Just a warning to anyone who may have a local psychiatrist or lives in milford looking for one…read morethere- PLEASE HEED my warning anyone struggling with mental health stay as far away as possible from Copley health on 105 E Main st. Specifically the nurse/psychiatrist BETTY YU. This isn't just a rant or hate post or anything revegeful etc. I need to bring awareness of what they do to people so that no one has to go through what I did, and am still currently. Last year, when I met her and thought she was so sweet and caring and I was relieved to find a doctor to help me. So relieved that I referred 4 close people in my life. After doing this, she broke confidentiality (HIPPA) and hit on my boyfriend, told him and every other friend that I was "a mess and probably never going to get better". She told my boyfriend word for word- "you seem like a hard worker, Rachel has a lot to gain from you but it looks to me you have absolutely nothing you could benefit from being with her ". I was infuriated, but terrified to be pulled off my FIVE medications I was prescribed, and due to my fear she labeled me as "crazy and unstable". Imagine a doctor, someone who signs up specifically to work in mental health, saying and treating anyone this way. Fast forward to present time, about 10 months later, because of my complaints and concerns to the offices MANAGER/OWNER, KATIA- her solution to this issue was to just get rid of me, and gave me a termination letter stating as of "(insert date) we will no longer see you prescribe you OR TAKE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY OR LIABILITY, and you will need to seek services elsewhere" Now, you do not put someone on several medications (I won't list them but they are the types you can have serious complications from if you don't safely taper off) and then say you're going to just pretend it basically never happened, put the blame and the solution on me instead of themselves. I won't keep making the post longer and longer, but I'll end it with this- I've since had 3 other appointments with other doctors, and all they'll tell me is "they cannot continue my medications, including any tapering off of, due to reading my recent medical file". Aka whatever this evil person (cannot even call her a doctor) wrote, is preventing me from even finding new care. I'm being forced to seek legal help and am working with an attorney because that is how horrific of a situation she has put me through, along with the entire company as a whole. Anyone who took the time to read this, PLEASE spread the word and please don't call or go to that terrifying excuse of a medical office.

I'm writing this review to warn others about my deeply harmful experience at Riverside Community…read moreCare - Somerville Outpatient Center. The care I received here was unethical, invalidating, and, at times, felt more like being trapped than being helped. I was assigned to Fernanda Greco Quentel (LMHC) as my therapist, and instead of being met with understanding, I was quickly labeled with "psychosis" -- a label she repeated every session, no matter what I said or how I was feeling. She didn't listen, didn't engage with my actual concerns, and made me feel like my voice didn't matter at all. Even after my symptoms improved, Fernanda insisted I remain on psychiatric medication -- which would be a prescriber's decision. However, Fernanda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, not a prescriber, and she has no legal or ethical authority to make those decisions. Her pushing of medication recommendations was not only inappropriate, it was a serious boundary violation that made me feel coerced and unsafe. As for prescribers, I initially worked with Lexi, who was wonderful -- compassionate, honest, and told me that I wouldn't be on medication forever. But once she went on maternity leave, it was like a revolving door. I was assigned three different prescribers in a row, each one more rushed and detached than the last. They would come in, do a five-minute check-in, change meds, and disappear. It felt like being passed around, not treated. Under Fernanda's care, I attempted suicide twice. That's how invalidated, unheard, and unsafe I felt during this time. I needed care, support, and understanding -- not judgment and control. Instead of therapy being a space to heal, it became a source of distress. When I finally built up the courage to advocate for myself and ask to switch therapists, I was met with more gatekeeping. The front desk employee, Amy Alther, told me that I would have to speak to Fernanda directly before switching. Excuse me? That's not how trauma-informed care works. It felt like I was being forced into an uncomfortable, guilt-ridden confrontation -- like someone saying, "You need to tell us why you're leaving," as if I was breaking up with a partner or exiting an immigration office. Therapy is supposed to be a personal choice, not a loyalty test. At that point, I realized I had no safe avenue to be heard. So I took my care elsewhere -- and I'm so glad I did. If you're looking for respectful, ethical, and truly client-centered mental health care, I strongly urge you to look somewhere else. This place made my mental health worse, not better.

While my psychiatrist was fine, I have to say that the practices here are awful. Every year to 6…read moremonths, they force you to switch therapists, and while consideration is given to who you get, the constant switching prevents you from building any rapport or history with them, which I've found is horrible for the client. Before I went here, I had a therapist/psychiatrist since I was 7, and that history helped me so much. Now, to what made me write this review. I've been on a certain prescription medication for years and before I switched, I never had a problem getting it in person. When my old psychiatrist retired and I ended up here, I began having problems getting one particular medication. This all came to a head today, when I walked into the CVS pharmacy in Medway, I was told that my prescription had, in fact, not been ordered. I had called twice before this week, once to order the meds, the second to make sure the meds were insurance safe (another can of worms -- in essence, the doctor did not send in a letter that allowed me to get my pills under masshealth and forced me to pay $68-69 for 10 pills and the pharmacy had to walk me through getting the letter...). I walked into the pharmacy to get my pills and lo and behold, they were not there. I had run out of pills this morning, and this medication is one that I cannot go without, so when I heard this, I called this company. The response? "Oh, the dr must have forgot to send it out." For crying out loud! You're a doctor, you can't just forget these things! To make a long story short, I went back at 8:30 and they STILL HADN'T SENT THE PRESCRIPTION IN! HOW???? and since it's a controlled substance, the pharmacy can't give me some without a prescription. HOW DOES A COMPANY IN CHARGE OF SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT FAIL SOMETHING SO SIMPLE????? IMAGINE IF IT WERE SOMETHING THAT A PERSON NEEDED TO LIVE? They would probably say, "Oops, sorry," to the family if the person died. In essence, don't go here. They will treat you with a nonchalance that is frightening.

I started receiving services here under another Psychiatrist who left (for another job that offered…read morea shorter commute, not for any dissatisfaction.) When they left I was going to find another Psych/office simply for the fact I prefer a male therapist/psychiatrist. When I explained this over the phone while they were trying to set me up with an appointment with Dr. Berry they said I would only have to see her temporarily until they hired a new Psych (another male to replace the one who left), so I said 'ok sure'. My first appointment with her ended up being scheduled for the day I found out my mom committed suicide, literally scheduled for what ended up being 2 hours after I found out... I'm sure that was a first for her (previously scheduled appointment with a new patient who walks in almost right after finding something out like that)- however she handled that appointment as calmly as though it has happened a hundred times before. She gave me great insight into processing what happened, while also being a great listener, and not once ever 'saying the wrong thing' which can happen when you're in that sensitive of a moment. Well, I saw her after that with a concern over a undesirable side effect of the medication I was taking and she recommended me something that the previous Psych I had seen didn't know of, that is able to help with what I need AND not have this particular side effect. I am currently still waiting for them to hire a new male Psych, because Dr. Berry's case load is too much to take on new patients on a permanent basis- but I just wanted to write this review to exemplify how I do have a preference for gender relating to this field of medicine/situation, and she was able to impress and satisfy even me! As a side note their offices are very nice and the waiting room area is very appropriate for this line of work.

I'm honestly not someone who usually writes reviews, but my experience with Marisa has been so…read moreimpactful that I felt like I had to share. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I'm so grateful to have found her and truly can't recommend her enough.
