First time there and felt welcomed immediately. The staff were attentive and let me take my sweet time looking at everything! They help me match colors, find special items (advent calendar panels), and special order ByAnnie patterns/supplies for me. I live in New Port Richey, but itis worth the drive to Clearwater. I stumbled upon Rainbows End by complete accident one day. I had a feeling I would be in trouble by the time I left. I'm not sure if it was self-control or being overwhelmed that saved me in the end, but I sadly walked out empty-handed. This store is huge. Massive. BUT unlike many shops that offer a lot of product, it's extremely organized and well-maintained. Besides the thousands of bolts of quilting cotton (including Kona Bay/Seattle Bay, Moda, Alexander Henry, Echino, Michael Miller...), they also carry tons of books, ribbons, threads, binding, patterns, the works! Come here with a plan in mind otherwise you'll either buy half the store or end up being too overwhelmed to process it all. Not just for quilters! Wow, this is an amazing quilt shop! It was so busy, and the women cutting says it was kind of slow... I'm thrilled this shop has so much support from the community! Anyone who loves fabric knows that walking into a good fabric store can be kinda magical and just super fun. But if you're not a quilter you should still go! Sweet Moses, this place is HEAVEN if you're into sewing, quilting or need fabric or sewing supplies. First, it's HUGE inside. The variety of fabrics is unreal!!! And the prints aren't ones you can find at Joann or anything, there are some really special fabrics in here, and the prices are very reasonable. No kidding, if you're needing fabric, especially cotton, this is the place for you. I love how it's organized. The huge holiday area guarantees you will find something to shit your fancy. There are sections done by color and the novelty print area (my favorite!) is done by theme. Food print, right there. Tropical, over there. Animals, trees, ballerinas, baseballs, beer, the list of choices is endless and wonderful! They also carry ribbon, notions, patterns, etc. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice. One kind woman told me they offer a multi-week quilting class, where you work on learning quilting from start to finish, and at the end of the course you have a full size quilt! Amazing! This place is the bomb! In a time where we have lost several of our quilt shops, I am so tickled that these girls decided to open a business that makes so many of us happy! Marian and Leslie are both very gifted and talented! They both have their skills and compliment each other perfectly and I say that without really knowing these gals very much. My observation is purely what I have seen during their hours of operation. They both have very strong customer skills and both are so helpful when I show up with questions or need help picking out fabric. They have both helped me to overome my own creative blocks and add so much in the way of encouragement! Each time I am in their shop, I overhear someone state how happy they are that they have opened! In a very short amount of time, I personally have seen their growth go from one store to another and are in need of a bigger place already! Of course, I so appreciate just how much closer they are to me now, but I would still travel a distance to go there even if they weren't this close to me. I would also like to speak to their collections. I LOVE all of the fabrics they pull into their shop. So much to chose from! The variety is fabulous! This shop is the only place that I shop at while I am down here for the winter. I am thrilled that they always have everything I need or at least can get it in for me. I have yet to be there and find it slow. They always seem to be filled with people. On a side note, I am dumb struck by the amount of men who come into their shop! Best fabric/quilt shop I've ever visited! I've shopped there almost 30 years. I can't imagine how many yards of fabric, trim, and thread that would add up to! Every step along the way, each worker there has been interested, helpful, and encouraging as I walked through beginning to quilt to becoming a quilter. I've been to their classes, met celebrity quilters in the store, purchased sewing/quilting machines from them, and have even run into them outside the store and scrapbooked with them! While sad to learn they will be retiring, they certainly deserve it! They're not just quilt shop owners/workers, they're part of the history and culture of Dunedin. I will shop with them through the last day. I hope to continue to see them out in the community to thank them (again) for all their help through the years! read more

I make sure to stop in here every time I am in Florida- this is by far the best stocked fabric store I have come across. If there is a cotton fabric you are looking for, there is a great chance they stock it here. They have the store broken down into sections, and it takes a while to process it all - so make sure you really set some time aside to look around. They have a wide selection of all the major brands, and plenty of smaller ones. What I love the most: - Large selection of Japanese import fabric at reasonable prices. - The best selection of wool and wool blend felt I have ever seen. - Not only do they stock fabric, they have tons of trims and buttons and glittery things to blow your money on to. I have never had a problem with the service here, I like the fact that the sales people are not breathing down your neck the whole time you are there. I can always find help when I need it, since they regularly have three-four people working on the floor at a time. They do a lot of business, so waiting on them to finish up with a previous customer is no big deal for me. The prices are typically ten-twelve dollars a yard- which is more expensive then if you go to Joanns. However- the quality and selection blow the other fabric stores out of the water and I will gladly give my money over to this independently owned shop. read more

