    Almost died on the Autauga creek today! We had a group of 7 rent from Prattville Powersport and…read moremost of us were beginners. Our kayaks kept capsizing every time we hit trees and struggled to hold on to our kayaks. We struggled mostly because the water level was too high and the current was really strong! Most of us got out in some guy's backyard around mile marker 4. The rest of us made it all the way down to the Alabama River because we were looking for the BIG SIGN that was supposed to tell us where to get out of the water but missed it since it was apparently washed away! We ended up paddling back UPRIVER for 2 miles where the Police shooting range is. We are pretty upset with the lack of warning, signage, training and safety precautions. Not sure why this is the ONLY place that offers kayak/canoe service because I think these guys are just way too complacent. Now I understand that the concept of time is a bit different here in the south, but there are just a few ways to improve efficiency for their kayak service. For one, When making reservations, it'd be nice to have them have all the gear prepped and ready when they know they've got people reserved for the day. Instead we had to wait 1.5 hours just to get all the stuff loaded, sign the paperwork, AND have to wait for some goober who got lost to arrive holding up the rest of our party. I really think they should've worked with the city folks to check the water levels to make sure it was even safe to decide to even get into the water. On top of that, we should've been briefed better on what to expect and what to look out for. I mean, if I were a much weaker/older person trying to do this, we'd probably still be floating downriver towards Florida somewhere by now getting rescued by the police or Coast Guard. Anyway, one of our folks lost our paddles and were charged $35. Considering how this place put our lives in danger, we shouldn't have had to pay for that. I understand that they were short staffed today but that's no excuse for people's safety!

    Terrible customer service... shockingly bad actually. Went in for a straightforward job that…read moreshould have taken an hour or two at most and walked out 4 hours later with damage to my car and half my day wasted. First thing, Nick the owner/manager is rude and condescending. He's not in the business of treating customers well and that it obvious from the first time you speak to him or look into his eyes. He's cocky, arrogant, and kind of a jerk. They estimated 2 hours at $75 an hour to do a job. At about 3 hours I asked what the status was and was told they had only done half the work. Not only that, what they proceeded to show me was very poorly done and when I rightfully and calmly pointed out that it was taking a much longer time than even they estimated and that it looked bad every reacted about as poorly as you could for a business dealing with a customer. The desk clerk and owner who I was dealing with both reacted very defensively and became rude in about 2 seconds flat which made an uncomfortable situation deteriorate very quickly. From there it became obvious that they treat customers like dirt and it starts from the top. Nick needs a major attitude adjustment and course in how to treat customers otherwise this will continue to happen. Customer service starts with a smile and an apology if the customer isn't happy and then doing what you can to make things right. Seems simple but that's a foreign concept to this business. Altough, the tech that came out and pointed out the work wasn't the best seemed to get it... however, he was with the boss who I can only imagine is a nightmare to work for so he was obviously watching what he said. Again, Nick is an absolute nightmare of guy and should just stay away from customers and stick to his office if he wants his business to survive. He's probably one of the worst managers I've even interacted with in my life. No joke. Unfortunately it's just a matter of time and this will be the beginning of the end of this place. It's a shame because they have a nice facility and the Auburn location couldn't have been nicer when I called to ask for help with my situation which it appears they did because I left 20 minutes later with the vinyl off the car and 4 hours of time wasted which was a win at that point which should tell you something. This place doesn't deserve your business with their current management and attitude. Look elsewhere.
