However, after doing business locally for 3-4 years and the quality of service dropping severely (which is a whole other story that probably should be told sometime), I made the decision to go back to Star Cleaners in Sherman. They are now under new ownership, but seem to still offer the same great, in-house service as before. After being back for a few weeks, I am very impressed with the quality of their work and professionalism. They are very adept at removing stains and pressing garments the way you want them done. Also, while dry cleaning is expensive, in general, Star Cleaners is competitive and offers discounts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I recommend them highly.

After the 2nd week came and went, we called to inquire about them. Was told told, " OH yeah, they've been ready". We never received a text or a phone call. My husband went to pick them up and was charged $44.00 for the absolute worst hemming job I have ever seen. There are gaping holes in each pair of pants on the inside and they just look terrible. He took a pair of already hemmed ones to use as a guide of what he wanted.... No where near what was shown. This is very disappointing and it looks like I'm going to have to learn how to hem. I'm no seamstress, but my mother in law used to be ( she was not able to fix these for us) but I am pretty sure I could have done a better job myself by hand and therefore we will not be using them again. I could understand the price had we asked for rush service, but it definitely wasn't rush and I'm pretty sure there wasnt even any length cut off.

Carpet cleaning resulted in additional damage and rendered our carpet unusable. While the company…read morebrags that their machine is the only one in Grayson County capable of cleaning the carpet as well as the padding underneath, they do not accept responsibility for damage to the padding. They came to clean the carpet in our living room after our sick cat had an accident on the living room floor. It seems as though the urine was spread throughout the living room carpet. The stench was unbearable and after two additional visits from M&S Carpet Cleaning, (the first in which they acknowledged the smell but stated that our cats must have sprayed somewhere in the house, and the second visit in which they stated the didn't smell it at all initially, then changed their mind and said they smelled it but it was in the padding, not the carpet, and they are not responsible for the padding), we ended up ripping out the carpet and replacing the flooring. What initially started with a $55 carpet cleaning, turned into a $1,500 flooring project, with absolutely no responsibility taken by this company.
