It's a beautiful place to live and the location is amazing as you can walk out to downtown San Rafael with restaurants, bars, music and everything else you need. 5 minutes to the 101 freeway and the security for the building and residences are excellent. Rafael Town Center Plaza is the row of commercial eateries on the ground floor of the Town Center. the tenants are fairly constant. Barney's (Burgers) is the only departure in recent years. Julie's Hummus, Chonmage (Ramen), Magnolia Park Kithchen (soups, sandwiches), Coldstone Creamery, Arizmendi (Pizza), Starbucks, have been here for years. this is a great place to dine at provided parking can be found nearby. couldn't find any recently so didn't get to experience Julie's Hummus yet. read more

Truly Honest Review from a tenant who lived here for almost 4 years. I have NO idea what the 2 recent reivews below me are referring to; maybe they were hired by competetitors lol. #1- Jimi & Trini - best property mangers I've personally ever had; not many will answer a text at 11pm on a Friday night when youve locked yourslef out, get in touch ith a maintnenace orker who lives by n and get you in. Jimi ALWAYS answered texts within minutes usually, if not, no more than a day. Any time I stopped by the leasing office Trini would be there and willing to help with whatever I needed. #2 - Maintenance - maybe the person below didnt know how to submit a request? No clue but Roger and co were awesome. Sometimes I would submit a request and have someone show up in like 5 minutes to unclog sink/replace fire detector. #3 - Parking - I lol'ed at the review claiming te ;death trap of fumes' or whatever he said; did this guy sit next to his car while it was running or somehting before writing his review? Idk. But The parking is AMAZING. 2 HUGE levels - double gated off so never have to worry about getting broken into. The lower level is literally EMPTY so dont have to worry about ever getting a scatch on your car. Multiple elevators on both sides so easy access to either side of the building. #4 - Cleanliness - recently they repainted the hallways and looks SO much better. The place smells like a hotel//was pleasant. I never encountered anything of what other revieweer was tlaking about. REMINDER - I lived here FOUR years. My only complaint about cleanliness is that the power washers twice a year started too early lolll but htye power washed EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGGG. floors, walls, patio, etc. #5 Amenities - Courtyard is chill - fireplace and a shared grill plus a bunch of seating and tables with umbrellas. Also the waterfall was amazing white noise when sleeping. Business center is NEVER used - but is very nice. The gym has everything you need - nothing special but has 12 or so treadmills elipticals, dumbbells up to 65 - 7 machines and a TRX/crossfit center. No clue what the person meant re: the cleanliness of the gym; all tenants were respectable when I used it. Laundry setup is phenomenal. New Keypad entry is great. I loved MY balcony - got a patio daybed out there and a TV; was perfect. Yes, it started to get a bit pricey but what do you expect? Its the nicest apartment building in Marin considering location/accessibltiy, amenities, quality & size of apartements, outdoor area & parking. 14/10 would recommend to a friend. read more

I just moved in and I love this place! Steve M., the assistant property manager, handled everything for me, and carefully guided me through the entire application and move-in process. He is a total gem! Give that guy a raise! My giant studio now looks like Architectural Digest (see attached photos) and I can't wait to put some patio furniture outside on my new private deck. I love having an indoor underground parking garage, with full elevator access, so I don't have to go to the car wash very often, and the laundry room (where there is never a wait) is right around the corner. I enjoy walking to all my favorite nearby restaurants and shops on Fourth Street, like the State Room, and the Rafael Theater is only a block away. This is truly the best location ever! I guess there's a good reason why this property is chosen as one of the top 1% of apartment communities in the nation for customer service. They've thought of everything! I have not lived in the apartments but took care of someone who passed away while still maintaining an apartment there. The management was nothing short of wonderful during the process of moving her possessions out, so wonderful that I looked into getting an apartment there for my own mother when she needed to move but ended up going a different direction because of her care needs. I do not anticipate ever needing to move from my home, but if I did, and was looking for an apartment, I would absolutely look here first. Not only is the management staff very professional, but they actually care about the people for whom they are providing a home. I just wish there were more teams like this in all the businesses with whom I have to interact. Cudos to you all for doing such a lovely job. read more

