Most of the products are organic, some vegan, and healthy foods that have minimal additives. For example, they don't carry carbonated soda. They have a Deli section, as you first walk in on the right, with some premade sandwiches, that look very good, a coffee bar, gelato. There's an indoor dining area and an outdoor dining area. They have vegetables, fruits, groceries, and some non-food items. Teas, some snacks, canned/bottled foods. The staff is bilingual; that comes in handy when you're French is on a junior high school level, and hasn't been used in decades. =)

Very comfortable to shop there. They have a few sales areas, and conventionally grown produce. Believe it or not, if you only have a few bucks but you want to stay healthy you can feed yourself quite well. They have a small vitamin/supplement area, very cramped, and someone sits there to help, but they are friendly. The store is cramped and there is always someone in the way of someone else. The atmosphere of that store is so great, it can be forgiven. It is not perfect, but you can tell they try. That makes all the difference. Returning items is not easy. Bulk organic coffee is the best price. The bulk organic olive oil is always going empty also a good deal. Bulk organic nuts and seeds. Sometimes I try shopping at other stores to see if I can get a better deal without suffering and the answer is no.

Some stuff that's hard to find at IGA and Metro? Bet you Hannah's hut's got it. For a place that looks so small, I've been amazed at how it feels like a Mary poppins bag. Twice now was looking for stuff I couldn't find (coconut shavings, and poppyseed), asked an employee, and a fast moving korean lady would come out the back and find exactly what it is and where in random spots. They pack a lot in those shelves! And stuff I thought I'd only find in Chinatown or Asian grocery stores, they have it pretty much all the major staples here!! Fruits and veggies are fresher here than anywhere else in my opinion. And fresh herbs! Thank God I don't need to learn how to urban plant stuff during lockdown because I suck at keeping succulents alive. They also have some fresh cold pressed juices, an impressive nut display, an entire wall of organic teas, and some korean/Asian prepared foods (kimbap, kimchi, bimbimbap, Vietnamese rolls). They even have some OG Chinese tiger balm and pei pa kao tucked near the bottom of the side of the cash register. They clearly have a more holistic and healthy eating approach with many many choices of gluten free flours and healthy alternatives to most products (like ice cream and frozen meals). Everyone is super nice and they take social distancing and safety seriously even asking some customers to wait when it's busy. A truly wonderful place to shop and get nearly everything you need. They were known as the first natural products grocery store in Quebec over 35 years ago at the corner of Rachel and Berri Streets. Customers here love the organic, natural or local products free from chemical preservatives, additives, artificial flavors and colorings. I stopped in here to check out their produce and prepared foods...everything looked very fresh and very appealing. The prices area competitive in terms of organic stores is concerned, but definitely higher priced that a Provigo or IGA.

Meaning no more carbs, potatoes (and especially French fries which I love) bread, rice and sugar. I'm a big curry and stir-fry cooker at home so letting go of rice and noodles is hard for me. After doing a ton of research online, there are now keto-friendly breads sugar substitutes like munkfruit sugar and erythritol and rice and noodle substitutes like Shirataki Konjac rice or Konjac noodles, made from a Japanese tuber named Konjac which is very low in carbs. OK now I know what to get but where to get it without breaking the bank at specialty health food stores? I found a lot of keto dry ingredients at other places but keto bread and rice was still hard to find at an affordable rate. Well, I found the best prices for Konjac products here at Rachelle Bery. I also found frozen keto-friendly bread here which I haven't found anywhere else. I saw a lot of other specials here to like Veggie Stix snacks. Going keto doesn't have to mean going bankrupt but at least now, I know where I can find some options.
