The receptionists are also really nice, and are usually able to answer my queries over the phone. This medical center is only around 10-15 years old, and feels very modern and hygienic. The waiting area is big and comfortable, with many magazines on offer, and plenty of toys to occupy children. The only thing that annoys me about this place is that you usually have to wait at least a week for a non emergency appointment (a nasty cough can often disappear in this time), however I believe this to be a universal problem rather than solely the fault of the Llandaff North medical centre.

The surgery is situated at the top end of Wedal Road near the junction with Allensbank Road and has ample, dedicated patient parking. Making your life even easier, there is also a Pearn's Pharmacy incorporated into the building. Dr. Davies - (Male) Dr. Johnson - (Female) Dr. Everest - (Male) Dr. Quarry - (Male) Prior to September 2005, the Crwys Medical Practice had been established since the turn of the last century at 151 Crwys Road but you'll be over the moon to hear that the stain glass window panel that was in the front bay of the old building has now been installed in the waiting area of the new practice. It is all in the detail, you see. For this alone, they get an extra star.

It's rather a pleasant place, that feels almost like a private surgery. There's plenty of parking, a bus stop down the road and the pharmacy is in the same building which is extremely convenient. There are surprisingly few doctors considering the size of the place, but my friend never had to wait too long for an appointment. There are a few clinics, including an asthma clinic and diabetes clinic that not every doctors surgery has. As the medical centre is quite close to the Heath University Hospital, there are occasionally medical students sitting in, although you will be informed beforehand and given the option of requesting to see the doctor alone if you'd rather. This is a lovely surgery, and one of the most convenient being completely accessible for disabled patients, having great parking facilities and its own pharmacy. One of the best in the area.

This means that if you find a doctor you are comfortable with and open up honesty to, chances are that you will not see them for awhile. You have too explain everything again to a different doctor, even if you are not comfortable with that. Trying to get an appointment is awful, if you do mange to get an appointment chances are that the doctor has not shown up on time. Reorder of medication usually takes 48 hours unless they send the prescription for a signature to a doctor that is on holiday (this actually happened to me). In closing totally unorganised, unprofessional and completely bizarre. 2 stars as I am feeling generous.

My first one was booked two days in advance and it was fine. The next time I needed one I was told I needed to book a week in advance or a day - the option of two days had vanished in the space of a week. So I tried again today to get one a day in advance -only to be told to phone back tomorrow when presumably all the appointments will be taken. Do not bother with this terribly shambolic excuse for a doctors surgery. Nobody actually knows what the agreed booking timescale is.

Set in sprawling green surroundings, this is a beautiful place. More like a hotel than anything else. The patients' rooms are large and well-decorated. The most memorable thing about this hospice is the games room. Here they have lights and music to keep a person occupied, and everything is very well planned, thought through and executed. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Well done Ty Hafan, please keep up the good work.

Ty Hafan is a small shop that quite often get overcrowded. But then that's a opportunity to socialise which customers are more than willing to do, its a part of our culture after all ! The great joy in charity shops, and Ty Hafan is no exception, is to find a rare bargain ,something unusual. Shopping there the other day I found the complete series Of 'Faulty towers', a 'sit com' that is one of my favourites For 40 pence . Ok, so it was on video tape that is rapidly becoming obsolete but many people have the facility to transfer tape to disc easily. If you have this facility then there is a large selection of interesting video tapes at only 10p each. If you think this is too cheap than the ladies will willing accept a donation for a very good cause. There is also a good selection of Christmas cards at very economical prices. The men's clothing is all in very good condition and some of it is obviously new from well known shops on the high street. (I had better not give names) Perhaps a few additional words about the charity are called for Ty Hafan (Welsh for 'Haven house') is a home offering specialist care for children suffering from life -limiting conditions and also giving the whole family a source of strength and support in their tragic circumstances. The home is not a part of the NHS so receives no guaranteed funding. So Ty Hafan is well deserving of your support and custom.
