Howdy! The hotel is in a perfect spot. Close to the Oslo central station and the neighborhood is great to walk in and there are great foodie drinkie options too. Really enjoyed my time here and the brekkie as well as the food at the Top was fabulous. This is a perfect hotel and the staff was just great at every turn! Thanks for a great stay. I wanted to say thank the team for a wonderful welcome and to also shout out a couple of team members for really taking care of my colleagues and I on our arrival. We came in without our luggage bags it was delayed arriving. Even tho it was early in the day, Natasa took our names and offers to get us rooms just as fast as possible. We went upstairs for brekkie and while we were up there she came up to let my colleagues know she had a room ready for them! When they mentioned I was waiting too, she invited us to the desk and she and her teammate, Thea, worked to get us all settled quite nicely and early too! Such fabulous customer service and attention! I think this is remarkable customer attention, especially these days when it is so hard to find. First of all, this is a very new and extremely well designed five-star hotel. Everything about this hotel screams elegance and greatness. If there are any flaws in that designation they mostly come from their staff. I will get to that in a moment. The rooms here are very nice. Not super spacious, but very well designed and functional. The bathrooms are probably the high-point of each of these rooms. They are very nicely designed and offer a deep bathtub, a great shower, and a very nice sink and towel hanging set up. My personal recommendation for staying at this hotel is to stay on one of the higher floors, with a very nice view of the sea off in the distance. This just gives you an overall great feeling when looking outside and a deeper understanding about the landscape of Oslo. In terms of location, this hotel is located central to the inner city. From this, not only do you have easy access to trains and other forms of mass transit, but walking from place to place is also very easy, which is the way I prefer to transverse the city. Meaning, you can easily walk to most of the main attractions with little effort. Those are the pros, here are the cons. Whomever designed the bathtub/shower faucet system was obviously going for some high-tech apparatus. The problem is, it is one of those things that looks very visually appealing but in terms of functionality, it becomes very-very complicated. Normally, you would just turn the hot water or the cold water on and you'd be all set. In the situation, however, it's really a mess. You really have to figure it out. Something so simple, becomes so complicated. So much so, that at one point, apparently one of the housekeeping staff turned my cold water so far off that it had to be turned twenty times just to be able to bring down the hot water to an acceptable level. So, do I love high-tech design? Sure. But, in terms of functionalit, it just really doesn't work. The other problem I have, and this is one of my big pet-peeves whenever I stay at five-star establishments. This pet-peeve involves the time they get a guest's room cleaned. For example, on one of the days I stayed here I came back to the hotel from a long outing and my room was still not cleaned by 4:00 PM. I left the hotel at 8:00 AM. Meaning, they had a lot of time to do the room, but I came back, and as it was not done, I had to go back out for a time after calling the desk and reporting the situation. As we all understand, when you're traveling you like to come back to your room and relax in the afternoon before your evening outings. But, I was not allowed to do this. I really think they need to take a look at their housekeeping staff, the way they function, and the way they organize the room cleaning schedule, because this is just not an ideal way to treat their guests. Especially, when you're a Radisson Premier Member like myself. The other problem I had with this hotel is that I always plan for a car to take me to the airport the day before I am to fly away. I went to the front desk and spoke to one of their people and she told me there was absolutely no reason to plan for a car as there's always taxis out in front. Okay, I believed her. The next morning I go down to check out and the very nice receptionist, named Kimberly, clearly explained to me that it would cost us three times the amount of money to just grab a taxi out in front as opposed to having booked a car. I told her I tried to do just that and one of her associates told me there was no need. She just shook her head. Thankfully, she was very kind and called us a taxi from the car service, which arrived in about five minutes. So, we got the establish price to take us to the airport. Overall, I don't believe there's a better hotel to stay out in Oslo. You just have to be prepared for some of the the less than ideal situations presented at this hotel, which I've explained. My wife, daughter and I spent a cold December weekend in Oslo staying at the warm and welcoming Radisson Blu Plaza as our base. Conveniently located adjacent to the central train station, it was a snap to catch public transportation to anywhere we wanted to go. We enjoyed their large breakfast spread in the mornings and our room was quite comfortable. The 34 story all glass hotel is a pedestrian walkway bridge away from the Oslo S central train station. It was tricky to find when we disembarked from the Flytoget airport train but the trick is to follow signs for the bus terminal and Oslo Spektrum. Once out the door, you will see the hotel and the bridge to walk there. Checkin was easy and since we opted for their noon check in add on to our reservation, we were in our room at 11am. Dropping off our bags, we were back out in the cold ready to start seeing the sights. Buses, trams and subway trains are all right there so take your pick. We were really surprised by the included breakfast with our room. It was huge with lots of choices. There was even a Bloody Mary bar if so inclined. Located on the entire second floor, breakfast was available in three different large dining rooms. My favorites were the little sausages, Jarlsburg cheese slices and the fresh pineapple. Our room on the 15th floor was quite comfortable and came with a heated bathroom floor. Our feet loved that after a long day of walking on the frozen concrete of Oslo. The shower had lots of hot water and the heated towel rack was also nice. We enjoyed our stay here and will come back again perhaps during a warmer time of the year. read more