This is the worst possible management you can find. Pretty certain they remove bad reviews and add their friends' comments. Although, it's hard to imagine Jimi has any friends or is capable of maintaining any relationships of any kind. Why Jimi and Trini have client facing role is beyond me--try being lumberjacks or something better suited to your neanderthal level of communication. Please hire new people, perhaps a woman on your team (if you can handle that?) and your ratings will rise, client satisfaction with skyrocket, get rid of these two, keep Roger though. I will echo a previous comment about no communication ever. Painting in the hall: the contractors will just knock and ask you to open your door for half a day. Changing the hallway carpet? Same deal, like your doorway is blocked for hours and they didn't give you a heads up? In a time when everyone is working from home, really?? Take one class one management Jimi if you're literate enough for that. Why haven't you taken a hint on what professionalism means in these many years of a career? For example, when Xfinity had work to do, they left notes on our door warning us in advance of disruptions and noise and offering alternatives too. That's what management and professionalism means when your job is client management. The gym is rachet, again as mentioned by another comment. Of course it's in the basement. Because these two twats needs offices the size of what should be gym with actual day light. Don't be fooled by this comment though, you will never find them in their offices. Basically the lobby has been designed in such a way that you never have to enter. "use the servant door to enter and basement gym to exercise, cause you're the ones who collectively pay all the bills around here," and that makes sense Cushman-Wakefield, well done! The apartment units are nice and spacious and clean considering what is out there to pick from around here. But these twits who think they have the power to decide who lives here based on lying about pricing, holding back apartments based on your timing, are what bring the rating back to a zero. I needed to live here for another few months but they violated their own lease agreement by quoting rent increased more than 10% in addition to lying about options at end of term. That is illegal. Also, the apartment had a bug problem when I got in probably because it has been empty due to their exorbitant pricing. They barely deal with the issue blaming me when I had flown in just that day? And when I leave they automatically charge a carpet cleaning fee from my deposit $150. What a joke. Wishing you the worst karma for using your power to bring inconvenience to what I see, is mostly people of color. There are some options in San Rafael close to the SMART train and the express bus to SF and the bridge. Take those. Look for those. Anything over this ridiculous management that will make you move out immediately. EDIT: I want to add that your electric and water usage will also be completely bogus. I was away for 2 months out of the time I lived there. And the wonderful "metered usage" is more like divide everyones usage including, what others confirm includes the manager's Tesla. Yeah, you have to pay for that. The bill will remain the same even if you didn't actually use your apartment. EDIT: Forgot, one more thing, they don't follow their own lease renewal protocol. There are tabs on their website for this information which is to make sure you have everything you need to decide on how to proceed. Did they fill it out? You bet not. Did they send a letter with official options 60 days in advance, heck even 30 days, as CW does in other buildings? You bet not. Laziness is the ethos of this management team, just shut up and pay your bills and don't ask anything of management. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to Jimi & the maintenance / groundskeeping crew for quickly resolving any of the rare situations that have come up while living here. They always go above & beyond to really make you feel cared for & at home in this community. Jimi is gregarious & earnest & shows great dedication, empathy, expedience, and knowledge with whatever the residents may bring to his plate that is of concern. He manages to perform amazing feats of juggling keeping both the demands of the residents & the complex gears of the apartment operations finely tuned all while projecting a very caring, jovial, & thoughtful nature. As for the grounds they are extremely well maintained. The inner courtyard feels like a separate world to the busy goings of San Rafael. The courtyard is usually quiet & cozy enough to sit in & read by the fire pit accompanied by the white noise of the fountain. There is also a community BBQ grill in the courtyard that many people make use of for events or just a nice grilled home cooked meal. There is also easy access to an underground car garage via 2 elevators or stairwells; of which also conveniently lead to some of the restaurants right outside of the complex via indoor walkway. But, wait! That's not all! There is also an exercise room that is well equipped with multiple machines to tackle your workout needs that is extremely underused. Oh, also if you need farm fresh greens, kettle corn, & music! Look no further than right outside your front door on Thursdays! Farmers markets are held & can assist you with all those needs. Into indie movies? Walk about 2 blocks on 4th street to The Rafael movie theater & indulge to your hearts content! You're basically in the heart of San Rafael here & within walking distance to a lot of newly opening & already well established pubs & restaurants! The bus & train are also a convenient hop skip & jump away to whisk you away towards adventure! So what are you waiting for? Check out the Rafael Town Center & find a place to call home like I have. read more

