The school truly nurtures independence, curiosity, and confidence in its students. Over the years we've watched Jack grow not only academically but also personally, developing strong communication skills, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. One of the most special opportunities recently was his participation in the MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) conference in New York. Seeing students represent their schools and countries on an international stage at such a young age speaks volumes about the quality of education and encouragement they receive at Montessori Institute of Broward. The leadership at the school is exceptional. Ms. E, the principal, creates a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired. She truly leads with heart and vision. Jack's Grade 4 teacher, Ms. Kay, has also been outstanding--patient, dedicated, and deeply invested in her students' growth. She challenges them academically while also nurturing their confidence and character. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and inspiring school community. Montessori Institute of Broward has played a huge role in shaping Jack into the curious, confident young person he is becoming. Luke aged 5 is also thriving at MIB and i cant wait to see how he progresses.

We have been fortunate to have experienced many great teachers throughout the years in both Parrot and Otter rooms and will continue with the school until sixth grade (or more if they open a middle school). I absolutely do not recommend this school. It is a very small institution where the principal shows…read moreno concern for the children's well-being. Whenever parents raise serious concerns or propose improvements, she either ignores them or responds rudely. The children are afraid of her, which creates unnecessary stress. Teachers cry during class because of the mistreatment they receive from the principal, and staff turnover is constant--most teachers leave after a year. The outdoor spaces are extremely limited, so children can't even run around. The main bathroom is almost always broken, and instead of fixing the plumbing issues, they threaten children with punishment if they use toilet paper. When I transferred my son to another school, his new teachers told me he had been taught to hold a pencil incorrectly. We are still retraining him on this, which has affected his handwriting. The school also lacks diversity--there are no children of other races--and bullying is not addressed at all. One day, another child grabbed my son by the neck and threw him to the ground, and the principal never even called to check on him. In summary: this school is poorly managed, does not care about children or teachers, and provides a very negative environment. Most children do not last more than one year here. It has been the worst educational experience we've ever had.

Great school!! I have my 2 kids in this school, ages 2 and 4. They both love the school. And I love…read morethe friendly environment of it. The school is very clean and the materials the kids work with is clean and in good condition. The facilities are kid friendly and the playground is very nice and well maintained. They have a very good curricula and a very structured method which help kids learn and be organized while having fun. The teachers are very nice, friendly and always willing to help the children improve. The owners are very friendly and very professional. They are the heart of the school, providing the best work so our children can get the best learning experience. I've seen such a big change on my kids in a positive way since I enrolled them to the school, they have become very independent and willing to do things by themselves, progressed rapidly in their learning and the mastering of new skills, and learned so much vocabulary and the recognition of letters. My older daughter by the time she entered pk4 she was writing her name already and could recognize some words. It's a great find that school. I consider it like a little hidden gem.

I have been struggling with the idea of writing this review but then I thought some parents could…read morebenefit from our experience so maybe this ordeal won't have been for nothing. We moved from our country in January 2018 as soon as we got to Aventura this school was the best option to us. We Know about the Montessori philosophy and we like it. On the day of the interview, we informed the principal of our situation, we just moved from another country, my son spoke no English and he had a 6 months old sibling. Our 5 years old son started on March because we believed he could benefit from being with other kids, learning how to share, practicing english and having a routine while we organized the family affairs. After 1 week, we got a call from the principal who let us know that they decided to reevaluate the admission because our son had a bad attitude. He didn't cooperate with activities or would not listen to the teacher (he didn't speak English at the time) We asked her to be patient because of the circumstances and the principal gave us another chance, but it sounded like an ultimatum. The following month, April, we had to travel to our country. We where there for two weeks and when we came back he wasn't better. I think being exposed again to his old life, friends and the family wasn't easy. One morning the principal called me again, she was screaming. She informed us that she put our son out of school! I was crying and felt really sad. My husband called to speak to her and tried to reason with her, this wasn't the ideal solution. She said that our son was not a good fit anymore and he was going to be given two weeks to adjust to the school or else he would be dismissed. Mind you this was also the end of the school year. My son was going through a lot, a new sister, a new country a new language. This school treated him as if he was a juvenile delinquent, as if his presence in the school was a problem. This principal prizes herself for having 23 years of experience in childhood education and that is the way she decided to handle a child who was going through a challenging time in his life? We were made feel as if there was something terribly wrong with him. My son was silly and exuberant experiencing an incredible amount of change all at once, that was his fault. Never did the teachers though help him navigate transitions (the most frequent times for behavioral outbursts), or never was he given time to familiarize himself with the Montessori rules which they claimed he was not following. He was defiant but like a 5 year old can be, a 5 year old who is going through so much change in his life. We were given an ultimatum in a very cold and unsympathetic way. After that call, my husband and I decided to get him out of this horrible school right away. Never in my life have I experienced such lack of compassion and understanding in an early childhood education setting. My son wasn't violent or aggressive or dangerous he was anxious and rambunctious. There must have been other ways to deal with this, some basic childhood psychology and more respectful interventions. You see I could have dealt with the idea that my son wasn't a good fit for this school if the principal had been communicating with us in a compassionate manner, but that never happened. Do yourself a favor, steer away from this place and their cold hearted management. These people should not be educating anyone since they lack basic human empathy. Now, a year later, we are so happy. He is in kindergarten, he is an excellent student, he loves his teacher and has made a lot of friends. He only needed TIME !!

The enrollment process was like none we had ever experienced before. They offered us an observation where our son went to the classroom for the teacher to get an understanding of his current level of functioning then we also had an opportunity to speak with a current parent of another student who was very helpful. The teacher is amazing and we saw the difference in our son at home. He came home showing us that he learned how to peel an orange himself and he became more independent overall. The only reason we decided to leave is thw distance. We live in Dania Beach and with the traffic and school zones in the morning, too much time was being taken for traveling. Otherwise, we would happily keep our son enrolled. We love Ms. Salma and her entire staff who are highly professional.

We watched in the lobby camera as she got in line to walk from one room to the next, went to her spot in circle time, and sat/participated as needed. Its not just her, the other kids behave the same and that tells you it's not just her or an accident. The school has an effective system that works. She comes home repeating alphabet songs english and spanish. During visits she takes us around to different stations. MILA does a fantastic job of giving latitude to the kids interests while providing boundaries and structure. 10/10 would recommend.