The hotel is walking distance from the train station which was nice, the staff were very friendly, especially the front desk and baggage handling. Our room was nice, large enough for a couple night stay. We were on the 13th floor, so we had a nice view of the harbor. There are lots of restaurants and pubs around the hotel, so that was a plus. We ate at the micropub adjacent to the hotel and found the food and drinks very good. We also ate the breakfast buffet, which as European buffets go, it was very good, especially the egg station which served made to order eggs and omelets. All in all, nice hotel, only down side is they don't have air conditioning, which we found most in Norway don't and as luck would have it, the days we stayed were some of the hottest on record, so it was a bit humid and stuffy, they have thermostats in the rooms, but I'm assuming it's for "heat" in the winter. Note, they did provide a small fan upon request, which truly was not a lot of relief, but can't really hold the hotel responsible for that. read more

We stayed here just two nights on a weekend trip, but we absolutely loved it! You can get to the property right from the airport, via the airport link route to the Sentrum train station which connects right to the hotel via a walkway from the train station to the property. It is right in the center of a bustling area of town, and there was even a fun little fair going on right outside when we stayed. The staff was very nice and answered several of our questions, including restaurant recommendations, assistance with baggage, and directions we needed to a movie theater. The bar/restaurant in the lobby downstairs was wonderful, too. We arrived later in the evening and hadn't grabbed dinner yet, so we needed a bite to eat. We had the fish and chips, which were tasty, and it was pretty inexpensive compared to how spendy Oslo can be! The property itself is very well appointed and clean with modern sleek hallways and some very high views if you go to the lounge at the top. The room we stayed in was very comfortable with a large bed, small seating area by the window with a comfy sitting chair, and also a small table with a bench seating area. All things considered, I'd definitely recommend this hotel as a property that's a moderately priced accommodation in Oslo, with a high-end feel! read more

Huge hotel right off the train station and easy to find because of its height. Breakfast buffet was big and varied. Avoid the neighborhood to the rear of the hotel plaza; Oslo's seedier side. Rooms were decent size but be careful of the step up into the bathroom AND the big step into the tub/shower. And BEWARE re the mini bar- this hotel has those product sensors. If you lift the item from the mini bar, you own it. Whether you consume it or not. And there's NO notice of this. Mildew on the shower walls and a loose toilet seat. Also, this hotel is key card krazy. Beware when leaving your room that there is a one minute delay before the door auto locks. Yes you read that right! (You can tap your card to lock it). Staff says it delays in case you step into the hall and there is a fire. You can go right back into your room. Stupid. I'll just use my card again or, better yet, EXIT THE BUILDING! read more

Where to even start... Quick context: I went on a huge family trip with several international siblings/parents/grandparents visiting my husband and I Norway for the first time. 1) No working Air Conditioning despite each room "having AC." While it was abnormally hot for this time of year, the rooms were unbearably hot and uncomfortable for my family. The front desk said they'd bring us fans, forgot for multiple hours, then when we called to remind them, they said they didn't have any! 2) There were multiple employees that were exceptionally rude - just absolutely mean and unprofessional. Especially the hostess and bartender (man) at the restaurant on the top floor and the baggage check lady in the lobby. From several rude comments, piss poor attitudes when asking for help, and dirty stares, my family said they never want to come back. 3) Wifi did not work at all. Our international cellular data would take minutes to load one post, but this was still faster than whatever excuse for wifi Radison has. 4) Breakfast was crowded and tasted terrible. We kept telling my family how amazing a European breakfast buffet is. Everyone said they hated it. Bland/no seasoning. Very watery eggs. Overcrowded. A bad time. I rarely ever leave reviews, especially not ones this long and critical, but staying at the Radisson Blu, a place my husband and I both swore was worth the money, quite frankly ruined our family trip. If I could leave negative stars, I would. It sucks, because I doubt my family will ever want to visit us here again. read more

