a grocery store with a variety of products

What a neat small grocery store in downtown Montreal. I was on the hunt for a brand of beer from the area. They do not sell beer. They can sell wine, but you need to buy food at the little bistro area within this store. The food in the bistro area looked very good. The fresh veggies and meats looked very good. Nice selection of condiments as well. The employees all super friendly.

This is an upscale local market, specialty convenience store on Viger. The setup is very well done, clean and upscale. They have a wide selection of most things you can find in a supermarket like snacks, milk, meats, tofu, vegetables, beauty products, water, etc. The prices are a bit higher than a regular supermarket but you are paying for the city/urban convenience. Although they do run some specials, so keep an eye on them. They have a nice section of prepared foods and bakery. Nice friendly staff.

They were known as the first natural products grocery store in Quebec over 35 years ago at the corner of Rachel and Berri Streets. Customers here love the organic, natural or local products free from chemical preservatives, additives, artificial flavors and colorings. I stopped in here to check out their produce and prepared foods...everything looked very fresh and very appealing. The prices area competitive in terms of organic stores is concerned, but definitely higher priced that a Provigo or IGA.

So I have to follow the keto diet now under doctor's orders,…read morewhich isn't a biggie since it's high on meat, lots of veggies, especially leafy green vegetables, full fat dairy (yay!) and some fruits. Meaning no more carbs, potatoes (and especially French fries which I love) bread, rice and sugar. I'm a big curry and stir-fry cooker at home so letting go of rice and noodles is hard for me. After doing a ton of research online, there are now keto-friendly breads sugar substitutes like munkfruit sugar and erythritol and rice and noodle substitutes like Shirataki Konjac rice or Konjac noodles, made from a Japanese tuber named Konjac which is very low in carbs. OK now I know what to get but where to get it without breaking the bank at specialty health food stores? I found a lot of keto dry ingredients at other places but keto bread and rice was still hard to find at an affordable rate. Well, I found the best prices for Konjac products here at Rachelle Bery. I also found frozen keto-friendly bread here which I haven't found anywhere else. I saw a lot of other specials here to like Veggie Stix snacks. Going keto doesn't have to mean going bankrupt but at least now, I know where I can find some options.

Thank you Hannah's hut for saving so many of my meals!! I came here on a friend's recommendation…read moreand I'm so glad I did! They have some of the freshest, best priced produce anywhere around. Some stuff that's hard to find at IGA and Metro? Bet you Hannah's hut's got it. For a place that looks so small, I've been amazed at how it feels like a Mary poppins bag. Twice now was looking for stuff I couldn't find (coconut shavings, and poppyseed), asked an employee, and a fast moving korean lady would come out the back and find exactly what it is and where in random spots. They pack a lot in those shelves! And stuff I thought I'd only find in Chinatown or Asian grocery stores, they have it pretty much all the major staples here!! Fruits and veggies are fresher here than anywhere else in my opinion. And fresh herbs! Thank God I don't need to learn how to urban plant stuff during lockdown because I suck at keeping succulents alive. They also have some fresh cold pressed juices, an impressive nut display, an entire wall of organic teas, and some korean/Asian prepared foods (kimbap, kimchi, bimbimbap, Vietnamese rolls). They even have some OG Chinese tiger balm and pei pa kao tucked near the bottom of the side of the cash register. They clearly have a more holistic and healthy eating approach with many many choices of gluten free flours and healthy alternatives to most products (like ice cream and frozen meals). Everyone is super nice and they take social distancing and safety seriously even asking some customers to wait when it's busy. A truly wonderful place to shop and get nearly everything you need. Please continue supporting them!

First of all I found the prices to be a little higher than other health food stores I've visited…read more The store is big, but the shelves are empty . Every time I've gone the fruits & vegetables section was almost questionable . They didn't look fresh, the tempatture in the store is to high for these produce I find which makes them all "mooshie" . They don't last very long if you do buy them , maybe a day or 2 before starting to rot . Most sale items are either expired or expiring within a day. I went because it's quiet and they had a specific item that other health stores don't carry. Second of all what started with a good experience ended up in a very bad one. I noticed after my last visit that they had charged extra item on my bill. A 20$ item to be exact!!! ! I didn't notice on the moment since I had bought other things from the "pharmacy" section and didn't "click" why my bill was higher than expected. My mistake was to not check my bill on site, i felt bad for holding up the line . The cashier was alone and she had about 6 other customers behind me. So I rushed ou When I noticed , I went back to advise them of their error and the cashier told me it was highly impossible that she had made a mistake because the item was in the middle of my bill. I tried to explain to her that the lady behind me had the item that was scanned on my bill. She had left it on the counter while she went to get something else in the store and when the cashier put her scanner down it probably scanned the item by accident ( cause store scanners do that if you leave the barcode in front of the red light it scans by itself ( I've worked in many store and this has happened to me by mistake)) . She refused to believe me, told me the manager would check the cameras and call me within a day or two. Never received a call back from the manager . I had to call back numerous times, they never answer the phone . Only once did I get to speak to the same cashier and she said I'll remind the manager and I'll call you back. It's going on two weeks of me calling and never getting an answer . I don't live next door so it's hard for me to go all the way to the stores, cause trust me I would be there everyday until they admit their error. Even if they don't admit it , atleast CALL YOUR CUSTOMER BACK ! It's the least they could of done. Because now it ends with me having a really bad experience with this store because they don't care about their customers. CHECK YOUR BILLS ON SITE , don't care about keeping up the line if it's going to save you your well earned money ! Now the store has charged 2 customers for 1 item and I find that very unfair ! They should be able to see in the inventory that they sold one more than what they actually were holding in store.

On the plus side, there is a very good selection of organic products and healthy oriented food. I…read morewould be careful about the pricing. Several items i had found considerably less expensive in other stores, in particular now that the larger chains are getting into this market. I dropped my rating by a star (from my original 3) due to the fact that there may be a lot of people who have been overcharged for their purchases. The cashier we had charged us tax on some food items. When approached by this oversight , the cashier blamed the cash register. I dont know whose fault it was , but please check your bills before leaving.
