I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this amazing preschool and daycare. In the past three years, since my daughter began attending this school, our daughter has blossomed into a smart, clever, well-rounded child ready for Kindergarten. Her academic knowledge is far beyond that of a 5-year-old. Thanks to the program she has wide knowledge in colors, letters, numbers, writing skills, cutting, and arts-and-crafts. She knows all the months of the year and all the days of the week. She is able to spell and write her name. She is able to spell words and is even beginning to read smaller words. She knows her address and phone number by heart. The amount of puzzles that the teachers provided has helped my daughter to think outside the box. The rhymes and stories you read have helped her develop a love of reading! I can go on forever with all the things she learned at your Daycare, but here's the bottom line: Just last month, she had her Kindergarten Assessment test and she passed it with flying colors and very high scores! We noticed how much she learned in social skills and communication, as well. She is better able to play with others and share. We are very happy with the fact that the group consists of kids at different ages. When she entered this daycare at age 2, she was the youngest and was eager to catch up to the older kids, which is what I think helped her learn faster. Now she's the older kid in class, surrounded by younger children. This has helped her to become more caring and patient. My husband and I are also very satisfied with the well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks our daughter received daily at this Daycare. The fact that these meals and snacks are Home-Made is a huge plus as well. My daughter always raved about how good and delicious her lunches were! The loving environment and the strong academic program have helped my tiny toddler become a well-rounded preschooler ready to take on the world. She has built friendships here that, I'm sure, will last her many more years! Most of all my husband and I appreciate the teachers' honesty. Thanks to them we always knew exactly what was going on with our child, both academically and behaviorally. Whether it was good or not so good, they always told it to us like it is, and for that we are very grateful. Before we choose this school, we visited about 10 other preshcool/daycare facilities and were very apprehensive about most/all of them. We were really starting to worry that we wouldnt find a suitable option for our child. When we went for a tour of this school, I knew pretty quickly that we had found our answer. The school was/is clean, well lit, well staffed, the children were all happy and attentive, we heard little to no crying, and NO yelling from teachers. The teachers were interacting with the children and really seemed to be paying attention to them. We enrolled the following week and couldnt be happier. All 3 of my children have attended RJS, and we have been SO happy with our choice! My older 2 are both in public school now, and their teachers had to work hard to create challenging work for them. Happy Hippo taught them so much that they are academically ahead of many children their age. Their small classes help them create a loving, nurturing, safe environment for the kids to learn and grow. All of the teachers here have been AMAZING, my older kids love to visit them and alwys have hugs for them. read more

We moved to Pittsburg and were fearful about the educational choices for our young son. He was bright and we thought we needed to commute him into another community in order to get a great education. We were wrong. We found Railroad Junction and Ms. Lilly and took a chance. He thrived there. The school had a reputation for preparing children to enter school a grade level ahead and that is what happened for our son. By the time he was admitted to Redwood Day School for first grade, he was leaps and bounds ahead of the students. Railroad Junction worked to cultivate his educational and social skills. As he enters college to study aerospace engineering this year, he shared that he believes it is the fact that he learned to read so early that has been a key to his success throughout his secondary educational experience. He has always been a leader and individual thinker, skills emphasized in those early years at Railroad Junction. The school is both rigorous and loving. We love this preschool!! My youngest daughter still attends and I cannot say enough good things about it. My only complaint is I wish they would open on Saturday. I was told they are also looking into a vegetarian menu, but I don't think they have t yet. My two children absolutely thrived in the calm, happy, and stimulating environment that is provided here. The teachers are so thoughtful and intentional about how they structure the day for the children in each age group. The teachers are attentive and engaged with the children. They encourage kindness, good manners, and an awareness of others. It is particularly noticeable how content all the children are at the preschool. Children of all ages are happy, energetic without being frantic, engaged and enthusiastic about the variety of learning and play opportunities which are available to them. This is just fantastic school top to bottom. When we were looking for preschools most of them you had to make appointments to go see and get a tour.. however, we happened to be across the street and decided to just "pop on in" to find out more about it (figured we would just get a brochure)... however, we got the full tour right on the spot and could quickly see that our son would be happy here. Well... over a year later and he LOVES IT! He looks forward to going to school everyday and I can see why.. they really pay attention to the kids and what they want/need. My daughter has been at this school for two years...why? Value!! It's because of the AWESOME staff. This Staff love, love, LOVES these kids! If you need your child to be nurtured while you work, best place, EVER!!! The most redeeming quality of this school is their pre- K teacher and Kindergarten teacher! By the time your child graduates here, they are more than ready to not only be in 1st grade, but ahead of the curve. These teachers are dedicated to their students!! This is the biggest reason why I kept my daughter there for the second year. I am not the most well off, but EVERY dollar spent here has been VERY WORTH IT! read more

As a mom, I am so thrilled to bring my son to RJS. Beautiful, bright facilities, warm and caring staff, smiles everywhere! My 2-year-old loves Miss Karen. Creative, fun, happy with great activities - just the kind of place I wanted for my little guy. Lots of hugs, manners, boundaries, singing, dancing, art projects, firm but gentle discipline, reading, excitement and naps on cots. In the beginning I called a LOT to check up on him and his separation anxiety and never picked up a single negative annoyed vibe. This preschool is PHENOMENAL. The teachers are nothing short of exceptional. Our daughter attended preschool here from 2012-2014. She started off as an extremely shy child yet one who couldn't sit still for circle time. Literally within 2 days, we started seeing a change in her. She blossomed into an outgoing, generous, loving child who can concentrate, listen and follow directions. Her speech at 2 & 3 & 4 yrs old is amazing. I love Railroad Junction and my children absolutely love it. My children have been going to school here since March 2015 and I have seen nothing but steady growth from my children. My children are 2 and 3 years old and within the week they were already adjusted. Mrs. Lilly is very professional and kind hearted. She will work with your schedule and make you feel at home. The staff at this preschool are incredible caring of the children and their education and take it very seriously. The school plans wonderful activities for the children to attend and they encourage the children to make friends, all the while they are learning what they need to prepare them for entering school. Our granddaughter has been going there since April. We absolutely love this place. They are so engaging with the children and they actually TEACH the children during classroom time. When I picked my granddaughter up a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving she was telling me all about cornucopias...I was blown away because she completely knew what it was and she is only 4!! read more

Absolutely wonderful!! Mrs. Lilly is so welcoming and loving. The center is clean and the staff are friendly. My two babies aged 2yrs old and 3yrs old and within a day they were already adjusted and loving it. Great choice for my children. I feel at ease and know that my children are taken care of. Railroad Junction daycare is one of the best daycare center i found out in Pittsburg. I am telling this from my personal experience. They are really friendly and helpful.