'Ello chaps! Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel is a 30+ story hotel in the heart of downtown Oslo, just steps from the front door of the Central Oslo Train Station. The hotel is just a short walk to the Oslo Opera House, the famed Karl Johans Gate boulevard (lots of shops, restaurants), there's a mall across the street and many bus and rail stops near by. The hotel does offer a large breakfast buffet for an added fee, and it is well worth it. The diverse food offerings remain the same day to day --- eggs, sausage, vegtables, cheeses, meats and fish, waffles etc. A good variety for anyone. The breakfast options saves you a lot of time, money, and stress from not having to worry daily what to eat to get your day started. TIP: For the love of future American visitors, PLEASE get SYRUP for the waffles. All the hotel offered was honey. The rooms are clean, modern, comfortable and give splendid views. Clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel is located right near Oslo Station, making it very easy to get to. There is always a steady stream of taxis outside, but given its central location you'll be able to explore Oslo on foot from the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. The lobby is nice and spacious and there's plenty of quiet seating space to the side. The breakfast service finishes a bit early as they tend to in most hotels, but the spread is quite fantastic. Even including a special corner for people with special dietary needs. The customer service here is wonderful and the location is perfect!!! Right next door to Central Station and the trams and buses. We took the Flytoget train from the airport to central station and when we emerged from the station the Radisson Blu was right there! Rooms were clean and ample in size as compared with other European places I've stayed at. The concierge, Hilje Stormo, is the best I've encountered in all my travels. From the first question we asked ( Map directions) until our departure he was super friendly and helpful. I believe he was the highlight of our 3 night stay. He truly saved us hours of heartache. Thank you Hilje!!!!! The breakfast buffet is a great deal and worth the extra money as everything in Oslo is very expensive. You can also order "off" the buffet line and get French toast, made to order eggs, etc... There is a bar on the 34th floor where you can get great views of Oslo but there really isn't that much seating up there. And remember you are in Oslo. DRINKS ARE EXPENSIVE !!! Located conveniently next to the main train station this is a good hotel option for Oslo that is reasonably priced. Right behind the hotel is the area called Grønland which is an ethnic neighbourhood with lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Indian, Middle Easter, Turkish and other such cuisines are on offer and probably the cheapest meal you will get in Oslo. The rooms are good and relatively clean and functional. Breakfast is also quite ok and was included with my room. Staff are friendly and there is plenty of taxis right outside the door if you want to use them. All in all a good experience for four nights and I would happily come here again. read more

Very convenient to Oslo Central Station and several great restaurants / bars, and the front desk / concierge staff are friendly, but unfortunately the advantages pretty much end there. Air conditioning is non-existent (and Norway is warmer these days). No bathrobes. Bathtub + shower has the style normally seen in France where a moveable glass panel covers half of the bathtub but doesn't prevent water from getting everywhere. Getting in and out of said tub feels dangerous given the height of the bathtub rim and general watery condition. Elevators seem to have recently been upgraded to a system where you put in your room at a panel and then are assigned an elevator, but it doesn't prevent uncomfortable and frustrating guest scrums in the narrow elevator lobby at peak times. Lobby bar staff ignores you until you physically go up to the bar to order. The gym is hard to find: go up to floor 34, then go through four different doors, climb four floors using multiple stairs (one of which is a spiral which seems dangerous, especially on the way down after a hard workout). read more

This is a fantastic hotel with a fantastic location. The sky bar has great drinks and beautiful views. Their restaurant served fantastic food alongside fantastic service. The concierge was also exceptional. He gave my husband practical advice about walking to a business meeting and he gave me great help when I needed to visit the emergency room. The views are amazing!!!' It's just seps from the train station. Also, this has not a "good" breakfast. It has an amazing breakfast! I feel like they need to improve their cleanliness. The floors on the 29th floor were never vacuumed and it shows. Our room too was never vacuumed. The headboard has unknown body oils or ? on it. Our room caddy for coffee was not restocked. Friday through when we left. The first part Of the week it was. The mini bar was never restocked. The windows all need an outside the building cleaning. They had difficulty with cooling rooms. It was hot. They did offer a fan. The elevator doors were filthy on the insides. They stayed that way through the weekend. I don't know if they cleaned it up for business travelers, but on Monday when we left they were finally clean. I hate being in unclean places. read more

