I didn't have a lot of eggs, so I had to undergo several retrievals. As I got older, the quality of my eggs also declined. At my last retrieval, when I was 40, Dr. Aimee recommended trying PRP. She was very honest with me that it was a newer procedure, but that the results were promising. I ended up retrieving just two eggs. We created embryos, and incredibly, we ended up with one healthy baby boy and one healthy baby girl. Our son--the little boy my husband had always hoped for--came from one of those eggs I retrieved at age 40. With Dr. Aimee's help, I became pregnant through IVF, and we welcomed our beautiful son, who is now 2 1/2 years old. When we decided we wanted a second child, my previous delivery had been difficult, so we made the decision to use a surrogate. Once again, Dr. Aimee was there for us every step of the way. She connected me with multiple agencies, and I didn't have to wait long before finding an amazing surrogate who had been screened by Dr. Aimee. She was local, which meant I was able to be part of the pregnancy and birth journey in a way that was incredibly special to me. I also had a difficult time finding an in-network doctor we felt comfortable with, and Dr. Aimee personally recommended someone and helped make the connection. She went above and beyond--not just as our fertility doctor, but as someone who genuinely cared about helping us complete our family. Our healthy baby girl was just born, and she is absolutely perfect. I am so incredibly grateful to Dr. Aimee and her amazing team for everything they have done for our family over the past 10 years. They have been there for us through every stage of this journey, and I truly don't know what our family would look like without them. My husband jokes that if Dr. Aimee told me to jump off a bridge, I probably would. And honestly, he's right. That's how much I trust her. She is kind, compassionate, brilliant, honest, and direct. She always has her patients' best interests at heart and works tirelessly to help them achieve their dreams of building a family. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Aimee for helping us bring our two beautiful children into the world. She didn't just help us have babies--she helped us complete our family. I cannot recommend her and her team highly enough.

After many years, my husband and I decided to try again. This time, we went through his insurance. We had such a horrible experience with the other clinic, we moved our leftover embryos back with Dr. Aimee. She gladly accepted to help us with our second. I cannot praise Dr. Aimee enough! She is a literal angel on earth. The reason we went to Dr. Aimee for our first son was because we didn't want to be treated like another number on a conveyor belt and she did not disappoint. Dr. Aimee goes above and beyond what anyone could ever expect as a patient. She has amazing bedside manners, she's hilarious and she answers any and all questions very thoroughly - I always wonder how she sleeps. If results didn't go our way, she showed us so much compassion. We never felt like another number/statistic and that's more than you can ever ask for while going through the stress of IVF. She might not take insurance, but you definitely get what you pay for. I've been with her for 2 retrievals, 6 years apart resulting in my 2 beautiful babies. We cannot thank Dr. Aimee enough! I've seen her practice expand and it's exciting to see how many more people she's able to help. Her team is AMAZING, warm and comforting. They communicate and troubleshoot issues efficiently and effectively. I never had any surprises with procedures or billing. We would recommend her a million times over because she is such a gem in Healthcare and an amazing human being. Thank you Dr. Aimee for helping us expand our family two times!! Saying we are greatful for Dr. Aimee is an understatement. We get to cherish our beautiful babies because of you. We love you!

