Never underestimate the power of small restaurants. This is what I learned from here.
I was lazing at home and wondering what to eat for lunch. Just-eat popped up in my mind and I went searching for restaurants and takeaways near me. I knew this restaurant, ever since I moved here but I never bothered to go there thinking it wouldn't have anything of my type and would be strictly Bengali cuisine. But I was wrong.
There were a variety of items to choose from their online menu. I chose Dal Tarka, vegetable korma and some chapattis. They arrived on time served hot! They are just a minute away from my house. In fact ordering from just-eat was unnecessary, I could have just walked there but you know those lazy weekends.
I had my first piece of chappatti dipped in the korma. OMG! Mouthwateringly delicious! The korma was coconut milk based hence it had a subtle sweetness and lots of vegetables with very little oil. Totally rich in flavour! Then I tried Tarka Dal and yet again another surprise. I just wished I never swallowed the food. Reminded me of home. Felt like I was back in my country of origin, at my grandma's having food she made for me.
It was not what I expected from a takeaway. I don't think I have eaten from a takeaway that serves food at this quality. Items on the menu are very affordable. I wish I knew this place when I was a student. Maybe not, I probably would be over weight now. And being extremely happy with my first order, I went there personally and thanked them and had some vegetable Vindaloo! Spicy as hell! I mean that is what Vindaloo should be. I just loved it. I am totally a fan of this place now. read more