By far, the best fabric store I've been to in Florida. I read the reviews on Yelp before I went so I was expecting nothing in the way of service - so I was floored when I walked through the door and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by someone. In addition, the person that cut my fabric was very kind and helpful. The cashier was a little aloof but that is because after reading the reviews, I was actually watching everyone there. Maybe they turned over a new leaf? I was impressed. The fabric selection was outstanding. I covered maybe only 50% of the store and I was there for over an hour. The difference in quality (as compared to a chain like Joann Fabrics) was immediately apparent as soon as I began to touch and feel the fabrics. No comparison. Yes, I paid about $11/yard for most everything I bought but it was worth it. Gorgeous, soft textiles and beautiful prints that you can't get at just any chain store. Michael Miller, MODA, Riley Blake...to name just a few. Since it's primarily geared towards quilters, there were completed projects hung up all through the store. Just beautiful! Towards the back of the store, there was a Christmas section with lots of example projects hanging by the fabric. I was blown away by all the charms sets and fat quarters. I didn't buy any this time, but I was so tempted - the selection was huge. I can not wait to return! read more

I know nothing about quilting but I LOVED this place. I arrived, looking for a gift for my aunt and was so impressed With the quality and quantity. There were several cutting counters and tons and tons of patterns. I was able to navigate through everything and pick out some fabric for a quilt for her to make. I sure hope she likes my selections. My all time favorite place to buy fabric. I'm so bummed that they are closing. I just discovered them in this last year, and every time I go there I love it more. Every one is so helpful and the selection is outstanding. I can alway find fabrics to match whatever, and if I can't the ladies will do their best to assist. I've picked up many tips, patterns and received many suggestions on how to proceed with my quilts. I am going to miss you, but before you're gone I plan to continue to stock my stash!! I am with other reviewers in that I wish I could split the rating between staff and merchandise. The selection is pretty good- way better than average actually; quite extensive. Because I am a male, usually I get either ignored or pounced on with a "can we help you with something????" to get me out the door and on my way. I was ignored - which means they think I am a husband just there to pay and carry merchandise back to the car. LOL. It's not the worst response and I understand it. I did stop and interrupt a woman to ask a question as she was talking with a customer while she was cutting her fabric. She was very gracious and very polite (and so was the customer, for that matter). I was directed to the male employee who we answered the question to - and he seemed a bit on the personal side. Friendly enough - but after all that, I became invisible again. It was a busy day, but opportunities for employees to say "hello" or guided conversations ("finding all the fabric you need?") things along that line were really not done. It's ok though. The line at the register nearly made me leave. Slamming busy day and I almost think I waited longer in line than I shopped and browsed. The woman taking the money was having a bit of a slightly tense conversation with the woman she was checking out. The tension was making me uncomfortable and it was taking forever. On a bright note, I did get to have some great conversations with other quilters in the community...so that was nice. ...and everyone seemed to be patient. ...so, I hung in there too. I hate to sound flaky...and I thought it was just me, because the folks at my local quilt shop raved over the place. It was only today when I told them I went and they said "yeah..not the friendliest there, are they?". But the atmosphere of the place just didn't seem warm and inviting. The RFD anti-theft system may have something to do with it, but it makes you feel bad because the apparent need to have it. You'd think quilters would be a more honorable bunch. There was a tenseness in the shop that I couldn't put my finger on..but it's not going to stop me from going back and trying it one more time. Brick and mortar stores need to be aware of the need for a "high touch" salesmanship. While their sales don't seem to be hurting now, they could if they don't bump up the factor a bit to go a little bit further to create a welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to go back again in a few months to see if it has a similar vibe. read more

Don't bother! Better friendlier places to go to. The woman at the desk treats everyone like a criminal. The staff acts like your a problem if you dare to ask a question and I only went in to support a local business. I lived in the area for years and completely avoid this place after being treated badly....on more than one occasion. You always try to go back to give a second chance and a third. I wish I could review the stock and the service seperately. I will give this 4 stars because the stock is outstanding. The service was non-existant. I do have an in depth knowlege of the payroll from the discussion across the room between the staff and whomever does the payroll (the manager or owner, I presume.) The first time I was spoken to was to be given my total at the cash register. I would shop here again in a heartbeat, since being greeted warmly is certainly secondary to quality quilting supplies. read more

The most amazing fabric store I have every been to!!! This place is truly unbelievable, the most quilting fabric I have ever seen in one place. A huge variety and selection arranged by style and color cover the store from floor to ceiling. Don't forget to look in the second building in the back too. They have a very good selection of thread and sewing notions along with other craft items. I love this store and can spend all day playing amongst the bolts of fabric. I am not allowed to go here without supervision because I will buy way too much and never complete any of my projects. Yes the prices are more than Jo-anns and there is never any sales but they do have good clearance. My favorite day to go is in August for the Christmas open house. Yes the staff can be a bit abrasive and crass but that is what happens sometimes in family run businesses. Ok yes its true they are not big on the warm fuzzy welcome. Perhaps they are understaffed for the volume of product they have to monitor (this occurred to me when I found an inventory control tag in each of the fat quarters I purchased).
