I asked to keep the length as is and she gave me very very short stumpy nail. I asked for gel builder and she just painted them. She was grumpy and kept shaking her head because I had stained nails - I work in the trades - nothing I can do about it. Worst experience! Don't go!

I hate to be the first to post and not leave the best review :(…read more I found this place from searching a close nail salon and stalking their IG. Their nail art that they do is so pretty you can tell that the technicians that achieve this definitely know their stuff. It's such a pretty salon. I came in just wanting the signature mani + pedi ($65) and just a classic mani and a classic french tips on my toes no shellac. It was good and relaxing. But halfway through, my technician changed and the next technician who took over put shellac on my toes - she was pretty much done so if I was to change they'd have to do it all again, so I got charged $20 extra. When the technician did my manicure it was quick, clean and perfect except where the nail polish was already splitting on my thumb. The original technician went somewhere so I asked another lady who was free if she could just fix that part and she looked so annoyed at me and did not say much to the point I felt bad for asking her after that :( When I left I just got stared down and no one said thank you or goodbye :( My mani also wasn't put under UV/led lighting so by the time I left to walk to my car it was already pressed and smudged -_- one finger and one toenail has already chipped/ and the skin around my nails hurt this morning too. I'm not the type to rule off a place so I'd try that place again another time but definitely different hospitality than what I've had previously in America where you know they definitely deserve their tips, won't let you leave unless your nails look perfect as well as do an awesome job.

But now having experienced this teams level of precision and attention to detail during a recent manicure, I can understand why I will often walk past and see the store full with ladies treating themselves. $35 bought me a shellac manicure which, compared to CBD counterparts, comes in as cheap as chips. And yet, as I mentioned above, the dedicated and detail taken was better than some I've paid more for. My nail technician took what looked like painstaking detail to ensure the polish was just right, rounding the nail bed with a small paint brush to ensure none of the colour went "outside the lines". The atmosphere was calm and a complimentary bottle of water offered. They might take a little longer but it's worth it, in my opinion.

They have recently updated their chairs and they give a brilliant massage right up to your neck. If you want a happy and pleasurable experience look no further than Elegant Nails & spa.

For $50 you can get a spa pedicure and gel overlay polish. I love the big leather lounges that gently massage your back while your tootsies are pampered. You pop your feet into a foot spa located at the base of a soothing massage chair. Your attendant will usually give your leg a light tap when she wants you to lift your foot out of the water. They start by scrubbing your feet all over with a beautiful exfoliating scrub. After the exfoliation your feet are rubbed with a pumice stone and any hard areas are removed with a callus shaver. Your feet are then placed back into the foot spa for a few minutes, dried and massaged with a rich moisturising cream. The gel overlay polish is my favourite because it doesn't chip and it lasts around a month which suits me because I usually only go once every four to six weeks. There are so many beautiful colours to choose from. The best thing about this place is that they have a customer loyalty program so for every third visit you get $5 off.

As other reviewers mentioned, conversation is pretty much non-existent due to language barriers but this doesn't turn out to be too bad after the initial shock. The ladies there are great at what they do and did a very good job. The language issue wasn't really a problem to be honest, however it probably would be nice if one of them spoke fluent English just so they could help out with general questions and conversation. The lady I had kept on giving me constant compliments about myself and what I was wearing which was very sweet and flattering. Personally I think they're all friendly, they do a good job and are well priced - I'd definitely go back there again.

I treated myself to a half hour Reflexology session ($30) and then the Classic Pedicure ($50), and was in there for over an hour and a half! Sole Indulgence is a home based business, however the treatment room is very professional looking and it's a very quiet area, so it was very peaceful in the room. It's only just down the road from the Aspley Coles Supermarket, but you don't have to battle shopping centre parking at Sole Indulgence. There's a parking space in the driveway for customers and plenty of street parking. The room is clean and professional looking, and the chair is specially for foot treatments - you lay back, with the chair supporting your lower back and your feet are elevated. This chair is soooo comfortable, before Carolyn even touched my feet, I was feeling relaxed and could have totally fallen asleep. She started with the reflexology, which was a soothing massage. I was so relaxed, I almost dozed a couple of times. I had mentioned an occasional sore shoulder and she said she could feel it in my feet, but also some neck pain on the other side - which is actually true, I often get pain in my left side of my neck if I sleep on that side! The pedicure was a much gentler experience then some of those Nail bars/foot spas in shopping centres. There was no cheese-grater used on my heels, rather it was gently buffed off. As Carolyn also works at The Podiatry Point in Stafford, all of her pedicure equipment is sterilised and individually packaged. So no sharing nail clippers between customers! The products used at Sole Indulgence are all chemical-free where possible and certified organic essential oils in the creams. I will definitely be going back to Sole Indulgence again on a regular basis. My feet look and feel fantastic and the prices are very reasonable for the level of service you're getting. Appointments can be made Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9am-5pm, late night on Thursdays until 7pm. Saturday morning too by appointment only. Currently they don't have EFTPOS or credit card facilities but you can pay by direct deposit, or cash.

It's very similar to a lot of the Asian run nail salons around (places like Professionail for example) so as usual you will come out with nicely polished nails. I find that thing that sets these numerous nail salons apart from each other is not the end result but the experience you have during your time in the store. Usually when you arrive for a mani or pedi, you will be asked to pick the colour of nail polish you want applied. Like most places, American Nails has a rack of polishes on the wall at the back full of so many colours that you'll immediately be paralysed by choice. Some nail salons have legit colours, others keep the bottles of good nail polish brands like OPI and top them up with cheaper polish when they're empty. I suppose they expect that no one will notice, but if you're a frequent buyer ad wearer of nail polish you will notice because the names on the bottles won't match the colour that you know it's meant to be. American Nails is guilty of this little trick, but to be honest so many places are that although it does disappoint me a little it doesn't tend to deter me. The next part of your experience will the the mani or pedi itself, and what characterises this is how long the staff spend perfecting your nails. A good mani or pedi will take at least fifteen minutes during which not only will your cuticles be fixed and nails filed, buffed, polished, and top-coated but your hands and forearms (or feet and legs in the case of a pedi) will be moisturised and massaged which is nice and relaxing. Some nail salons really rush things and basically all they've done is quickly filed and painted your nails. American Nails falls somewhere in between these two poles, and it depends on the time of day and who you get. American Nails is definitely an example of a fairly typical nail salon and you will leave with pretty fingers and toes and the experience won't have been amazing nor terrible.