My family and I stayed here for 6 days during my mid-tour military leave and I'm glad we did! This hotel except for a few things is top notch. Customer service from the front desk to concierge to room service was great. The rooms are newly renovated and we love the design, however having at least one drawer to store clothes would have been nice. Each morning until 1030 we looked forward to the breakfast buffet which has more items then most hotels I've stayed in. Fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, and even a gluten free area made this a real treat! Their gym set-up, although the walk getting there is also a workout, is pretty nice with a grand view of the Oslo harbor. A good selection of machines fills the room. Some slight detractors were the location and noise levels mainly to the north side. Sirens, yelling, horns we're all easily heard even at the 15th. The centralized location is really nice but comes at a cost. read more

Wifi is slow and intermittent, the main bar is closed in summer (!) Althing the hotel guide says its open until 1am. The lobby bar doesn't serve snacks after 8pm, the restaurant is closed at 10:30. There's no room service at this time. The TV has poor reception and the picture is pixelated. The door to the next room was open and it took an hour to get someone to lock it. An extra pillow was requested but did not arrive. Rotting strawberries found in the minibar. This looks like an international hotel but feels like Fawlty Towers. read more

We stayed at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. I was very pleased with the hotel room and hotel overall as well as the location. It was steps away from the Central station in Oslo, making it very easy to get around the city and elsewhere. The room was very clean, had modern touches, and nice amenities (nespresso machine, mini bar, sitting area). The view was also nice. We sadly didn't get to see the rooftop bar, but we did check out the gym. This was the only thing that didn't impress me. The machines were outdated, and it felt a bit cramped. Breakfast at this hotel was phenomenal. They had a huge selection of cheeses, breads, pastries, fruit, fresh smoothies, and everything. They even had an "organic" corner, as well as a area for people with special diets (Gluten/celiac). I was very impressed! Concierge and hotel staff were very courteous. They were able to provide lots of information to us. What was really nice though was that they sent up a plate of sweet treats and desserts for us to indulge on with a thoughtful card congratulating us on our marriage. I would recommend this hotel if you want a nice stay that is walking distance to all the attractions in the city as well as the central station. read more

I stayed several nights here on a recent week business trip to Norway. This is the biggest hotel in Northern Europe and the tallest building in the region. It almost felt like a Vegas hotel for this reason, which comes with its pros and cons. The location is second to none - a five minute walk from the train station, includes the high speed train to the airport 'Flytoget', and right by the subway station and bus stations also. The room was reasonable, I was on the 23rd floor with a great view of the Oslo fjord and Opera House. One big plus for me was, although the air con system wasn't very good, the bedroom window opened so you can have fresh air -- quite a luxury in a business hotel. Interesting layout of the room, desk was good to work at and the free wifi had no problems. The bath was enormous! There are several restaurants and bars across the building. I ate at both the lobby bar, which was very pleasant, and the Irish pub bar, which really wasn't. The top floor bar/restaurant is great for a meeting or date, not so much for solo travel! I think this is arguably both the best, and the busiest, buffet breakfast I've experienced in the Radisson Blu group. Really excellent coffee and tea selections, pastries and breads, cereals and fruits. The only negative was that in the hot breakfast there was no bacon and the sausages were very thin red coloured kinds that I didn't like. This is probably a Norwegian thing! They do offer a gym and pool on the top floors of the building, but you have to work out to get there - up several spiral and fire exit staircases, it feels a little weird but keep going it is the right way! The gym however cannot be used on a sunny day as the big windows creates a greenhouse effect where it is too hot to work out in. read more

Extensive and delicious! - Helpful staff Cons: - Elevators are TINY (carrying 6-7 max comfortably) and just not well-suited for a hotel of this size. There are only 2(?) express elevators going to the higher floors (16+). During peak hours (breakfast/checkout), the elevators were so full that we had to wait 5+ minutes until one (with enough space for 2 additional people) arrived. Overall, not for the claustrophobic. And be prepared for a wait. - Wi-fi was unreliable (frequent connection problems). - Would have appreciated more restaurant options -- aside from 1 fine dining restaurant and 1 Irish pub. That, or extended food service hours at the lobby bar. read more

I had a 1 night reservation there and I was not able to make it because I was flying WOW airlines and they cancelled all flights. Although it was all over the news about WOW flights being cancelled the hotels didn't let me cancel or change the reservation. It was not my fault that I couldn't make it there. They could at least try to work with the customer specially with the circumstances of being stranded in a different continent. I had to book a room in Oslo the following night but At a different hotel. I was not going to stay here after they refused a refund or change of date in my reservation. read more

