We booked our reservation online, super simple. Found parking across the street. On a weekday afternoon we were the only two customers! Safety briefing first then Got instructional lessons on how to use two types of axes (one regular "Hachette" and a long handled one). I really surprised myself on how good I was! We had our vs. competition with the instructor as the judge. Had to go 5 rounds to break the tie :) awesome time! They took our pictures at the end and posted them on Facebook the next day. read more

Rage - Side by side for our competition after instruction session - Axe Throwing Near Me - Montreal, Quebec

I went there with collegues this week, and it was SO FUN. It was a bit scary in the beginning, because I was worried of how the axe could bounce back and stuff, but I soon realized I probably didn't have the strength to make it bounce back that far anyways so... There's of course basic safety rules that are clearly explained, and there's a waiver to sign - which is pretty standard wherever "combat sport" is involved. There's three different sizes of axes, which all have to be thrown in a slightly different manner. I couldn't really hold the largest one up for very long, so I mostly used the smallest one. I have to say that I only managed to hit the target correctly twice, but it was still a fantastic session! Everybody had a blast! One guy from France now wants to become French-Canadian, and another dude wants to set up axe throwing at home. The music they played was really nice (System of a Down, Rammstein, David Hasselhoff (?!)). It wasn't too loud, and the rock/metal mix energized the place. Close to the front desk, there were even some branded leather goods for sale! The training/service was very professional and friendly. We also appreciated how the group pictures taken at the end of the session had a studio-like quality. They made great souvenirs! I recommended this place to my friends. Very good prices when attended as a larger group. read more

Had so much fun!! The place is really cool, instructors are very friendly and definitely give you good tips to get it right. Way better explanations than what you have in NYC. The hour literally disappeared! That's how much fun it was. Will definitely go back! read more

What a great place to go with friends, a group of people or a date. Who knew axe throwing was this fun?! This isn't as easy as it seems; thankfully, workers are there to help. Also, there's a score sheet to keep track of your points, which makes it that much more interesting. I recommend trying! read more

Ever wanted to be a hipster lumberjack? How about a Wildling warrior? This is your chance. This is the perfect group activity for anyone looking for something new (we came for a bachelor party and worked well for a group of 9). Don't be intimidated and give it a try. They start you out with a safety lesson and explanation on proper form. Most people pick it up after a short while and it's safe as long as you follow directions and wait until all axes are not in motion. They have a few different sized hatchets to try out with different throwing styles. If you can hold the heavier axes they tend to be a bit easier to guide in the air. The staff is helpful and have just the right amount of attitude. Overall it was a great time and we got some great group and individual photos. I'm very happy we discovered this place and wouldn't be surprised to see new branches pop up. read more

Who would have thought ax throwing could be so fun?? I seriously had my doubts when a member of our group chose the activity but decided to give it a try. It takes a lot more skill and thought than you think to make the ax stick in the board. The friendly staff provide a very thorough explanation of safety and technique before the session and were around to help if needed. In my last lifetime, I was some kind of lumberwoman or ax throwing ninja because I caught on pretty fast. Our group had a great time and were sad to see our hour end so quickly. If this were in Los Angeles, I would love to come back. read more

I came to this establishment after work with a colleague and what a blast I had. How it works: You get a lane with a target (sort of like darts) and an axe. A staff member explains the rules and the safety precautions as well as the basic technique on how to throw the axe at the target. It was a little difficult at first but the helpful and patient staff member stuck around until I got the hang of it. Once I got the jist of it, I had a blast. Talk about letting out my rage. I would highly recommend this activity to let out some steam or to simply have fun. I enjoyed myself so much I stayed an extra hour. Looking forward to the next time I let out some rage! read more

If you would have told me throwing an axe at a target for an hour was theraputic.... I would have thought you were full of crap... but it is true..... and it's incredibly fun! Been here a few times and every time it's been an awesome experience. The pricing is good, the staff are fun & friendly and most importantly... the activity is so much fun! Caution : Throwing an axe, even the small ones require some strength. Practise throwing something non lethal that weighs about 5 pounds at a target of about 20 feet at eye level. If you can't make it, you'll be having a hard time here and may impact your experience. My home remedy? Just pretend it's your ex. read more

My husband and sister and I accidentally found this place while we were visiting Montreal for the F1. Obviously we had to try it out since you won't find an axe-throwing range anywhere in the states (just gun ranges...). We went on a Saturday around 6PM and were able to walk in. They do recommend you make a reservation online to ensure a spot. You do need to wear closed toes shoes in order to throw (duh), and they have you sign a waiver. And if needs to be said, you also can't throw axes if you've been drinking or smoking weed. It costs $40 for up to 3 people for one hour/one target. Val was our instructor and was super personable and helpful. The men and women who work here obviously really love what they do which comes across in the experience. Did it help that my sister is a hot blonde? Probably...but I still think you'll get excellent service regardless :) We all definitely recommend coming here if your'e in Montreal or any of their other locations around Canada. Hopefully, someone will open one near DC (wink, wink). read more

