Every item we saw was in very good condition and so fairly priced (Compared to retail) we couldn't resist buying presents for our daughters (Who both are very brand conscious but thrifty). Rachelle filled the bill on both accounts! We bought 2 Bags and several scarfs. Our daughters, 1 a lawyer and the other a tech exec., loved! All they had to say is when can we go? As locals - hyperlocal, in this case - I'm admittedly grading Sugarcube on a curve. I love having a…read moreshop nearby that offers a nice selection of men's and women's clothing, spanning styles and price points that resonate with both my wife and I. It's a massive store with a lot of merchandise, so you're likely to find something you like if you're in the mood to shop. Even when we haven't wanted to shop, we've found things when just popping in to say hi. You can dress up, or dress down. Shop affordably, or splurge a bit. They've introduced us to brands that we didn't know, and are always refreshing their assortment. As an independent business, they're obviously not getting in a ton of sizes, so as with all boutiques, if you see a piece that you like, you're wise to jump on it at that moment...even if you may pay a premium. A lot of the negative reviews here seems to fall into the buckets of price, assortment, or staff attitude, which may have validity in those instances, but for myself, I've only had great experiences. From the first time I went in when visiting Philly a few years ago to now as a neighborhood resident. The consistent, positive experiences we've had is why we continue to go back and spend the few extra dollars on a piece to support their local business. Plus, the men's assortment usually has things that work with my own style preference (casual, understated, but seeking quality materials and a more tailored fit in the $40-120 range). The women's assortment tends to run a bit higher, but that could just the difference in what my wife and I have shopped there. The staff are always eager to talk to us about their new arrivals, but they haven't been too pushy, thankfully. Regardless, Sugarcube likely has something for just about everyone, and if your experience mirrors ours instead of some of the more negative reviews here, hopefully you'll enjoy shopping there and find that piece you've been searching for! Enjoy!

The owner kept sending me messages on instagram inquiring if I am going to buy the black denim. Glad this place is closed, good for that guy!

I think they have lines that few other local stores have and the dressing rooms and scarfs and accessories are plentiful. The clothes smelled very bad of smoke, the clothes were not able to be resold, nor as a customer would I want to buy them. It wasn't about being racist, etc.

Just picked up my very beautiful mother of the groom dress. I have a mixed review of this boutique…read more The particular sales person (Mirella) who worked with me was really lovely, as was the seamstress Christine . It seemed clear to me however that the owner of the boutique, who had initially been extremely friendly over the phone, was not particularly interested in my business. Although she had originally told me on the phone when I made an appointment that she would be happy to help me select a dress, when I arrived she seemed cold and disinterested and handed me off to another salesperson . She then approached a second customer who seemed lovely - and was a size 0 for sure. I have heard that this is the reputation of the boutique, mostly catering to the size 0 and size 2 set. I feel very happy with my beautiful (expensive) dress . Again when I returned to pick it up today after it was fitted, the owner was fairly perfunctory with me. She didn't ask if I was happy with the dress that I was going to be wearing to my son's wedding. When one has a special event coming up and goes to a lovely boutique like this to pick something special out, one wants to feel like a special customer.