Dr. Fox is caring and kind and wants her patients to succeed. She is easy to talk to about seemingly difficult medical subjects, and will spend time to understand and get the care you need. I thought I was just getting acupuncture when I signed up, but what a pleasant surprise that she also has helped me manage a supplement routine to balance my hormones, as well as sold me equipment and videos for doing TENS and LED treatments at home. I know that when I eventually try to conceive, I will have Dr. Fox to thank for her detail-oriented treatment and listening to my every need. Our experience with Spring Fertility was disappointing from start to finish. We came in hopeful,…read morebut quickly realized this clinic was not the right fit for us as a same-sex couple. We've spoken with multiple people who have used their services, and the feedback is truly mixed--some had good experiences, others barely satisfactory and some were REALLY BAD. Unfortunately, ours fell on the negative end. If you are a heterosexual couple, you may have a smoother experience. However, as a same-sex couple, we did not feel welcomed or supported. We've since connected with five other LGBTQ couples who shared very similar concerns, which says a lot about a pattern rather than a one-off experience. Our doctor, Dr. Nam Tran, came across as arrogant and condescending which has the same tones in some of the other reviews on this platform. At multiple points, we felt like we were wasting his time rather than being valued patients during what is already a very emotional and vulnerable process. He was late and then proceeded to say he has another appointment and we didn't get the full time. We constantly had to call the clinic because they don't call back after leaving a message from the previous week. We always were on time for our appointments and were always delayed to be taken in. While the clinic may now have an LGBTQ staff member, that alone does not make the environment inclusive or affirming. Our experience did not reflect meaningful change or genuine understanding. We ultimately decided to leave and seek care elsewhere, which was the best decision for us. For anyone considering this clinic, we strongly recommend doing thorough research. There are lawsuits filed in 2025 in California alleging negligence and embryo loss, with concerns raised about prioritizing profit over patient care. These are serious issues and worth looking into before making such an important decision. We would not recommend this clinic to LGBTQ couples seeking compassionate, respectful fertility care. Initially, we also considered Spring Fertility Center in SF due to many recommendations, but after our first visit with Dr. Joy Brotherton, we felt confident that MFC was the right place for us. Dr. Brotherton treated us as individuals, not just another case or a number for their statistics. She took the time to explain everything about IUI and IVF, enabling us to make informed decisions. Because I was running out of time, we decided to pursue IVF. Throughout the process, the entire team was incredibly supportive. Linda at the front desk, the administrative coordinator Maria (who handled all the insurance matters), and the nurses--Isabel, Ginger, Lia, Jennifer (and others)--were all so sweet and caring. I have very difficult veins to work with, and Isabel was always patient and approached it with a great sense of humor. I only interacted with Dr. Uzelac a few times, but he was kind and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Brotherton was exceptional--she always responded to my emails in less than 24 hours, and she was always open to hear my suggestions on the treatment, it felt like a two way conversation, this rare to find when dealing with doctors. And the clinic answered my calls promptly 95% of the time with immediate and helpful responses. In a long and stressful process like IVF, that level of communication is invaluable. After two egg retrievals, I am now living my miracle--pregnant with my first child. My only suggestion for improvement would be regarding Prya, the first insurance coordinator I interacted with. Unfortunately, she was rude and made me feel like I was a burden. However, after I brought this to the clinic's attention, they reassigned my case to Maria, who was wonderful and handled everything perfectly. Overall, I am so thankful we chose MFC. The entire staff made this journey special and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

From the beginning the vibe was tense in the office, everyone seemed a bit stressed, even the front desk wasn't very friendly. We later learned good friends of ours had also paid high dollars for no results and felt the weird vibe we felt. Dr Brotheron was nice, if I was to bet, she'll move on. We did and got pregnant. We found a clinic with a warm vibe that does much deeper genetic tests and had much better reviews. Reviews matter. Most couples have one shot at this, choose wisely.

My interactions with Dr. Agard were positive; my concerns were primarily with the rest of the staff. I was instructed to go to a third-party vendor for blood work, while my husband, who is white, was able to have his blood work done on-site. This immediately made me feel as though we were being treated differently. That feeling was reinforced during a meeting with the marriage counselor. She was rude and unexpectedly asked whether we were prepared to raise a mixed-race child. In 2025, I was shocked that this would even be a topic of discussion in this setting. Combined with the consistently slow response times, we ultimately decided to seek care elsewhere and in the city. When we informed the practice of our decision, the response was simply, "Okay." No one asked for feedback or seemed interested in understanding our concerns. I cannot say with certainty why we had this experience, but as a person of color in a mixed-race marriage, I left feeling not safe, uncomfortable and unwelcome. If you are part of a mixed-race couple or from a minority background, I think it's important to be aware that your experience here may differ from others.

Blue Ova is more than just acupuncture, fertility care, and pre- and perinatal care...Blue Ova is a…read more*lifestyle*. I came to Robin and her team two years ago, after experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss and seeking guidance in all the unknowns that my fertility's future held. Having never tried acupuncture or had a fertility/health coach, I didn't know fully what I should expect. From meeting Robin for my first consultation to starting my first acupuncture sessions with Jessica and Evelyn (who were both so easy to talk to and very thoughtful around my care), a newfound sense of hope and excitement in the potential for living a healthier lifestyle and hoping one day I could achieve a live birth was reignited. And so my journey began: November 2022: Blue Ova 101. I began learning all things nutrition (foods for my cycle and body-warming foods/drinks), supplements, sleep, fertility exercises, resources to read up on, and even eliminating common toxins and striving for a more EWG-life. This is what I mean when I say Blue Ova is a lifestyle! December 2022: Blue Ova 102. Learned more about the potential underlying contributors to my RPL. Robin and her team coached me on the specific medical exams and labs that I should ask my OB for, and how to advocate for myself in the world of western medicine. January 2023: Fertility decisions. During my weekly sessions, Robin (and Jessica & Evelyn who I primarily saw) provided me with general education and resources/clinics for my fertility options, which ultimately led me and my husband deciding to have our embryos tested. February 2023: We did our first egg retrieval and PGA testing with an outside clinic. After yielding 3 PGA normal embryos from our first round, Robin helped craft an even more catered individualized treatment plan for us going into our 2 retrieval in hopes we'd yield more normal embryos. March 2023: It worked...all the micro shifts that Robin/team added in including red light therapy helped to boost a handful more great quality embryos! May 2023: Our first transfer failed unfortunately, but me, along with the Blue Ova team, who I met with primarily during this time, Robin, Tanja, and Allison, prevailed! They recommended I added in women's probiotics, a detox cleanse, red light therapy, and a break (for my body, and central nervous system). August 2023: After integrating all of the interventions as tailored exactly for my needs, we were pregnant! I saw Allison on a weekly basis throughout my pregnancy, leading up to warm-up labor, and I despite all the unpredictables during pregnancy, I felt very well taken care of. Fast forward to 38 weeks later, we finally had our sweet angel baby in our arms. We could not have braved our way navigating our fertility journey and the healthcare system without the support from Robin et al, but also from our doula and my therapist (specializes in IVF/pre-perinatal topics), yoga instructor, and prenatal massage therapist, all of who were recommended through Blue Ova. All of the office staff are so wonderful and welcoming, the clinic is very clean and serene, there are options for super early morning sessions or late evening ones too (for those with tight schedules!), and it's in the beautiful heart of Noe Valley. All boxes checked! And, if you couldn't tell by my novel of a review that Blue Ova is really the best in the game, this investment in yourself, your health, or whatever journey you are on is 100% worth it.