We chose this hotel for 2 nights as it was close to central station and in the city center. I'm happy with my choice, but there were a few ups and downs! First of all, this is a great location. When you exit central station at the 'Spektrum' exit, you will see this hotel in front of you, it's only about a 2 minute walk. Ideal for exploring the city and getting to and from the airport with the express train (20 mins). After checking in, we went to our room but were a little disappointed: this room looked nothing like the pictures (which were quite stylish, with darker colors). Also there were two separate twin beds with blue/green colors in the room. This might be nice for children or two friends visiting Oslo, but not for a couple celebrating their anniversary. We went back downstairs and luckily received an upgrade to a better room with a queen bed. This room was much nicer (one of the executive rooms on the 27th floor), however it was placed next to the elevator and service rooms which meant all day long, starting in the morning, we'd hear doors being slammed and employees talking and, quite often, yelling at each other. After walking in the city for many hours in the sun, in the late afternoon I just wanted to take a quick nap in my room but unfortunately wasn't able to, as all I heard was Norwegian hotel staff yelling in the hallway in front of our door. Even when we put the 'do not disturb' sign on our door, they continued. That said, the second room we got was nice, executive rooms come with free movies, free breakfast and free internet (although the latter two I believe are free for everyone). The location is great and if you're on the higher floors you get an amazing view of Oslo. Might consider going back, but will ask for a nicer room to begin with. read more

The first cut of this review after Day 1 was a 5 star; however on Day 2 & 3 when we went down for breakfast, it dropped considerably. It is the attention to detail that makes the difference for a higher end hotel, and that was certainly lacking at the breakfast buffet. Once you are seated trying to get coffee is not easy let alone a top up. The real disappointment was the food. Both of the last days, the food in the chaffing dishes was between cool and cold. Wow. I wouldn't have expected that. Eggs were cold, sausages were cold, beans were cold, soft boiled eggs were bordering on being under-cooked, and yes you guessed it, cold. After two days though of fending for ourselves for coffee, the last day was excellent as our server provided ideal support. Nice to see. The other little issue that was less than ideal was the room clean-up. After day 1 we used all the container of shower gel and shampoo. On day 2 we had lots of shampoo but no shower gel and the in-room coffee supplies were not replenished. As I said, it's the little things and these all certainly added up to lower our impression to 3 stars. Here is my impression after Day 1. You've read what I thought about the second two days. I guess "here is what could have been" The old saying, you get what you pay for, is certainly true about the Radisson Blu. Excellent location mere minutes from the Central Train Station and then downtown. The customer service is fabulous. They are so focused on making your issues 'theirs', that it brings a sense of comfort and truly enhances once experience. The rooms are well appointed. Bonus you can open a window and actually get fresh air; however the room can get a little warm. The breakfast buffet has a great selection and the food is fresh and well prepared. (Note, what a difference a day can make!) The Concierge was a wonderful resource in helping and guiding us on our adventures. Exercise room has a fantastic view but the equipment is so-so. My husband, Brian, and I stayed here for one night (9/1/14), before leaving on a cruise. The gentleman who checked us in was wonderful and put us in a room on the 32nd floor when he found out it was our first time in Oslo, unfortunately I didn't get his name. We decided to go to the Irish pub attached to the hotel for some drinks and we're so glad we did! Runar, the bartender, and Ove, who it turns out works at the hotel but was having a few drinks on his day off, were absolutely wonderful! They provided great tips on the towns in Norway we were going to be visiting and my husband really enjoyed talking about fishing with Ove. It was a great first experience in Norway making us feel very welcome! With this experience we would not only highly recommend staying at this hotel but it makes me think positively of the Radisson brand as a whole. OK....not 5 stars because that is the best....But we were fortunate and got the remodeled rooms....small but lovely and modern and clean and comfortable...great view from 24th floor with windows that open and a deep fabulous bathtub...heated tile floor in the bathroom along with heated towel racks...great location....free internet...As far as I'm concerned this is the place to go in Oslo....I could stay here for a while...I haven't been to the pool yet or the gym but will go tomorrow read more

This is an expensive hotel; therefore, I set higher standards. The room smelled musty. The curtains let in too much light; they were not installed properly, so the light came in from either end. The hotel offered "free movies" for business travelers, but showed the same two movies every night. The iron did not work, but was replaced quickly after a call to the desk. The safe did not work, but was also repaired quickly after a call to the desk. The room was very clean, and had an outstanding view of the city. The restaurant had an excellent buffet breakfast. I had a room near the elevator, and I could hear it running the entire night. The people working there are outstanding - friendly and helpful. The location is fabulous. read more
