After attending the Nomtoc parade, we were on the hunt for a good spot to grab some food and ended up at V&T Food Store. The menu is huge with tons of options, so there's definitely something for everyone. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I decided to try the Shrimp Pasta. Unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite -- it was a little too lemony for my taste and the sauce was pretty watery. It just didn't have that rich, creamy texture I was expecting. My friend and her husband ordered the Hot Sausage Po' Boys, and those looked much better! I've also seen a lot of reviews raving about their Fried Chicken Wings, so that's definitely what I'll be trying next time. Don't let the outside fool you! This place has the best fried wings in the West Bank! They always make their wings fresh and on the spot. The taste of the wings had a good combo of juiciness and crunchiness. Not to mention, the food here is so greatly priced. This is a great place to grab a tasty and inexpensive meal. I chose the 10 piece with fries for $4.99. It hit the spot and was delicious. There are many choices to choose from. The clerks and kitchen staff were efficient and friendly. When we got  there, it was a semi long line. The portions were extreme and the food was delicious! We stopped for breakfast on the way out of NOLA and it was amazing. Everything we had we enjoyed! Thank you! Stopped by after work to get 2 smothered okra plates at the Gretna location. Normally, I go to the Keys on Louisiana Avenue, which has always been great! By the time I got home, the red sauce seeped to the bottom because it was so watered down. I called the store, and the manager said he sold 400 plates and had no complaints, so he couldn't help me. Never again. I'll stick to the New Orleans location. read more

I've been driving past this place since I've moved to the wesbank for almost a year now and for some reason today was my first day noticing this gas station that had advertisements of selling Po-Boys and Hot plates here. So i mention to the boyfriend that we should try it out. After looking on yelp and no poboy pictures were shown, I was a little hesitant calling in an order for take out but I did anyway. The boyfriend got the Philly cheesesteak and I got the shrimp poboy with one large order of fries (total of $18). He loved his Philly cheesesteak and I tried a bite. It was full of mouth watering flavor. He was definitely satisfied. The shrimp poboy was good also. The shrimp weren't that big but that weren't cheap with the amount they put in there. The seasoning was perfect for both. Bread was soft! And the amount of fries for $2.89 was a steal! I can't say what the inside looked like because the boyfriend went in to pick it up. He said it's just a typical gas station that serves food but everything is made to order. So good thing we called our ordered in. Lady seem polite on the phone but I wish she had mention we could have had a free Poboy when we order two. That's what was advertised on the new menu. We'll definitely be ordering there more often and try out others on the menu. read more

I was visiting from Connecticut this past week for Wrestlemania and my boyfriend stopped here for a bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll. I guess in the South, you guys so biscuits. I will admit as a NYC girl at heart, when I saw the biscuit instead, it was a turn off at first. AMAZING!!! I had to have it again!! This morning, my boyfriend told the ladies about how I loved it and we needed one more before we embarked on our journey back to Connecticut.
