They take their burgers seriously and it shows. We check out the burgers wherever we go and these are the best. They drive 22 miles each way for their special cut of burger and hand patty them and grill the buns. read more

Location is good, food is just your normal bar food, not bad but nothing to brag about, trying to get a drink on the weekend is almost impossible because of how packed it is and they might have 2 bar tenders, the place stinks, your shoes stick to the floor, definitely a dive bar read more

The burgers here would rank 5 stars on their own: thick, juicy, tasty and on a sesame seed bun. Order the combo mix of onion rings and fries to go with it. Good selection of beers too. The Rainbow is not a gay bar, nor is it as much a dive as it might appear. The owner and the staff are friendly; the customers a bit more mixed. I go for lunch and always have a great time. Yes, a great little bar, but contrary to what others said, we enjoyed superb quick service and $7 lunch special served 11-4. (You can get same for about $8-$9 any time of day, depending on what you choose as toppings.) I'm from the South (of Owosso) in America ("South America"), and never had been to the place before. Often take visitors to Curwood Castle in Owosso (GPS 42.9998207, -84.1751345), and to admire the beautiful old homes on the North side of the Shiawassee River. First timer at Rainbow Bar. So, I came here on my way through town due to a number of great reviews. Just wanted a happy hour beer on my way home. Have to say that my 2 star rating was a gift. I can't speak for the food, but I can speak to the service. It took at least 5 minutes sitting at the bar to even get acknowledged. Wait a minute, what about the amazing bartender and service I read about...? I mean, including myself, there are 6 other people in here. Anyway, I finally got a beer from the bartender/short order cook. He was working the grill, had greasy hands, and wiped them off with paper towels. Then he proceeded to grab a plastic cup and wipe down the water residue with another paper towel. He then poured the beer, which has, oddly enough, greasy fingerprints all over the plastic. The entire place looks dirty and I wonder if the tap lines have ever been cleaned. It smells like vomit or something and the smell just seems to keep working it's way right into my nostrils! Well, at least there's no music and the tv is playing an episode of Cops. I'm generally pretty hard core, but can't believe anyone would Ever give this place 5 stars. I'll never be back... read more

Pretty disappointed. The place had lots of potential. Cool old school "dive" bar. (I hate that category. Everything other than new and trendy seems to be a dive bar). The staff was very cordial and friendly. The locals were being local. The beer selection was crap but there was one there that was drinkable. The prices were fair. But I honestly can't say that the burger is anywhere near being as great as others say. Add in the crappy loud music on the jukebox and I'll give it a three. read more
