Now that I've tried both activities offered here I feel more knowledgeable to give my full review. This place rocks! Dodgebow: basically dodge ball with bows and arrows. It's high intensity and high cardio. You will break a sweat! They have tons of different scenarios you can try out so you won't get bored of the game. It'll be a little awkward at first because of the face mask and the arm protection band but you get used to it. It's the perfect activity for a birthday party or a friend hangout. I'd love to go back with my family. Force Academy: we've all wondered what it would be like to wield a light saber. It's definitely harder than it looks. My arm was so weak and I'm so short it kept hitting the ground. But by the end of my session I was decent! They teach you some cool moves just like in the movies and they put you in some cool scenarios to practice. The staff is great. Super friendly. They'll teach you everything you need to know and then it's up to you. I had Zack both times I went and I really like him. Some things to remember before you go: - get there early, there are wavers to sign - be dressed to do some physical activity - if you're a small group you might be with strangers so if you don't like that idea, reserve for your group only. - bring a lock for the locker area - sign up for their newsletter. I booked this place for my friend's bachelorette party. We had a really large coed group, so some fun activity was perfect. This place is a little bit outside downtown Montreal but an easy Uber ride. There's 1 large "arena" and you're generally split up in 2 competing teams. Think archery plus dodgeball and you get the gist of the game. All the arrows have foam tips on them so didn't hurt at all if you get hit with one. This was actually pretty good exercise for an hour since it involved a lot of short sprints to get arrows and getting back to the hiding place. My arm was also sore for a couple days after for holding up the bow! We all sucked badly, blaming it on the bar crawl the night before but absolutely had a blast! read more

Such an original concept! Dodgeball, but with a bow and arrows: basically all the fun of paintball without the bruises. And you feel really badass wielding that bow and dodging arrows. Definitely a good workout! The employees and activity leaders were awesome. Can't recommend this place enough, especially with the new activities they're planning. I really had a blast! read more

When asking Montreal Yelp Elite for recommendations of what to do in Montreal, the only thing that consistently recommended was Dodgebow. This sounded like a perfect activity for a bunch of hungover people at a bachelor party (no sarcasm, we had a great time). Our group arrived early, hungover and all, to ensure we got our full hour of play in. The dodge bow facility is located within a warehouse with very few signs, making it a bit hard for us to find the place. I would suggest getting some more signage up to make sure people don't get lost. When we walked in the Dodgebow employees were finishing up a kid's birthday party with nerf guns (this looked like a ton of fun). After getting our disclaimer forms filled out, we went into the arena to learn and practice shooting their arrows. After a brief explanation by the trainer, it became very intuitive to notch the arrows and fire them across the room fluidly. As people slowly filed in, we were split into two different teams and the games got started. We played a few different games and definitely got our cardio going. I particularly liked the zombie one (cause that was the only one my team won)! After an hour of play we were already beat tired (might also be because we were hungover too). Dodgebow is definitely a fun team exercise and activity to do. Make sure you have to show up early to sign the release and to get some practice, some people in our session didn't make it on time and only got to play for 15 mins! They were switching their entrances, so the place was very hard to find, but it was well worth the struggle!!! My family and a few others came in on a tuesday and had the whole place to ourselves. It was so much fun! Definitely a good work out and if you're wondering, the arrows feel just like actual dodgeballs at their hardest when they hit you. The service there was great! This is a fun concept that I think more cities should bring in! read more

DodgeBow... basically dodgeball but with archery, also known as archery tag I did this only once, but I am itching to go back already! One of my friends convinced me to go I was a little reluctant in the beginning, thinking, I am terribly unathletic and I will just pass out halfway through the game I'm sure... also, I have never shot an arrow in my life. The closest i've gotten to archery was watching Legolas do it in the Lord of the Rings. but boy am I glad I went! It was so much fun! So you show up a bit early, sign some waivers (obviously), and then there's a 15 minute session where someone will coach you on how to put on your gear and how to actually use the bow and arrow and shoot - if you are anything like me and don't work out much, it'll take you a couple minutes to get a hang of it, but don't expect to be a master at it... you will look cool though. The coaches/staff were super nice and friendly as well. Then the games begin. To keep things interesting, there are several different games that we play over the course of the hour. Each game with a different goal e.g. medic, zombie etc it was a lot of fun, a lot of running around, dodging flying arrows (and occasionally getting hit... and yes, the tips are foam tips, but they still hurt a little) At the end of the game, I just wished that I can continue and play more! What at did not expect was the next day, my muscles were aching like mad, i could barely walk up the stairs properly... but that's just because I am completely out of shape. but even then I STILL want to go back, you can imagine how much fun I had. Definitely recommended to go with a group of friends, you may be mixed with some strangers as well. Probably not a good game to play with small children lol... All in all, great experience, loved it! read more

This is a lovely place to play games in group! They have different games with archery and dodgeball. I love that it's way less smelly than paintball and similar or even more fun! So, if you are looking for a good place and fun activity for team building, new student integration, sportive party etc, better not miss this place ;) read more

I came here with my boyfriend and fellow yelp elite members. This event was so much fun! It was definitely one of my favorites. Thank you yelp for making me discover dodgebow. It was more intense than I expected. I was sweating! I liked that there were different games that we could play. The staff and owner were so funny and nice. I will definitely be back with friends and/or colleagues. I can't wait to see this Maze that Adam was talking about! read more

This place was so much more fun than I expected! I was looking for a unique activity for a bachelor party and this sounded like a good time. Part of me was worried that it would be kind of lame but I was totally wrong. It was a blast! It was super competitive and also highly aerobic. You can make it as strenuous as you want depending on how competitive you are! Nothing gets rid of a hangover like ducking and diving behind cover while shooting your friends in the face! I was worried that 1 hour would be too short, but it was the perfect amount of time for how highly active it is. The coach/ref we had was awesome and made it really fun too! One of my favourite Yelp Elite events ever, hands down. I wasn't sure what to expect at first but since I love paintball I figured I'd like Dodgebow. It's just as competitive, fast-paced and strategic except the hits don't hurt as much ;) Great in the summer especially, since you won't be sporting bruises! The staff is so friendly and awesome- they gave us tons of helpful tips and kept us entertained with a variety of games.