There are so many reasons to be living here that to list them all, my keyboard would wear out! Start from the top: The manager Jimmy has been on board for 10 years and is the most honest and affable admin person I've ever dealt with in all my years of condominium, high rise, home and apartment living. The available apartments are a bit smaller than I'd like because I have so much furniture, but the plethora of amenities and perks here cancels out the extra four or five feet possibly lost. Also, most renters will find the space to be more than sufficient for their everyday needs and comforts! (The often-used phrase "location, location, location" immediately comes to mind with the Town Center: Banks, restaurants, walkability, stores, etc etc.) I can't recommend Rafael Town Center high enough. This would probably be the nest you'll want to stay in for the rest of your life - Check it out! read more

We moved from Atlanta and lived at San Rafael Town Center for five years and loved every minute of it. The staff, we really cannot say enough good things. Their consistent professionalism and thoughtful consideration for all of our needs made us really feel at home. Property Manager, Jimi always supported us and made sure we had everything we needed. Steve was always nice and made us feel comfortable using the grill and clubhouse, and even helped us when we were locked out because we misplaced our keys. Roger took care of all our maintenance needs and promptly responded when any problems came up. We loved our two bedroom, two bath apartment with a view overlooking the courtyard. The layout was spacious and functional and came with brand new appliances and carpet. The amenities were wonderful! We had fully equipped gym with free weights, ellipticals, treadmills, medicine balls, TRX bands, and even two Peloton bikes. The courtyard near the clubhouse had a fantastic grill for us to use any time we wanted. We even used the office area for meetings and even to close on our new condo. Oh and the location is awesome! We could walk to the post office, coffee shops, restaurants, and local bars when they were open before COVID. And all grocery stores were super close...from Trader Joe's, to Safeway, and even Whole Foods We are sad to leave, as we loved every moment living there and made so many good memories. We will miss you all, we will be back to visit when were in the neighborhood! read more

I lived in/at the Town Center for over 5 years, recently relocating for work reasons. If you like restaurants and being able to walk to "city life", the location cannot be beat. The units are clean, modern, quiet, and reasonably priced. The staff is *very* responsive and *very* accommodating and I'd not have left if it wasn't necessitated by a change in my work location. I don't recommend things often, but I'd give my recommendation for the Town Center to anyone who asked. read more

Here's what I've got: I lived at the SR town center for a little over 5 years. I'm 65 and have been a renter most of that time. Due to life circumstances I had to move out or I would still be calling Apartment 320 home. Town Center gives the absolute Best Customer Service you'll get from anywhere else. If I needed a repair I never had to wait more than 24 hours and it was done. After I was recovering from a surgery someone was calling to check on me and asking if I needed anything. Everyone that works there is polite, friendly and professional. If you're considering this as your next home, I can only say...go for it! If you do, you'll get to meet Jimi. This is 100% the best place I've ever lived. The staff is wonderful. Jimi is a fantastic Property Manager and Roger is an extremely responsive and helpful Maintenance Manager. I've had nothing but good experiences with the entire staff and that says a lot. I also love the amenities. The gym is my favorite. Great equipment including Peloton bikes and a TRX station. Plus only a few residents use it so it feels like a private gym. I love the grill, fire pit, and spacious courtyard too - great for ppl working from home. Literally in the center of downtown, you have access to at least one of every type of restaurant you could want, breweries, and Marin's best bar - California Gold. Plus, in the summer, there's a farmer's market legitimately out your front door. I couldn't ask for anything more. I highly recommend Rafael Town Center. read more

