Rainbow taxi in Jamestown New York is horrible their cabs are always filthy there's like a quarter inch of dirt and grime always throughout their calves water on the floor some of their cabs are not even with insignias on them so you know they're the cab several times I've called and they've never showed up and then a couple times when they did they were 45 minutes late and I was late for work one of their drivers in particular would drive by teenage girls and say wow look at her she's really hot or make comments about her breasts sick their cabs are unsafe and don't get maintenance like they should they are rude to you on the phone if you call back and say where is my cab you said 15 minutes the person from dispatch will say I told you we're running a little behind because we only have one cab running right now their prices are overpriced as well because anywhere in town is $10 one way when people movers cab service is only $7.50 they want to charge you an arm and a leg to go to Lakewood and rates are different sometimes because I personally seen their driver's pocket and extra $3 from each person before when we went to Walmart a couple of times the prices were different I reported them to management but the nothing ever happened they are con artists they should be investigated the biggest gripe is the Cavs being filthy and never cleaned and sterilize and sanitize for people's health and safety it's a business they're running and you're dealing with human lives one time we got into the cab in the back of the cab there was a vomit and it smelled like urine one of the drivers was smoking in the cab and we asked him to put the cigarette out and he said he would just roll the window down when it was cold out read more

Well, I really needed to get to my job in the morning last Friday when we had that cold spell and I called them up for a ride. I needed to be at my job at 11:30AM and had called a little after 10AM. Since I live in Lakewood they had informed me that it would be an hour before a driver can get me I said that's fine. Well lo and behold an hour went by and no cab yet. It took them close to (2) hours that day to pick me up and I was late for my job. I work at a restaurant and if you don't make the food quick enough you are entitled to a free item or a reduced price. They didn't even offer me a discount and let me pay full price, those creeps! The BBB should go after them. read more

If I had to choose rainbow again I will walk. Driver seemed to have no clue what planet he was on, 25 minutes waiting I could have literally walked the less than 2 miles and the price was total BS with no meter to gauge it. NEVER use this company. 1 star was about a half too many. read more

Rainbow has recently got bed bugs and instead of doing anything about it they let it be. I got in there can got bit and saw a few crawling in the nasty seat next to me. I had to spray to prevent myself from getting those nasty things. BE CAREFUL! read more

Rainbow Cab are a cautionary tale about the dangers of monopolies. We relied on Rainbow during a rather eccentric and decidedly unsuccessful trip to the Chautauqua area. A pair of hapless Englishmen without a driving license between us, we needed a return taxi ride between our bus in Jamestown and our B&B in Mayville. Sadly, Rainbow were our only option. Both of our drivers seemed unfamiliar with the area, despite having lived there for their entire lives. The first of them was mostly pleasant, albeit one of life's pessimists. The latter, however, incoherently badgered us about extending our ride all the way to Buffalo, despite our firm refusal. He also had a long, and frankly odd, conversation on the phone at the wheel, and repeatedly chewed his finger nails while driving. Oh, and the fare was pretty steep. read more

I would like to inquire how a cab company how has a cab with over 200,00 miles on the engine can fire a driver when the engine blows up. They took the money out of his paycheck and said it was his fault. This does not sound very fail. Could you give me some advice on this subject? Maybe the NY state wage for employees should be notified on this matter. Also the drivers paycheck was shorted for more money for a another problem $100.00. I agree with the previous reviewer. This company being the only cab company in the area sucks. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because some of the cabbies are really cool guys. But yes, they smoke in the cabs even though they aren't supposed to. And the cars are pieces of crap. AND there's only a car seat in ONE of the vehicles (they have ten or fifteen) and of course that one is always busy. To me, they're also too expensive. $7 for a mile, really? If it wasn't for having a broken down car, no will to walk in the snow with my two year old, and no other choice, I would never call them again. They also charge you for making a quick pit stop, so if you're strapped on cash and need to stop by the bank to pay them, expect to pay at least $10. Even more if you go over 3 miles. I've taken countless Rainbow Cabs in my life. Not because they're good. Not because they're OK. I've taken several Rainbow Cabs mostly because they're the only cab service in Jamestown (don't laugh!), and I like going out and getting drunk, but want to be responsible about it. After all, $7.50 is far cheaper than a DWI. That said, Rainbow Cab is absolutely terrible. For one, they tend to be incredibly slow when picking you up. They tend to take over 30 minutes to pick you up, which doesn't sound too bad, until you realize that you can drive from one end of Jamestown to the other, and back again in about 20 minutes. Also, they don't take credit cards. What is this, the 70s? The cars themselves are rickety pieces of rusted out garbage, often with a distinct odor. This doesn't bother me all that much, as I'm not exactly expecting brand new Mercedes here, but it is worth mentioning for somebody with a much lower tolerance for stank. My biggest problem with Rainbow Cab is undoubtedly the drivers. I mean, I can live with the drivers listening to terrible music (pro tip: expect loads of country music and Korn). I can also live with some of the stupid jokes (yes, I want to go Brazil Craft Beer Bar. Yes I realize Brazil is also the name of a country. You can stop saying "Hur hur all the way out to Brazil? Going to be 5000 dollars hur hur"). What I can't live with is the racist/homophobic comments. All too frequently, a driver will start going off about Puerto Ricans, black people or gays without being prompted to do so. I'll just be sitting in the back of the cab checking my phone, not talking at all, and they'll start spouting off this racist garbage. This doesn't happen every time, of course. But it does happen frequently enough (probably 1 out of every 4 or 5 cab rides). Talking to other friends, they've had similar experiences. On the bright side, they are quite cheap. And like I said before, that's a lot cheaper than a DWI. So I will continue to take Rainbow Cabs, for lack of ANY better alternative. read more

The prices are inconsistent. For several trips from my residence a few miles outside of town to Jamestown it was $6.50 and then it seemed as though it was increased because of my high school/college age children to $11.50 over a few weeks because I was being price gouged. I would not recommend this questionable service. I only live 4.9 miles from the town line. I would like to request a schedule of rates and miles. read more
