Jamie is as amazing a therapist as is a genuinely kind person to talk to…read more During your session she will engage you and will recall things that you have told her months earlier. She will reflect on what she has learned about you, and with insight and great skill, make sense of your troubles. She does it with such compassion and effortlessness that a seasoned grandmother of a big family could learn from it! She is quite versatile; Jamie's therapeutic methods are very powerful and healing but she can also give down-to-earth, practical advise for "real life" situations. If you had a particularly tricky problem she can even recommend you to specialists because she is connected with other therapists. Her manners are warm and friendly, you feel like you are in good hands during your session. I have tried to go to therapy before but often it felt like I was having my teeth pulled without anesthetics. In contrast, Jamie makes you feel like you are having tea with a friend who cares about you a lot! Her office is clean and neat and is in a good part of town. She is fairly flexible to make appointments and asks for a reasonable fee well worth spending. After every session I came away with sighs of relief; Jamie's therapy will enable you to heal yourself and feel good about life.

In an academic setting she is incredibly kind, approachable, and disarming. She taught my classmates and I how to conduct thorough interviews and interpret psychodiagnostic assessment measures to construct an integrative and holistic view of each client's presenting concerns. Dr. Epstein placed much emphasis on the therapeutic value of assessment feedback and taught sensitive and creative approaches to relating assessment findings to clients.

From this place, she's been able to work with me to dig deeper, ask real questions to better understand myself, and look at what choices I have in how to approach my life. Part of what makes working with her so transformative is that she combines cognitive and somatic approaches to therapy, allowing her to really get at what is going on, and all without being new-agey. Vanessa has helped me look at what is deepest and hardest in my life as well as just find ways to better relate to my family and myself. Having seen many therapists, I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

She does so in the most disarming and nurturing way that leaves one able to look upon a complex that has one stuck and writhing, lovingly and with full acceptance. From there she holds out the invitation of engaging that mystery and staying with it to determine whether or not it can't be the piece that will lead to liberation. She encourages one to embrace the strange paradox's that actually encourage purposeful living, and help one navigate the often confusing landscape of the human psyche. An astute facilitator of helping people to reclaim a sense of empowerment and internal equilibrium, capable of wading through the most unpleasant of complexes to find the accord that can allow one to sit in their own power while facing shadows that may bedevil you. Interrupting the incessant critical voices that we have all internalized, to help one see themselves in their totality and pin point what is truly important in the arc of a life. The fact that she is present to allow a person's process to unfold on it's own without trying to interpret what it means in some psychotherapy model is her core strength, she has a knack for creating a space to let the material emerge and allow the client to come to their own answers. Combine a loving personality and a sense of compassion for every one she interacts with and you have one stellar human being! If there is any issue that is obsessing you or all the traditional methods for moving forward have failed than Sefora is the person to go to, in order to get things back on track. Even in the pits of despair, she can through acting as a creative catalyst pull one out from the ocean of darkness back into the light of day. Highly skilled and intuitive professional.
