For whatever reason, I'd been having a hard time going to the bathroom. Maybe once every other day…read more For the record, I am an active runner, I walk my dog two hours a day, I'm not overweight, not sedentary, don't smoke or drink. I tried everything you can think of: warm lemon water with honey and ginger, warm prune juice, cold prune juice, room temperature prune juice, prunes (anywhere between 6 and 20 YES TWENTY), ginger, asparagus, apples, bananas, gummy probiotics, smooth move tea, milk of magnesia. Nothing worked except for once when I had TWO smooth move tea bags in one cup I did go quite a bit the next morning, but I really didn't want to have to rely on having two smooth move tea bags every day. So I felt a bit desperate coming to Pure Colonics for the first time, which I honestly just found on Yelp. I was nervous it wouldn't work just like all the other things that hadn't. I met with Gayatri who was so nice, calming, and easy-going. I'd had colonics before where they just leave you in the room alone to fend for yourself but this is not like that. Gayatri was with me the whole time, massaging my stomach and giving me all sorts of great advice on nutrition, diet, mental health, even finance. She gave me book recommendations, acted almost like a therapist (in a good way that was welcoming), and I left there with a bunch of good info. Obviously it's more expensive than smooth move tea, but I think it was a good bang for my buck. In the five days since my colonic, I've gone once OR TWICE (!) a day, which is crazy for me. I'm down two pounds. I feel lighter. The only thing I've changed about my diet is that I've upped my fruit intake during the early part of the day, but other than that, I think it was the colonic that got things moving again. This is a nice, clean, well-run place where I can tell they truly care. And IT WORKS. Thank you Pure Colonics, and thank you everyone for reading this long post about my pooping.

Everyone I interacted with was incredibly kind, attentive, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and clearly held to a high standard. It's obvious the team takes real pride in what they do. Out of all the clinics I've researched or visited in the city, this one stands out as the best -- the combination of expertise, care, and genuine warmth from the staff is hard to find elsewhere. I'd highly recommend Therapy NYC to anyone looking for a top-notch, professional colonic clinic in NYC. Five stars +++ all around!

Best Colonics Ever!…read more I've been getting colonics for over 20 years, and the best have been from Cassie Karopkin. I've been seeing her for about 10 years now. Cassie has a deep knowledge of the digestive system, vegan diet, and overall wellness. Her Chelsea studio is comfortable, clean, and peaceful. I've recommended many friends who are new to colon therapy, and they always feel at ease with Cassie's warm, friendly approach. She's genuinely curious about mind-body wellness herself and loves sharing her favorite podcasts, health books, vegan spots and wellness travel experiences, in case her clients want to explore those areas of interest too. The sense of community she creates -- sharing a lifestyle that nourishes mind, body, and spirit -- is what Cassie exudes, and it's contagious. I highly suggest you book a consultation with Cassie, have a chat about the benefits of colon therapy ,get a recommendation for her favorite vegan spots or possibly your next wellness adventure vacation spot and get hooked on your next best addiction! It's what happened to me and my partner Germain. Your body will thank you. No doubt in my mind , Colonics are the best health, wellness and youth serum secret!

Donna, Your comment to my review is further proof of your lack of professionalism! The story was…read morenot changing. I was unaware of the medical emergency I was going to have at the time of our call. I felt a stomach cramp at the time I called and asked to reschedule, and it was something I planned to address in doc appts on Tuesday & Wednesday. Once confirmed, I wanted to reschedule the colonic to prioritize those appointments, since a cramp isn't a medical emergency but it was unpleasant. From your comment, it sounds in order for you to have shown compassion/flexibility, you needed every detail of my doctors appts, which I don't understand. Your tone when I asked to reschedule, even when it was shy of an hour's difference from the cancellation period, was abrupt and unprofessional. I wish I'd said then that I couldn't make it, but a stomach cramp is a common enough period/GI symptom I was hoping could resolve (and be addressed more holistically with my doctors the following days). I was unaware of the severity of what would then be a kidney infection until the time I chose to go to the ER. Again, a belly cramp isn't an alarming symptom on its own, nor something I thought indicative of relating to my kidney, but vomiting later was. I called that night as a courtesy, with the hope you'd hear it early am and inform the therapist before setting up. Also, I can still think and write a review with a kidney infection, especially after getting the medical treatment I needed to focus on rather than making it to a colonic appt. Your comments trying to diminish the validity of my emergency are untrue and show further lack of compassion. I left the review because people should know about your inflexibility/lack of compassion. I have been to Gravity twice before which constitutes a relationship, contrary to what you posted, and I asked about rescheduling (rather than canceling) on that call because I wanted to keep the relationship. Again, it was a (barely) 3 vs 2 hr time difference for cancellation, and would've been enough time to disclose to the therapist they wouldn't have to come in. Your manner on that phone call was abrupt and rude. That's another thing people should know before booking. Good luck to YOU in the future when conducting business this way, including the lengthy/over-share responses you leave to negative reviews. I hope they serve as further proof of your lack of professionalism to prospective clients - it should've to me.

Just stop your search and book with Joanna at The Well Bodyworks. Seriously…read more I've been a client of Joanna's for years (and have been too lazy to review), and she's simply the best massage therapist you can find. Every session is a little different because she actually listens and tailors everything to what you need that day. She's super professional, always on time, and knows exactly what she's doing--but also manages to make you feel totally comfortable the minute you walk in. She's incredibly skilled and intuitive (somehow always finds the exact right spot), but she's also just a great human--warm, kind, and easy to talk to (or not if you're the silent type). Her energy is calm and grounding, and the whole experience reflects that. She remembers details, checks in, and just makes you sure the treatment is right for you. If you want someone who's great at what they do and genuinely cares, Joanna's the one.

Fast forward to now, I am under her care again, collaborating on some post-menopausal symptoms, where my body has been signaling some discomforts and been needing to address them before they edge towards chronic condition. Dr. Aliceia once again has me on a strict 12-week protocol, (I'm on week 3) which includes acupuncture and customized herbs, dietary changes targeted towards my body's specific needs. My energy levels have improved, my sleep is getting better- again this is only week 3- I am experiencing improvements and am grateful. As thorough and detailed her visits can be, she schedules in a way that patients wait no longer than 10 minutes at most. I HIGHLY recommend her! You'll truly be in the best of care in her practice.
