Middle of the night, get up for a drink of water, turn the tap, ...nothing.
Go out to the pump house and yep, zero pressure, my well pump isn't pumping.
In the morning I called Oregon Water Services as they have been very good in the past. All the water services companies were swamped with work (no pun intended) so they referred me to Rainbow Pump.
Rainbow Pump was also very busy but being completely out of water helped to prioritize me a bit higher on their list.
They came out to assess the situation and found more than one issue. There was no power to the well and a capacitor had blown. John showed me the capacitor from the pumphouse and yea, it was smoked.
Beyond that, it was obvious by their testing at the well head that the submersible pump itself was blown. I wasn't really surprised by this as it was a Grundfos Pump over 30 years old. I requested they replace it with another Grundfos as I trust the brand for quality.
John was able to save me over $1,000 by replacing the pump with one more suitable to my actual use, Thanks John!!
Needless to say, Rainbow Pump got me back up and running. They made sure I understood everything they did and showed me the various components that failed as well as those that were about to.
As a homeowner out in the country, you have no idea how valuable water is until there isn't any.
Thank you Rainbow Pump! read more
