(To be fair, they may bake a lot of American style treats, but it is staffed and frequented by mostly locals. The cashier graciously went and found the one staff member who spoke English to help me. Very kind.) I had ordered about a dozen different items - cookies, brownies, pies - and we all had a great time sampling them after dinner. Every single one was absolutely delicious! This little tea shop is everything you want a tea shop to be…read more There are rows of loose leaf teas in a variety of flavors-- and they're kept in gorgeous black tins. You can smell samples to find your favorite or flip through the impressive menu. You can order a cup of tea or buy loose leaf to take home. Loose leaf tea is sold by weight (grams), and the prices were very fair. I spent roughly €13 on 150 grams of tea and one tea tin (€3) that held 50 of it. (The rest went into provided containers.) All of it traveled home well and made for tasty tea times! The shop also has a variety of chocolates and tea cookies. Everything looked amazing! And the owner was so warm and welcoming. I will make OroNero a must visit on my next trip to Florence and if you're a tea drinker, you should, too!

Nduja is a spicy Calabrian pepper spreadable pork sauce, and oh boy was it so flavorful. If I remembered correctly, Melaleuca spread this sauce on top of a fried bread and eggs. I don't see it on the menu at the moment and it's probably a rotatable dish... but it definitely kicked started my hunt for the sauce. Since this is a spreadable pork, it's not something I could bring back to the US but I was able to find it online back home. The service was amazing and the beverages were delicious. Like many Italian places, the dining room is small and bathroom is a single small room that might require a small wait if they're busy. Didn't get to try their baked goods this last time, but definitely on our list to go back for more when we're back to Florence for a visit.

It is exactly what I like to have in a comfortable coffee shop... a lot of eclectic decorations, comfortable furniture and variety of places to sit. It has a lot of windows for sunlight and a second floor for those who like to enjoy a loft-like experience. My wife and I had cappuccino's and pastries, both were great.