I really enjoyed my time at Rafael Town Center. To be honest, as a guy in his mid/late 20s San Rafael was not really my ideal place to live (no nightlife, etc.) but I really have to commend the staff at Rafael Town Center for making my experience here amazing. Specifically the property manager Jimi Yost and the maintenance guy Roger. Of the few maintenance issues I had throughout my time here they both addressed them immediately, and all occasions were after hours on a weekend. They were extremely responsive and considerate of my experience as a resident. If you are moving to San Rafael and looking for an apartment, you would be hard pressed to find a more welcoming community. Thanks again Jimi/Roger! read more

An honest review from a current tennnent: - No communication about anything. Ever. I found out they were painting the walls when I came home to find my door mat thrown aside and covered in paint. - There is one car charging station on the first level. Where residents can't park. It's in a handicap spot and the manager uses it for his personal vehicle. I have to park in a paid public lot across the street to charge my car. -Laundry rooms reek of mildew. Payment system for machines is outdated. - They have never cleaned the windows in six years. I would have a view of Mt Tam, but the windows are filthy. - Hallway carpets are filthy and they stopped vacuuming them -the entry way/mailbox area is filthy. There's been a sticky substance on the ground that hasn't been cleaned in months. -last month the entryway smelled of a dead animal for a few weeks - Carpet in elevator is filthy and smells of urine - Manager (Trinny) never responds to emails - No air conditioning - Gym is dirty and outdated. Exercise machines are never cleaned and have DNA all over (sweat, hairs) Yeah it's centrally located but has a lot of issues. read more

I understand this holiday might not be our favorite as COVID creates such difficulties for all of us and not easy to find happiness but I just want you to know that you are in our hearts and mind with all the kindness you spread through your community for many years. I am sure your family and kids are so proud of you as we all are in your community. I would like to formally and sincerely express my gratitude for the amazing work you accomplished and the support you provide for your community and more specifically your support for my disabled parents. During my Pharmacy school in Arizona, I have had neither support nor connection in San Rafael to protect my parents, but I pray to God for help. If you do not recognize, you are one of the angels that my loving God trust and sent on my way. Your supports and actions in the San Rafael Town Center community impacted many lives for good, allowing them to call that place home during pandemics. My husband and I have lived in our apartment here at Rafael Town Center for two years now. We have nothing but great things to say about the apartment community and the on-site management team. Our fellow residents are conscientious, respectful and polite. We've never had to worry about noise or any kind of unpleasantness. Our packages/deliveries are always were they are delivered, and management has someone vacuum all the common areas weekly. Parking is at the basements and there are elevators conveniently stationed so that regardless of where you've parked, it's never a too far walk to an elevator. Jimi is an awesome landlord, he is always quick to get a hold of and responds quickly to any questions or concerns we may have. And Roger, who is in charge of maintenance, is extremely efficient and skilled with anything that needs fixing. We can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else. Thank you, Jimi and Roger! My husband and I love living here! We recently moved from the East Bay and our experience inquiring, applying and moving in was outstanding. Steve (the Assistant Manager) went completely above and beyond, to the point where we were in communication with him around the clock. He was responding back and forth to our emails even past 10 at night! While my husband and I were going back and forth to make a move to Rafael Town Center, Steve's hospitality and attentiveness really made us feel like we were making the right decision. We have been in our apartment almost a month and are loving it. It is really nice that the complex is walkable to restaurants, transit and Safeway - similar to where we were in the East Bay. I also like how convenient it is to get on 101. Would recommend to anyone! read more
