Food-N-Fun is still on Manhattan but winds up being a hidden gem because it's tucked behind the Best Buy and on the opposite end of Manhattan from the high traffic. Every time I've gone to Food-N-Fun it's been extremely clean and I've never had to wait for a pump. The inside is also well-kept with nice cashiers. I obviously love that it's a hidden gem but I never understand why more people don't just take the 30 second detour and use this gas station instead.

3/5 airrrr y'all…read moreknow i get my gas at costco, so why does this shell matter? because it's relatively close to my apartment and offers water and air...or rather sells water and air. i dunno why there is charge for those basic things here. so for $1.50 (which, when was the last time you paid $1.50 for AIR?), you have like maybe 5 minutes (maybe less?) of time where the air machine lets you inflate your tires. if you lack quarters, you can break change inside the tiny store. otherwise, it's at a convenient intersection and that's pretty much all there is to note.

Because it is one of the few stations in the area, and it is conveniently located. I guess there isn't much else to say, but what good would a two sentence review be? There is a small convenience store attached to this station. It has the typical items, but the real reason I come is to get gas. I've found it easiest to enter this station when traveling down Magazine in an Uptown direction, but entering from Jackson works well too. If you're in the area and need gas, check out this Shell.

Apparently, for some time, persons with Chevron credit cards are getting charged normal credit card…read moreprices, rather than the cash price as advertised. The station is aware of the issue and called Chevron according to the attendant inside. They have not even attempted to alert their customers they are paying more. Are they hoping we don't notice? It works because I just happened to be looking at the pump this time to notice the price did not change. I normally trust it but not anymore! This is dishonest and false advertisement if you know of the issue and have not alerted customers. How long has this been going on? I have decided to stop using this location even though closest to my home because I simply cannot trust them any longer. They are lucky I still gave them 2 stars. Everyone, please look at the pump and check pricing!

The memory in question was about a catfish poboy wherein I ordered it and the cashier washed her hands, dredged a fresh catfish filet through an egg wash and cornmeal, prepped the roll, and voila! It was heavenly. 12+ years later, the menu only said "fish" poboy sandwich. If you're a catfish purist like myself, that's a red flag, so I went with the fried chicken. My wife ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich despite the geographical incongruity. Both were outstanding, and I can't recommend the kitchen enough.

On our road trip back from NYC to LA, the only place we stopped at in New Orleans was this spot again. It can't top the time we got it fresh, but if there's anywhere you have to stop by in New Orleans, I gotta say it's this unassuming gas station with the most gas fried chicken.
