What a classic bar
Tom C.

The burgers here would rank 5 stars on their own: thick, juicy, tasty and on a sesame seed bun. Order the combo mix of onion rings and fries to go with it. Good selection of beers too. The Rainbow is not a gay bar, nor is it as much a dive as it might appear. The owner and the staff are friendly; the customers a bit more mixed. I go for lunch and always have a great time. Friday nights a biking (bicycle) group stops in. I love Owosso for not being trendy; it's real. Best burgers in mid-Michigan.

Yes, a great little bar, but contrary to what others said, we enjoyed superb quick service and $7 lunch special served 11-4. (You can get same for about $8-$9 any time of day, depending on what you choose as toppings.) I'm from the South (of Owosso) in America ("South America"), and never had been to the place before. Often take visitors to Curwood Castle in Owosso (GPS 42.9998207, -84.1751345), and to admire the beautiful old homes on the North side of the Shiawassee River. First timer at Rainbow Bar. In Westown neighborhood of Owosso, the bicycle above the Rainbow Bar door drew us in, plus the lunch special sign on the sidewalk. See the photo for more details. (If you go there, tell them the South American sent you.)

I just ordered a bud draft for $2.25 and the bartender filled it up 2/3 and the rest form. I like the bartenders they had before like Rob.

The absolute worst bar burger I've ever had. The burger made me miss McDonald's. I regret that 0 or a 1/2 of a star is not an option.

Best place to go for burgers & brews. The atmosphere is like kicking back in your own living room & catching up with friends old & new.

We were looking for a spot that was open on Thanksgiving Day to watch the Lions game and after…read morecalling a few other spots with no luck, Stober's answered! We walked in and were greeted with a long communal table all set up with a tablecloth - they do a Thanksgiving potluck each year and there were a ton of people there already. We luckily got a booth with some good views of the few TVs they have and the crowd was friendly and all decked out in Lions gear. The bartender was super friendly and let us know that the food would be ready in about an hour. It's free to eat as much as you want, and they had TONS of food, including at least 3 turkeys, lots of sides, desserts, and it looked like they were setting up for a mac and cheese competition. I kept saying how nice it was to have this spot for the community and it really felt very welcoming. I love the ornate bar, with the stained glass and big wooden griffins (we think they're griffins anyway). It's such a cool place and if I lived nearby I think I'd want to be a regular here. It's always nice to feel welcomed in a townie bar like this and I think we have a new Thanksgiving tradition!

Drinks are strong, bartenders are attendant, and the people are all super friendly. If you wanna just hang out and shoot the breeze over some beers, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed! It can get busy some nights but there's plenty of spots to sit and stand.