I think my husband found a new hobby! Who would have thought that we'd love this place?!? Not only are the staff so informative, they are friendly and helpful! They even taught us the history of axe throwing and went out of their way to research the nearest axe throwing venue near our home. They even showed us their own axes!!! We will definitely be back!!! read more

There is something strangely relaxing about axe throwing. If you are hesitant about the overall experience, don't worry. Follow the rules and pay attention to whomever 'axe master' is assigned to your group. They will guide you through the process as well as show and fix your technique along the way. A very unique way to have fun, but they will also ensure your safety! read more

Great idea and friendly staff. Try it. It is not as hard as it looks after you are trained with the expertise. read more

Rage - Axe Throwing Near Me - Montreal, Quebec

There is no better way to release your stress! The anger from within turns into powerful throws. What i loved the most about the activity is the staff: thematically dressed as vikings and each one with animal's name. Our trainer was "the Wolf"! They teach you how to throw the axe and eventually correct your mistakes until you hit the bullseye. After an hour of throwing your arm gets a little bit tired - like a good day at the gym. Except with axes :) I recommend it to all who love physical activities! read more

This place is great! Came here for an event and the staff were very friendly. If you've never done it before, no worries, the staff will help you through it and teach you the proper way to throw axes. Definitely an interesting experience! Do remember to wear proper footwear though! read more

Our group had an absolute blast! We appreciated the instruction from the staff and we found that we could pick it up fairly quickly. It was a fun, unique way to let out any pent up anger we may or may not have had. read more

Wayyy harder then it looks! But it's still a load of fun. I would have given 5 stars if I didn't think I could have heat exhaustion. There were no AC. I could not handle myself at the end of the night. But the rest was really fun. read more

Not only is throwing axes inherently awesome, the atmosphere is pretty chill. We brought our entire office for an hour of axe throwing and everyone had a blast. The instructors also did an excellent job of demonstrating the proper techniques of axe throwing, which made the experience more enjoyable. Came here while visiting Montreal while we were staying in Vermont with my fiancee. We had reservations, but since they had open lanes they allowed us to go in early after signing the short release form. A quick 10 minute lesson & then they give you a score card to compete against your friends & we were off throwing like seasoned lumberjacks. Our instructor (Illian?) was helpful & friendly. It can get warm, and throwing axes keeps you moving so dress appropriately, but no open toed shoes. There are tons of restaurants nearby, and there's street parking if you can find it, but I parked in the lot at a motel/mall a few blocks away. Bonus: With the exchange rate, the $40 Canadian lane fee was under $30 US. read more

My best friend and I came here as part of my bachelorette activity and we had a blast! The staff are amazing and give you plenty of guidance to make sure you get the axe on the target. Do you know those moments when you need to throw something? Well Rage Montreal is a perfect place to do so!!! Came to throw some axes with my friends a couple of days ago and it was AMAZING!!! At first you don't really get the goal, but once you got it you start to feel BADASS and start to play with axes!!! The staff was friendly and really cool. The place looks really nice. I wasn't sure what to expect when coming here for axe throwing but I honestly thought it was a lot of fun ! They take the time to show you how to handle the axes and the proper way to throw them safely. They do keep an eye on you from a distance to make sure everyone is okay and safe but without invading your space. Pricing and rules are all clearly listed on their website. This is a fun group activity and would make a great team building exercise as well. Definitely make reservations especially on the weekend to make sure you get a spot as it was very busy. You can keep score of your points on screen and you get to use 3 different kinds of axes ! They're not overly heavy so people of various strengths are able to participate. Although needless to say this is not an activity for children. They have an area where you can take pictures with some logs and axes. They take a group picture of you at the end as well. Lastly , word of warning don't wear open toed shoes or high heels or any type of shoe that would expose part of your feet or compromise your balance as these are understandably not allowed. This is a great and original way to spend some time with friends , a date or with coworkers ! read more

This is a great place to get out your frustrations. I loved it. Adam enthusiastically and patiently instructed on how to throw an axe at the target and then I had about an hour to practice. I left tired but left with a dead center bulls-eye on my last throw. Well worth the time and money. I'm hooked. read more

I came here with as a group of 4. We ran 15 minutes late and they were kind enough to let us have our full hour with the axes! Was looking for something fun/Canadian to do during my bachelorette weekend getaway from the US that was relatively inexpensive. This was PERFECT. For ~$40 we could get a lane for 3 people to learn to throw axes and throw for a whole hour. The staff was very informational and fun. It was certainly the highlight of the trip to take pictures with our successful throws. Some of my less athletic friends even got the hang of it by the end so do not be intimated and definitely book RAGE for your next group outing. read more
