Rainbow garden used to be a destination in Ogden. Not only for the food but for planet rainbow. Well planet rainbow doesn't even exist anymore. The doors are closed and dust gathering. I don't know what is gonna happen with that space. The gift shop is great and truly offers a variety of things and almost something for everyone. I have to say that the crowd was a lot of older people. I feel like now that whole place is catering to the geriatric set. Why don't you offer the Mormon muffins for sale without having to eat at the restaurant? Why don't you have something in planet rainbow space and what happened to planet rainbow? It just feels like slow death there and I really hate to see a landmark like that die. It needs some life breathed into it really bad. If you're thinking of going there when you're in Ogden, you can skip it and you'll be just fine. read more

Rainbow Gardens is a secret gem in Ogden, its an old sanitarium/swimming pool and you can almost smell the chlorine iwhile stroling all the unique, seasonal wares as you dscend the stairs! Its just fun! Greeting card game is magical . Dont forget to grab a bite at their quirky, delicious restaurant before walking alond the Ogden river to stroll the dino-park. For someone who delights in being a minimalist, I sure found a great deal of joy in this wonderful gift shop. It goes on and on with beautiful display after another of unique, attractive themed gifts. Truly, hats off to the person in charge of displaying the products-they know what they are doing. I'd imagine that's a bit of a challenge to avoid making things look cluttered with so much stuff to work with. I'm not sure what else to say other than this is a gift shop that I will excitedly and enthusiastically return to. There are delicious smelling candles, kitchen gadgets, home décor, stationary, candy and trinkets that would make your grandma's heart skip a beat. Romped around all my bf's family's fave spots in the area during our trip to Eden and landed on Rainbow Gardens so they could introduce me to Mormon muffins! Never had anything quite like it - I'd like to describe it as a Thanksgiving-y muffin. Just makes you feel warm and cozy inside. The honey butter that went with it was delicious for dipping too. I ordered the pesto pasta with chicken which came with some yummy toasted bread on the side. Everyone's portions were huge and we all devoured our food. Probably one of the best pesto pasta dishes I've ever had. We walked around the gift shop after lunch and that was so fun as well to see all the cool knick knacks. Service was spectacular - I even left a handful of rings at the table (I take them off before eating) which I only remembered upon getting into the car but when I ran back they had set it safely aside for me!! Three of us decided to stop here for lunch and shop at the gift store. It was around 12:15 when we arrived and it was a bit busy. Mostly women having lunch I think it's time they change their menu. Update with some new things. A lot of Turkey or ham items. Prices are outrageous. Just a simple burger, no cheese or mushrooms, cost me $14 And you get chips or a scoop of pasta salad. This is the cheapest thing on the menu. I think they left my budget on grill to long too because it was burnt to a crisp. Can't complain about our waitress. She was very nice. But get a new menu!!! The gift shop was busy but always fun to look around. They do a nice job in decorating. It will be awhile before we come back to the restaurant. The shops that are still open are cute. The restaurant not great. So many flies everywhere. Very gross. The menus were sticky and the rest of the restaurant needs a deep cleaning. They save no money by boiling the chicken. That is just laziness. It is almost like they have stopped caring about what they serve. I love to eat here and browse the gift shops. I had the Marcopolo meal and I was sorely disappointed in its taste and presentation. It was supposed to be one of their premier dishes but it was disgusting. I would recommend that they re-evaluate that dish. The meat was literally out of a bag and the cream sauce most likely was microwaved. The Mormon muffin was still a highlight and the only good part of my meal. I'm disappointed but I'll be back because it's the first time I had a bad experience. read more

The thing I love about this place is that it NEVER changes. The gift shop remains the same and the menu seems completely unchanged since the 70's. One nit: the Mormon muffin recipe was changed about 5+ years ago and it has a lighter color and texture. Rainbow Garden is a great place a for a decent lunch or dinner. The diverse menu offers a lot of different options so there is something for everyone. There are things on the menu that I've never seen anywhere else. I got the Marco Polo which is an English muffin covered in chicken, ham and hollandaise sauce.. It was amazing and very filling. The burgers are great as well. The service was great as well. I was skeptical this time around just because the waitresses all looked young and was sure how they would be but they were very professional and helpful. They have many offers for you to bring you back. An example is their birthday club. I think this is a great locally owned place and it's located in a neat part of Ogden. I'll definitely be back. We wanted to get out and ride our bikes to get a break from the house. We parked and the owner came out and started taking pictures of us. We ask him if he needs us to move. No response. Just taking more pictures. We ask again. Again no response and more pictures. (I honestly think he was holding his breath). Then he started waving his arms wildly to the adjacent parking lot. We say "ok we will move." And we did. He then starts to yell and proceeds to call the cops on us (who laughs that he even had to be there and said that he has had to talk to him before and tells us to enjoy our ride). Then as we are leaving after our ride (2 hours later) he tries to block the driveway to get out of the parking lot and yells again. I get that your restaurant is closed right now. Wouldn't the better thing to do be to let people park there and be able to enjoy the fresh air? I should add there was no sign saying not to park there. Suffice it to say we will not be supporting that kind of treatment. Kindness always wins people. Just be kind. read more

The coffee tasted like chewing tobacco! It was not fresh and was probably made hours ago because it was kept in a thermos. The barista showed us all his fancy flavors and lied, he said that he made all the pastries fresh this morning. So I got a muffin it was firm and soggy on the outside. I couldn't taste the muffin because the coffee was so horrid. We left it all there as a warning. New isn't always better. They don't have a clue about coffee but they know how to be fancy. I would have to totally disagree with A.D. This place is pretty disgusting and the muffins along with anything else eaten are a poor choice. I'd prefer to eat at Mcdonald's than this place...and I feel bad for Mcdonald's after saying that. The color scheme and interior are very tacky and the whole place is very dated and has a dusty, cold, dingy feel to it. I feel bad that I ever visited the place and wasted my time here!?!? What was I thinking??? All I know is that I won't make the mistake again. Do NOT waste your time here. The gift shop has pieces and items that were poorly selected and the management was extremely slow in helping or answering any questions. "My salad tastes like that GROSS bagged salad", I said. The waitress answered me back saying "That's because it IS bagged salad! They've been serving bagged salad for years!" Ewww! Gross!!!!
