I had reserved a party bus for my wedding in Ames on July 9th. I called them the night before to…read moreconfirm the bus. They never showed. When I sent them an email - Steve Casteel talked down to me and said that I gave them the wrong address and never told them the location of the church. Wrong address - The address I gave was what I found on the church website but google maps directed them out of the way. Google obviously failed them here because if they looked around they would notice that they weren't anywhere near the number address of the church (2622 vs 5910 lincoln way). I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if I were the driver in this situation, knowing that I was looking for a church and directed to this area I would have called someone to get to the bottom of this. I never got a call from them. Finally in the same email Steve said that no where in the contract or emails did I mention the name of the church. Well, how is it my fault that the contract doesn't have a line for "what's the name of the place we're picking you up from?" Thank goodness I talked them into not charging me but I would never recommend them to anyone. I know for a fact a friend of my brother also had a terrible experience with them when organizing a bar crawl and wanted to use their services. That's why I called the night before to ensure that they were coming. They fail.

We booked a Christmas Light tour for our family and were so excited to have all 16 together in one…read morevehicle to see the lights. When asked about the ride, we were given two options between an older bus and a newer one. So we chose the newer one. When the driver arrived, before we took off, I asked if we could play Christmas music and the driver told me I could Bluetooth to the stereo which would have been perfect. We could not Bluetooth- the driver did not know how to do it, and couldn't add a device so we listened to the radio Christmas channel and all the ads and commercials. When I came time to look at lights, all of the windows were fogged over. The driver gave us a towel to wipe down our windows but as soon as you would wipe, they were covered in condensation again. There was one towel for all the windows- which after Wiping down the first two large windows, was soaked- and didn't do much for the rest of the windows on the bus. In 2.5 hours we made three stops to look at lights. We love the beaverdale area, but the driver only went down one street instead of both. The rest of the time we were driving the whole time on the interstate or down back roads through neighborhoods that did not have lights. We were very disappointed- we wanted to play fun songs to get the kids excited between stops, and expected more lights/stops. For the money spent (not at all cheap) we all walked away feeling very disappointed and looking for a different way to do this next year. I would never spend the money again with this company for the Christmas Lights Tour.

Luxxor was able to give me a decent price, and the driver Joe was excellent. He was early, had the car nice and pre-heated for me (an important thing to do on a cold Iowa morning!), offered to stop and get me coffee and got me to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The car was clean, well maintained and he had water waiting, as well. I appreciate the easy process to request the quote on line and the ability to accommodate such an early last minute pickup time.

We did everything on our part to make sure we had everything set up, and even had email confirmation that we were on their schedule. No follow up, no call, no show! We called more than 10 times from 4 different numbers the day of, sent texts, and nothing! We are double checking that we haven't been charged as we never received services. I not only don't recommend using the company now, but discourage others from having this same experience. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. They are always on time and very professional, and our clients love them. We have used other transportation companies in the past and none of them come anywhere near the service levels that Chauffeurs of Distinction provides. Their vehicles are immaculate, comfortable and safe.

This review is shamefully late, but I HAVE to write it anyway because of how amazing this company…read moreis! We used CoD for our wedding, because our venue was about 20 minutes from the hotel block/city center where most of our guests were and we wanted to make sure people could have an amazing time at our reception without being in danger on the drive home :) I called a few months out and spoke with Gretchen (I think?) who could not have been more lovely and helpful. She helped me figure out exactly the vehicle timing and arrangement I needed to provide shuttle service for our guests before and after the ceremony and reception, as well as for my husband and I to get to our hotel at the end of the night! They truly think of every detail, down to color coordinating the paper napkins in each limo to your event colors and providing my husband and I with complimentary champagne at the end of the evening. She was highly communicative with the follow-ups and additional questions I had leading up to our wedding day, and it took SUCH a load off my mind knowing that someone as detail-oriented and customer service-oriented as Gretchen and her team were working with us. I know our guests (especially the out-of-towners) really appreciated the ease with which they got around that day...and I'm sorry a year late for our silly friends playing "Zombie" by The Cranberries pretty much the whole way back to the hotel at the end of the night lol! But truly the cap on the great experience was our driver after the party was over (whose name escapes me but I think he is actually Gretchen's husband and a co-owner of the company...Aaron, maybe?). This is the gentleman who drove my husband and I back to Des Moines after all our guests had left, and he was so polite and lovely and congratulatory, and offered to drive our belongings to our hotel for us while we went out for a late night bite post-reception! Overall, this company really does go above and beyond, for incredibly reasonable prices, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Not to mention the back of the bus was more or less a ticking time bomb. There were more extension cords and open bottles of chemicals than your local hardware store. I felt like I was walking into my coffin, only to be buried alive. It's probably a blessing that our driver decided to leave us, stealing our beers and pursues. If you're looking for reliable, trust worthy party bus look elsewhere. This definitely isn't the company.

Whoever is driving for this company (potentially the owner?) is a very unsafe driver! We were…read moretrying to turn into a major street from Ashby and he proceeded to turn with a oversized bus. He almost hit us. We had all we could do to just inch our way out. When we called to complain we got "Clay" on the phone who after I was trying to talk hung up on me. It makes me think he may have been the one driving the bus, which if that is the case it is also unsafe. If nothing else it shows a lack of professionalism. There are a lot of party bus options in Des Moines, so stay away from this one.
