even better experience then. One thing that made me feel good about leaving him with the daycare is the teacher immediately got to eye level and spoke to him. She took time to introduce herself to us. And when we were leaving I saw her guide my child to the group of kids and sit with him. Patting him on the back and reassuring him so that he was comfortable. You can't fake compassion and this did it for me. I can tell he likes the teachers so far as he didn't burst out crying when I arrived. Kids have a way of communicating what they need for you to know and I know the signs to look for. I can't wait to see how his day was today. We rest assured knowing our girls are well cared for, treated with compassion, kindness, and consistently receive the attention they need. I particularly appreciate the high standards they maintain for hiring staff. They do a great job keeping the parents involved, whether it's with the various family events throughout the year or communicating via email/app. They always make themselves available for you if you want to discuss something. The owners, directors, and all the teachers are all so caring, and truly wonderful. We especially want to recognize Mrs. Stephanie and Ms. Civa. She is Simply Amazing She was patient and very helpful to my son. She took very great care of him. The service of the school is remarkable my son loves coming to school everyday.
