I would like to update my review regarding Rainy Day. The tree I was talking about went into shock as it was a huge root ball that needed a crane to put in my backyard. Today May 4,2026 the river birch is outstanding and majestic. I just didn't give the tree enough time to acclimate. My husband and I had received several estimates for the landscaping of our nearly an acre back yard. They were all pretty close in price. A couple of them had a detailed design. When we first met Ron something just felt right. He never gave us a design plan and we let him have the job based on some ideas that he had in his head. Ron Schaffeld who owns Rainy Day irrigation and landscaping (208-407-5123) removed trees and bushes out of my yard. It was done in a few days time, he called the utility company to mark the lines, he came the day before removal to prep the areas and in a very short amount of time the trees were removed, they were carefully wrapped in soil/burlap, they filled the holes with soil and offered to place sod down. My mind is blown. All day long I'd recommend Ron and his team. IMHO it's nearly impossible to find that level of expertise and thoroughness! If you read this Ron, a million thanks. I simply didn't want pine trees in my yard and you made it such a good experience, you went above my expectations (tough to do). read more

Ron and his two guys are amazing! They went above and beyond to not only give us what we wanted but what we needed. Here's our story.....We just built a brand new home. So we needed a full sprinkler system for the backyard along with grass. He came by our house the same day I called and gave us a quote. He didn't just look at the yard and give us a Bs quote in 5 mins. He took the time to walk our half acre lot, assess the soil, and give us tips on what he thought would best for Our lawn. We knew after he left that out of all the companies we contacted to give us a quote. He was by far the best, because he took the time to listen to us and he truly cared. We ended up having the entire back yard Rototilled/ grated to prepare it for the quality sprinklers and drill seeding, new sod put in the front because the sod our builder put in died and the builder wouldn't replace it, plant trees. Along the way Ron and his guys came across a few issues that the builders landscapers messed up on as well. They fixed them and kept going. We were continued to be impressed. They are all very professional and respectful. Always cleaned up after themselves. They also moved a few trees for us and I bought a tree from Rons tree farm and they planted that as well. It looks the best out of all the trees! After they finished everything a couple of days ago. They came back by to check and noticed one of the sprinklers sprung a leak (it happens sometimes) instead of ignoring it and waiting for it to get worse. They fixed it right away. No extra cost. They are even gonna come by in a week or two and cut the grass for the first time. Just to make sure everything is taking and working properly. That's Great Customer Service!!! Rainy Day Irrigation was on it from the moment I called. Ron was very knowledgeable and helpful. His crew was on it as soon as they showed up. I had a bit a leak after they fixed and repaired my sprinklers due to grit and sediment in the system and Ron was able to stop by the day after to help me fix the issue within minutes. They are awesome and will be using them again for any thing that happens with my sprinkler system. read more

We used Ron last year and figured we'd use him again this year to blow out our sprinklers. He added us to his list and said that he'd be out Saturday or Sunday and he never showed. Not even a damn call that he'd not be able to make it or to reschedule. NOTHING!! We did however, find another company that actually showed up!! My wife called about firewood and was told very rudely by the owner Ron that she should have read the ad that they didn't deliver in our area. The ad did not say where they delivered. She replied back saying, he was being very rude and said we would go with someone else. Immediately, she received a text saying that she was the rude one. Then, she received another text saying, he would deliver free of charge to try to make amends, so she said "OK." One of the reasons she wanted this firewood was because the ad being referred to above said the firewood was on a pallet and shrink wrapped. When Ron arrived, he said that he didn't have a way to get the pallet off his truck so he would have to pull off the shrink wrap and just dump it where we wanted. Annoyed, we said "fine." We wanted it on our back patio. He did not want to take his big 4WD truck over our un-landscaped dirt because he was afraid of getting stuck. I told him, I would show him that my little car could do it without getting stuck. His reply, "My truck weighs a lot more than your car and I have a lot more experience." We told him to put it in our garage, and just before he dumped it on our concrete he held out his hand. My wife asked him, "Do you want gloves?" He said, "No, I want to get paid." Super annoyed now, I give him the check. He starts staring at the check in confusion and says, "I've never seen a check like this before." It looks like any other check I've seen, but I tell him, "We bank online." He dumps the firewood and then has the gall to say, "I notice you have a lot of landscaping to do, here is my card." After he leaves, our painters come out and help us without us asking to move the firewood to our back porch. Props to the painters! We gave them a nice tip! read more

I was shopping at Ridleys in Middleton the truck plowing snow in the parking lot was from rainy day landscaping thought I would offer him a job doing my parking lot when I came back out. When I came out he was pushing snow up around my vehicle and made a rude comment out his window about my parking. Without even knowing it his nasty attitude lost him a job. read more
