Everything is so unique, and the connection that Aimee and Heather have to the vendors they carry seems so special. There is always a meaningful story or fun fact about any product I buy there. A full service pottery shop, customers have the option to paint ready-made pottery, use a pottery wheel to craft a piece from scratch, or really get hands-on and use your hands to mold your own beautiful work of art. At the Yelp New Jersey Elite event, the hand building class was quite an experience where the friendly owners and staff showed us how to take a ball of clay and using pinch pot form, style it into a bowl. Once the bowl shape took form, we embellished the clay with molds to add design elements. I loved the paw print mold! The staff was very helpful to assist and made sure the art was sturdy and ready for the oven. We got to pick what color we wanted and the staff will paint it later. Pieces are usually ready 3-4 weeks after your visit, so it is a great reason to come back to the area to pick up the finished art. I loved to learn the location is dog friendly, as long as your dog is well-behaved. Since the experience requires full attention and is hands-on, being in control of your pup is extra important. There was a doggie guest there during my visit and was a perfect pup. Blue Skies Pottery also hosts events and collaborates with local businesses including hosting a paw print ornament workshop with the pet store next door. It is also clear to me they have never actually sent a letter themselves, they had no idea you cant use the space where the stamp goes, they tried to convince us that having envelope text at the very top or very bottom was normal, it isn't. After we received our prints, which were all-around amatuer, we demanded they redo them correctly. They offered to re-print from the Princeton location. The re-prints were even worse, cartoonishly large text covering corner to corner of the envelope. It was so bad that we had to send out the originals, which was completely embarassing. An unsusual percentage of our invites got lossed in the mail, Id say around 20%. I blame the papery for this, not the postal service. My conclusion is that this isn't a real business. A business wants to do a good job and retain repeat. A hobby business is one that thinks they can prey on big purse strings and do a amatuer job with no consequences. They might win a few paydays, but will never be profitable. We didn't even have high tastes for this, we just wanted something normal. They were not able to produce a normal invitation and addressed envelope, even when redoing their work. The work they produced was completely unacceptable.

I have never felt rushed, I would stay for 3-4 hours just painting and chatting with my friends. And best of all, my pieces came out beautiful all 3 times!
