June and her partner Rose Were very accommodating, polite and humble throughout the experience. Made us both feel comfortable and relaxed from the start. The combination of yoga, Thai and deep tissue massage as were amazing. I'm a talker and was very appreciative June put up with my conversation while my wife grunted and groaned from the treatment she was receiving. Wife and I just had a 90min couples massage for Valentines Day. Thai Massage is not your regular massage. Don't plan on taking a siesta while they're working on you. My back and shoulder pain was getting worse, so I finally caved and started looking for a legit Thai massage place. This place had great reviews, so I gave it a try. I knew the place was the real deal when I saw the massage room and it had the hand rails on the ceiling (which allows the masseuse to walk on your back). Traditional Thai massage is amazing! June is the best. Very strong and professional. I've been back several times now, and my back and shoulder pain is slowly going away. The cost is reasonable as well. I would highly recommend! My wife and I went in to get a massage that was much needed after moving to Oxnard. Gail was my masseuse and June my wife's. This is a traditional in Thai massage but instead of lying on a flat platform they had a custom table which you could lie facedown on a doughnut. I work out a lot and usually carry a lot of tension in my back. I asked Gail not to hold back. Along with an amazing deep tissue massage, she cracked my back, and stretched my whole body. I felt more loose after than I had in years. My wife who prefers a lighter massage told June so and was beaming afterwards and was so excited to find our new go to massage place. So before you choose to have this type of massage you need to understand it is not your typical 50 minute "go to sleep" type of rubdown. If you are a fan of Thai massages, &/or you have a lot of stress and tension knots in your body and not a lot of flexibility, you want to come here to be worked on to relieve muscle tension, stress and stretch you out. I haven't been sleeping well for a week as my neck and shoulders and upper back were killing me probably from poor posture and bad couches at home! After reading the Yelp reviews for Rain Thai Massage, I called up June and requested an hour and a half appointment. I didn't even ask how much it was going to be because I knew that a massage would be be well worth it! She uses her hands, feet, legs and whole body to work on your knots. If you think a Swedish massage is tough, you may not be able to handle this! She is from Thailand and learned the technique while she lived there, but of course in the United States you have to go to school and be certified to be a masseuse, so when she arrived here she attended school and received her certification. How do I know this? I discussed this with her while she worked on me. You do not have to talk to her as she can work on you in silence, but it is not relaxing in any way. Actually, it's quite a workout to try and talk while she contorts your body into a pretzel. She twists and bends and lifts and stretches you in directions that you probably haven't done with your body in at least 20 years, and she finds lumps and knots where you didn't even know you could get any. That's a true Thai masseuse's talent & magic. I had a " Come to Jesus" epiphany with my body after my back was stretched & it cracked & popped....in a GREAT way! At the end of the session, she brushes your body with a very warm towel then rubs off the excess oil and lotion but continues to massage. At the end, you are left sore & yet rejuvenated. Working out deep knots and tension is not a walk in the park and does not necessarily feel good, but the end result of loosened muscles & tension rubbed out is something you will thank your heavenly being once they are finished with you. You won't go home and take a nap that's for sure! You might have some difficulties moving around but you should feel looser and much more flexible afterwards. Rain Thai Massage converted me, again, to a huge fan! I will definitely be scheduling one of these at least once a month. It does so much good for your overall health & well-being. Treat yourself to this amazing therapy. It could help prevent you from having to see a doctor or having surgery for stress & tension pains. If I could, I would give 10 stars! It is beautifully decorated, quiet & clean! This is not a cheesy massage joint, but a bona fide therapeutic massage place where a "happy ending" is your body having the ability to move better and stress and tension melts away from your muscles. read more

Initially wanted to do a deep tissue because that's what I've done with previous massage establishments; however Kate suggested Thai Combo due to how tight my shoulder/back/hips were from baby and breastfeeding.
