This place is gorgeous! From the second I walked in, I felt welcome. Not your typical doctors office, very kid friendly, and animal friendly. They have a guinea pig and therapy dogs in the office constantly which makes for a fun time. This place is a retreat, and the work they do is making such a positive impact. The therapists here go above and beyond any expectation I ever had for a therapist. They have work cellphones and respond to texts and emails between sessions, and they customize all their services to make sure they know exactly what their clients need to meet their goals. Excellent customer service, response times, and snacks! I highly recommend for anyone who is hesitant to therapy, thinking about going, or ready to jump in. I always really liked the office staff. But I agree with another reviewer that children's needs are commoditized at this practice. That is the perfect word. We have since moved on to another therapist and I am a big believer in therapy, but find this group's practices to be very profit centered and not patient centered. Andrea dumped both of our children out of her therapy (for two very different reasons). I came to find out that my daughter just played games with her and (in her words) "never really discussed much of anything". This is in definite contrast to her new therapist. My son was fired from his group literally in front of other parents. NOT ok. read more

Beware. These clinicians treat their patients and families as commodities. Many clinicians aren't supervised or board certified. They pushed ABA despite our candor against it, and when we asked to speak with a clinical director to complain no action. We finally pulled our vulnerable child out and will file formal complaints. read more

This is a hard review to write as no words can say how much Dr. Mazzola has helped our family. Definitely not enough words to thank her. My son was 5 turning 6 and he was lost, angry, sad and we as parents felt like we were losing him, losing our family's happiness. We came to her and she saw the good in not only my son but in us as parents. She helped us learn different parenting techniques, she helped build our son's confidence and ours too. She never judged or had anything negative to say about our situation. She gave us the tools to help our son find his way, handle his anger and build up his self esteem so he is happier. So our family is happier. It has been almost two years since she came into our lives and sometimes we don't call her for months and other times we can be contacting her daily. Life can throw us all sorts of things and parenting is one that has no instructions but for our family, having Dr. M in our corner reminds us we are not alone. My husband and I are doing the best we can for our kids every day but when we feel like we are drowning, need some help or advice or just someone to talk to she is always there for our family. We have been to therapists before and there is nobody like her. Period. She is bad ass. Thank you Dr. Mazzola!! I highly recommend this practice and especially Flavia DeCoite. Flavia is the therapist that my daughter sees and we both are beyond thankful to her. My daughter suffers from a great deal of anxiety. The anxiety was starting to cripple her and she was withdrawing from everything and everyone she enjoyed. A friend referred us to Flavia and she has changed my daughter's life. My daughter is able to have a normal life with friends and school activities and as a mother I can't tell you how happy I am to have my daughter back, smiling and just being a kid. What an experience! From the second I called in looking for support, I was met with a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental tone from the practice manager who heard what I needed and pointed me in the right direction with exactly what I needed to get going. I was a bit nervous reaching out, but she made me feel so comfortable in the process. Aesthetically, the place is absolutely gorgeous! Doesn't feel like a doctors office at all and a not intimidating, very homey feel. I was welcomed with a smile, warm coffee (they also have tea and snacks!) and each person I saw in passing said hello and made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.  Can't say enough about this place! Its been over a year since last we worked with Dr. Mazzola so this review is long overdue. I cannot stress enough how much we gained and learned from having Dr. Mazzola work with us and our son. Our 5 year old was having many issues with Kindergarten, and we were at a loss with how to best help us. As the other reviewer said, she only saw the good and strengths in our son, and gave him and us tools to work with him. Overtime, as we worked with her and implemented her strategies, we saw a change. Its hard to believe how far we've come. Dr. Mazzola was incredibly patient and thorough, and was always there for us (during session, if we needed to call her from home, which we did a few times). I have recommended her to many of my friends, and wouldn't hesitate to use her again if needed. read more

Dr. Mazzola is absolutely incredible! My daughter had experienced bullying, and had no self esteem when we began seeing her. Her anxiety was through the roof, and upon first entering Blackhawk Medical Group, Dr. Mazzola came out and introduced herself and immediately began pointing out the genuine sweetness and kindness that she saw in my daughter. We began seeing her regularly, and the way she honestly addresses and words her insight on the situations involving my daughter, just had me in awe of the magnitude of her skills and the care she takes to word them as well. I literally tear up when I hear her speak her wisdom...she gives hope, in a kind and loving way, all the while giving constructive criticism when needed in the same way, so the kids feel cared for...not judged. I could not recommend this Doctor enough. If you need any help in your family structures, with your kids, spouse or otherwise -- Dr. Mazolla is a one of a kind therapist and counselor. She is absolutely brilliant and choosing to work with her is the best thing I ever did for my family. I met with her first to assist me with my daughter who was showing disgruntlement at a young age. Dr. Mazolla identified several unique issues and helped us create real strategies to change things. We went ahead with doing an assessment for our daughter, which had the burden of being expensive, but the results were priceless. Mazolla conducted testing with our daughter which analyzed and provided in-depth information about how she thinks, her intellectual strengths and weaknesses, her social strengths and weaknesses, and her view of the world, herself, and her family. Mazolla integrated recent psychological testing, literature and analysis to help us understand the results and even wrote a story personalized to my child to help her understand some of the meaning of the results. I now have an understanding of my daughter which I could not have gained through years of studying or analysis or more accurately parenting trial and error. My daughter and I are closer because of it. I understand her more and can give her love and structure the way she needs it. Mazolla also was smart enough to look beyond our daughter and analyzed our family structures for ways that could help the family. She spent extra time when needed and treated our family with compassion and intellectual intrigue. And Dr. Mazolla's goal is to get us out of her office and out into life, she wants us to learn the tools to not need her which shows her kindness and compassion as a therapist.
