The living room which I'm starting with has never had any ceiling light fixtures installed. Above the living room is a crawl space but w/out access due to a low sloped roof. I'd purchased 7 can-less LED direct mount recessed lights and 3 dimmer switches that I needed an electrician to do rough-in wiring for which I plan to install myself then have inspected once the new drywall and new windows are installed. I saw Gary Rairdon's ad on Craigslist. He was friendly and helpful right away over the phone and we set up an appointment for the following week at 8 AM. He and his son arrived on time with face masks and were courteous. They listened attentively to the work I hoped for, asked a few questions so we were all on the same page with the specifics, then got to work. They wrapped up in a couple hours and accomplished exactly what I'd asked for without even needing to access the attic or shut off any circuits. Before leaving, I was given a quick run down of their wiring so I'd know what was what. They also tidied up the room then gave me the bill which I found very reasonable. I was happily satisfied with the service and quality of work I received from Rairdon Electric. I plan to use them for future electrical service needs and would recommend them to others.

He requested a time and materials contract. It was a mistake on our part to approve of a time and materials contract. The bill ended up exceeding what we would anticipating paying out of the largest outfits in town. The schedule slipped time and again, always for a different reason. The quality of work was the minimum possible to meet code. We have employees and vendors who reported Gary sleeping in his van at the jobsite on multiple occasions, or watching videos on his phone. Based upon our experience with Gary, we would not recommend him for additional jobs.

To top all of this off, today I had to file a dispute against him with my credit card, because he's as of yet refused to refund me the $750 deposit he made me give him. He pushed me repeatedly to pay him via venmo or cash and now I'm SO happy I didn't because you can't dispute those payment methods. In the end, I got a different company to do the work for $2000, a full grand less than Scott quoted and it was done cleanly, quickly, and without issue. I would be extremely wary of hiring this company, they do not have it together.
