My kids have been through a few different types of tennis lessons, but they say Coach Albert's is…read moretheir favorite. At first it was hard for me to understand why, since his lessons are unconventional given they are not actually held on a tennis court but on a grassy lawn with a bunch of tennis training equipment. But I learned that this is intentional as he wants kids to focus on developing the proper form and skills first, rather than chasing balls all around a tennis court. And it seems to work; my kids understand what proper strokes look and feel like and have more technical knowledge of the game vs when they did other lessons before. At the end of the lesson, they usually do some competitive fun rallies (yup, still on the lawn, but it works) with the other class members which my kids look forward to. Eventually once their skills improve beyond a certain point, the coach will transition them over to lessons on a court. Pricing is reasonable and you can easily skip/reschedule classes as long as you provide him a day's notice.

If you're looking for a tennis coach in the San Francisco area, I highly recommend Yuri. During our…read moreshort visit to SF, he was able to fit my sister into his schedule on very short notice and was incredibly responsive throughout the process. He arranged court time and private instruction for the next two days, making everything easy and seamless for us. Yuri was punctual, positive, enthusiastic, and clearly invested in helping his players improve. My sister is a high school varsity tennis player, and he gave her a thoughtful, high-level assessment of her game. He provided specific, actionable feedback on her backhand, slice, volleys, serve, and drop shot, which is advice she has continued to use now that we are back home in Minnesota. What stood out most was his coaching style. Yuri does not simply watch a player repeat the same mistake; he identifies the issue, explains how to correct it, and helps the player make adjustments in the moment. We have worked with other coaches before, and his attention to detail and genuine care for his players really set him apart. Since returning to Minnesota, others have already commented on my sister's overall improvement. We are very grateful for Yuri's instruction and would absolutely work with him again whenever we are in San Francisco.
