I came to DSW just looking to see what they had in the way of flip flops. I know ... winter is the wrong time of year to be looking for them. But I found a pair that I liked for under $40. This was a decent price, but I can wait until they go on sale, especially since it's currently very cold outside and the weather isn't so good. DSW carries a lot of name brand nice quality shoes for everyone. However, the majority of the shoe selections are for women. Most of the shoes stocked in the store look like they are priced reasonably, about the same or less than the prices found in most department/retail stores. Shoes on display have nearby inventory; customers can find the size they need and try them on. At the rear of the sales floor is the clearance section where discontinued shoes or shoes with low/no inventory are grouped by gender and sizes. Different colored labels on the shoe boxes let customers know how much additional discount they can get. In addition to shoes, I saw lots of socks and some purses/bags. The issues that I saw was that employees were mostly in the front of the store at the registers, and the lack of price labels on shoe boxes. I didn't see any employees walking around asking customers if they needed any assistance. Also, I don't recall any price labels on boxes of the regular priced shoes. I had to look at the price sign next to the display shoe to find out the actual price. Other than those issues everything else was good.

When I finally got my order last night I was excited, but something told me it was all wrong. I start opening the package and the box is all messed up. The warehouse or wherever the boots came from employees decided to give me a box that doesn't match my shoes at all. I finally get to the Timbs and they are a woman's sz 8. They were so small couldn't even put my feet in them. To top it off they look like they had been worn before. I don't understand how such a large company could make this mistake. I thought I'd be very happy with this shoe repair store because I like the old town feeling of…read morehaving a store I can walk into and get my shoes repaired. But when I walked in and discussed the repair of my shoes, the guy at the desk seemed overwhelmed and was stating how much work he had to do, which is inappropriate! You shouldn't present to your customers that you have too much work. I felt like I was being a burden to him by wanting him to repair my shoes. I said to him you should be happy for the business. The inside of my boots needed some cleaning but my main issue was my heel. He said the cost to replace the heel and polish up. The boots would be $70 . I said OK but then I asked about cleaning the inside of the boots. He said that would be another $50. I said absolutely not. I could buy another pair of boots at that price. The boots only cost me $110. I was having them because I like them. When I picked up the boots a few weeks later the heels were replaced, which I was happy about. But the rest of the boot looked basically the same. No " spit polish. " the boots look the same as when I brought them to the store. They just had new heels. Anyway, I won't be returning. I tried to support a local business. But they need to really watch how they speak to customers. Suggestion: do not complain to new customers that you have too much work. Always go above and beyond. I'm gonna give you one star rating. I won't say I don't recommend your business. I don't have an option to be "neutral" so I'll choose "maybe".. It's interesting how the same item can be priced significantly lower here - for example, an item that costs $5 at this store might be priced at $10 at another location. Not sure why? TIP: If you do visit here, be sure to check the back wall to the right; they often have excellent clearance items in that section. However, when browsing clearance racks, it's important to double-check the tags, as items are sometimes misplaced and may not be marked down as expected. I visit this store regularly, and I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. Though the lines could move faster. Sometimes they have 10 people in line with only two registers open. That said, I would recommend avoiding weekends if possible, as those are typically the busiest times. As for the manager, I've had positive interactions in the past. Some reviews mention a less-than-ideal experience, but perhaps she was just having an off day. Or, who knows - maybe the situation was a bit of a two-way street. And once I came to her store she claimed that I didn't have the Marshall's tag for the shirt I bought even though I had the receipt and tag. She said shes never seen this shirt in her store and began to look on the clothing isles for the same item, and then when we both couldn't find the same item she checked me out for. Steve W the store manager was able to handle the situation but when asked for the route to writing a formal complaint he just provided me a customer service number on paper and slid it to me across the counter. This stores management needs to be worked on when it comes to customer service. Thanks.
