My fault not making a reservation on Tuesday of the 4th of July week, but after an over hour drive…read morewe weren't about to leave (there aren't many other choices for dinner nearby), so we waited for about 50 minutes. Fortunately we sat in a big room with many others and had drinks. Very seasonal and tasty. Once seated we enjoyed our dinners. Took the carrot cake home to enjoy later. It's not to be missed!!

Always a favorite spot and a sure thing for a good quality meal…read more Not sure if they have a new cook, if they're cheapening their ingredients or if their supplier is cheapening things. Meal was good but we're accustomed to greatness from this restaurant. New Orleans cavatappi pasta has always pushed the limits on spicy but today it fell short. Le sigh Generous portion of walleye as usual but the sauce just came up flat. Added table salt which helps but adds a layer of unrefined flavor teasing the mind and leaving us to wonder why do we have to salt our food today? Sweet potato comes with cinnamon brown sugar butter didn't let the server tell you it's just brown sugar butter. Featured soup was Hungarian mushroom. Not sure what makes it Hungarian and the server didn't know either. ‍ We liked our meal but we didn't LOVE it like we usually do. Perhaps it was just an off day. We'll try again. Please don't let this restaurant slide down past return. It's one of the few we know we can get a high quality meal out of.

The Livery is a microbrewery and pizzeria in the Arts District. It is located in a restored 1800s…read moreformer horse stable and grain mill. There is a large bar and they have an extensive list of rotating taps of house-brewed microbrews. My husband had the Livery Lite, reasonably priced at $5. I had the house made seltzer with blueberry lemonade flavor. They are known for their pizzas, so we each ordered a slice. My husband had an Italian Sausage and I have Goat Cheese with Herbs. The slices were large, but the pizza was disappointing. It was a thin, crispy crust with seasoning. Since the pizza was already made and being warmed in a warmer the flavors were not as robust and the cheese was not melted or gooey. If the pizza was fresh from the oven I am sure it would have been better. There is a large indoor space and outdoor beer garden. There is a stage for live events.

The building is a cool very old brick maybe factory or warehouse of some type. Has that industrial look to it. We ordered at the bar and our bartender was very friendly and offered us to try some beers. I had the IPA and my wife had the wheat, and both were excellent! They have a large selection for any palate, and wine too. They have a great food menu but we did not try anything. I saw on Facebook where they make asparagus soup! If in the area and need some food and beer, give them a try. They get bands throughout the year, and the variety sounded good.

Responsible drink prices, nice and fast waitress and most importantly very nice security/house staff all added up to a great experience. We made the drive over from Detroit because a friend of ours is in Sons Of Apollo, but after this experience, we would make the drive for any band we're interested in. Not the biggest venue in the world and the parking isn't good but other than that, it's a great place to see a rock show.

I have gone here several times and I've never been disappointed. I've even gone by myself when friends can't attend. If you're not used to a little bit of a sketchy location, then I'd advised taking a friend or maybe not attending. I used to go to the machine shop all the time in Flinttown and if anyone knows where Flint is, it's pretty ghetto. I'm kinda used to it so going here did not affect me. Of course there is limited seating so if you want a seat, I'd advised getting there as soon as you can preferably when they first open. I don't mind standing since I like being closer up front, but standing on your feet for several hours can deter others from attending. Drinks are great, bartenders have always been friendly but when I'm usually by myself I don't drink too much because of the driving situation. Def recommend for hard core rockers who love music :)
