Buyer beware!
I bought two Ragdolls from this breeder and caught her in so many lies, and she doesn't follow her own rules on her very outdated website.
1. She sold me a runt that was too small to spay on pick-up day, so the breeder agreed to pay for her spay when she was ready, and seven months later - I still haven't received a penny, after I paid $1,000 over the (half-off) fee the breeder offered me if I adopted her, but because my Vet's fee for a cat spay is only $65 more than what her Vet charges her, she threw a fit, even after I sent her 5-6 comps from local breeders, and the cheapest price was $200, but that wasn't acceptable for this breeder, after all the extra money I gave her, just to get kicked in the teeth, in the name of greed. I seriously, don't know how people like this sleep at night, when you were so generous like my husband and I were, and I would imagine, God can't be too happy either.
2. Also, the breeder says in her agreement that the buyer can come visit their purchased kitten after they've had their first vaccines, but when I asked to come visit, the breeder wouldn't allow any visitations and said, my husband and I would have to see the kittens via zoom call. So, that was another lie. (Red flag)
3. Her agreement also says, buyer can attain a copy of the genetic test from litter's parents, but yet when I asked for a copy, she said it was her business and not mine. She had told me, she was moving her Son in a dorm, so I told her she could send them when she got back, but I will not wait for the spay fee, so she sent the genetic test results, but no money was ever sent. When I wrote a review on BBB, she said, she was moving her only daughter to her dorm.. This lady can't keep up with her own lies.
I'm a retired Veterinary Technician of 40 years and the breeder has three years experience, so I'm guessing she wasn't use to answering questions that most buyers should be asking breeders before making such a big purchase like the two Ragdolls.
4. Her agreement says, "NO kittens will be released before 12-14 weeks of age" and she released ALL kittens in that litter at 10 weeks old - and that's a big no no with reputable Ragdoll breeders, especially the runt of the litter.
5. Breeder claims she's a "HOBBY" breeder and in the state of Texas, it's not a hobby if a breeder has more than 20 kittens per year and this breeder has had a lot more than 20 kittens this year; Breeders do this, so they can cheat on their taxes, and at $2,000 per kitten and many litters, then you can't legally claim it's a hobby. But, I'm sure, she's paying her fair share of taxes like the rest of the working class in the US.
5. NEVER pay cash, Venmo, Zelle, etc., because you'll never get your money reimbursed if the breeder decides they don't want to reimburse you, in a case like mine.
I've been a Veterinary Technician for almost 40 years and have dealt with shady breeders, and this breeder is no different. Because she has never had to deal with a buyer with a lot of Veterinary experience and the breeder with three years of breeding Ragdolls, I hope, she'll think real hard before she rips off another buyer. I love my beautiful Ragdolls, I purchased from Raining Ragdolls, however, I will never trust another breeder again after this awful experience, so I'll stick with adopting a pet from a shelter like I usually do.
My runt kitty is still little and has bad allergies from the day I picked her up from the breeder. (bad gene), but she's very spoiled, beautiful and much loved.
* Please do a lot of research before purchasing a Ragdoll or any popular cat or dog because there's a lot of bad breeders and scammers out there, just trying to make a quick buck, and also, ask for a copy of the contract before purchasing a pet because you may not like what is written. read more