I was clear from the start that I wasn't sure if I wanted to harvest eggs and create embryos. I never had the NEED that some women have when it comes to being a mom and I didn't want to go through this process if my chances for success aren't likely. I said I would like my doctor to be very up front and tell me if it looks like it will happen or not. Dr Fischer met with us multiple times before hand and was very informative, he gave me options that others didn't but most importantly he listened to my concerns and was honest in his opinions. Although my surgeon was able to get all the cancer out we were still going to proceed with the protocol for cancer patients. Since I was still apprehensive about having kids at all, on the morning I was supposed to start injections I made my final decision to not pursue IVF. The process isn't easy and since I'm still recovering from surgery I didn't see the value in doing this for the potential for 0-1 embryo. It isn't important enough for me to do IVF and try for nothing. If I would end up with 2 or 3 embryos I would have done it but not for less. Again he was very supportive and said if I wanted to try later I can since I won't be doing chemo and in a year my fertility won't drastically change. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this team and if I decided to try I would use them.

She made every decision with precision and purpose, and we are forever grateful for her role in giving us a viable pregnancy. I've seen some negative reviews about her being too serious or not warm enough. But she's not here to sugarcoat--she's here to help you get pregnant. She's not a miracle worker or a god, but she's a highly skilled doctor who makes bold, thoughtful decisions based on science and experience. The rest is up to your body. Also, I've seen some reviews criticizing her for telling patients to lose weight before proceeding. But honestly--what's wrong with that? Don't we want to be as healthy as possible for pregnancy? I personally lost 10 pounds in the months leading up to our transfer because I wanted to give my body the best chance. Dr. Ratcliffe doesn't sugarcoat things--but that's because she's focused on outcomes, not comfort. If what you care about is results, not small talk, you're in good hands with Dr. Ratcliffe. My wife and I had been trying to conceive for over a year and were referred to her office in Santa Rosa. Since we live nearly two hours away, this visit required significant effort and planning. Upon arrival, the front office staff were kind, professional, and welcoming. Unfortunately, that is where the positive experience ended. From the moment we met Dr. Ratcliffe, she came across as aggressively condescending, dismissive, and paternalistic. Her demeanor toward both patients and staff was shockingly disrespectful, she openly insults and belittled her assistants in front of us. Moreover, she spoke to us as though we were incapable of understanding basic information. Throughout the consultation, she made multiple demeaning and inappropriate remarks toward both my wife and me. For instance, she repeatedly referenced my wife's age (40) in a mocking, sarcastic tone, rather than addressing it professionally or compassionately. She would call her old multiple times and then laugh about it. I am not even joking. Her overall approach felt more like that of a pushy salesperson than a trusted medical professional. Instead of listening to our concerns, medical history, or family goals, she launched into an aggressive sales pitch for IVF treatment, emphasizing that we were "running out of time." At no point did she ask what we had already tried, what our preferences were, or whether we had any questions. The most disturbing part of the visit occurred during the ultrasound exam. Dr. Ratcliffe was extremely rough and careless, so much so that my wife cried out in pain. When my wife told her she was hurting her, Dr. Ratcliffe grinned and said, "Yeah, I know," before continuing. This behavior was appalling, unprofessional, and completely devoid of empathy. After she left the room, my wife and I immediately looked at each other and agreed that we would never return. The experience felt violating, dehumanizing, and unsafe. In my opinion, Dr. Ratcliffe should not be practicing medicine. A doctor's first obligation is to "do no harm." Based on our experience, Dr. Ratcliffe not only fails to uphold that standard but actively causes harm--both through her behavior and her disregard for patient well-being. I share this review in the hope that others will be spared from the same treatment we endured.
