As a government employee, Diane K. excells in customer service and I like to praise and commend upper management for having such phenomenal representative like Diane K. represent Kenosha County. Having officials like Diane K. is what separates Kenosha County from other government court houses.

The nickname "Cream City" comes from the distinct cream-colored bricks found on many of the city's buildings. Although downtown is very walkable, there is a bus & trolley system. Known for breweries and bratwurst, one or the other of those are on practically every corner. I've not historically been the biggest fan of bratwurst but had a Reuben bratwurst that makes my mouth water thinking about it. I had fun going to some shops with my little one, including a couple children's shops (BlackBear Boutique and Rainbow Booksellers, in particular). Rainbow Booksellers is only open a couple days per week so make sure to prioritize it if you are wanting to go. I'd planned to take my kiddo to the children's museum, but she fell asleep so that will wait for another trip. I think there are at least a couple children's museum-like places here. And in the downtown area there are several music venues; I've only been to Pabst many years ago, and I'd love to visit the High Life Theatre as well. And soon will attend a Brewers game to see the sausage race live and in person!

I had to get a copy of my birth certificate from the very official Register of Deeds. The process was pretty easy and it cost me a whole $20. Walk in, fill out form, get copy of proof that I exist, pay twenty bones, walk out. There's a metal detector, and you have to walk through it. I think that's customary in court-type-houses, generally. Also: Register of Deeds is a pretty ridiculous and official title. Not as official or ridiculous as Comptroller, though.

I was summoned for jury duty here, and had the honor of being actually chosen for a jury. The place…read moreseemed very clean, and all of the staff were friendly. The security even had a sense of humor and made sure to get everyone inside as quickly as possible. Having been to the Maywood court house in the past, I am pleased to say this court house is light years better, and likely the best place to go for jury duty in Cook County. If you are summoned here for jury duty, know that if it is early in the week, there is a very good chance you will be called in and interviewed. Regardless, it would be wise to prepare to be there all day, and bring a book or magazine to read, or a laptop. They do have two televisions for people in the waiting area (for those not called in). If you are called in, expect to be sitting for a very long time, and unable to do anything but wait to be interviewed, and listen to the interviews of others.
