I could have walked in and had a session that moment, but I opted to schedule it for the future, which I have now completed. The sauna rooms are super small and private, with only a video guide. For me this is great, because I get nervous around other people. Make sure to hydrate well before your first trial or you'll suffer a bit. The app is awesome, unlocks the door and schedules everything. There seem to be lots of incentives to go often and get fit.

If you Yelp pilates in SLO you will find a very limited number of options. Sadly, the pilates craze seemed to have missed our beach town, so when I heard about Pilates Collective, I had to give it a trial run. Before you attend a class, they recommend you take a private class with a trainer one-on-one. Pilates reformers can be really intimidating and confusing to understand for newbies, so it is a nice touch that they give you a discounted personal session before you jump in. It also gives you a chance to get to know one of the trainers a little better to see if you vibe with their style. After my first one-on-one, I was hooked! I got myself a class pass and fully committed. All of the classes are very small with a maximum of 6 people total. I adore the small class structure because it forces you to improve your movement. The teachers are absolute hawks and will check if your form is off. It is amazing because it reduces the chance of injury and insures you are getting the most out of your workout. Some of my favorite teachers are Chloe and Marcy. Marcy's classes are really hard, but the best workout! She really pushes you to improve your strength. The owner Kiera, also teaches classes and she is so dedicated to the pilates. It truly shows in the studio and the camaraderie between everyone. The teachers really get to know the regular students. It makes you feel so welcome when you get to class. The only downside about Pilates Collective is the pricing. It is a steep price for a class pack. The reformer and all the equipment costs a pretty penny, so you have to empathize. I personally think the class pass is worth it, but something to keep in mind before you get yourself hooked like I did. My favorite thing about this studio is that they constantly advocate for doing pilates to improve your strength and stamina, not to just lose weight. It creates an inclusive environment and makes everyone feel comfortable (no matter your size). You do not see a lot of that in Southern California, so huge kudos developing this safe space for all shapes and sizes.
