I now see Dr Costabile, my husband sees him and my son who is mentally challenged sees him. We were all once Dr. Lawler's patients. I never thought we would find someone as good, kind and caring as Dr. Lawler. We had our first visit. I was immediately impressed. I never saw Dr Costabile before that that day.. I was amazed at how he was aware of my health history, listened to me and my concerns. He must have reviewed my complete medical files. He talks as if he had known me and been my Dr for years! He never hesitates when he thinks I need an x-ray or MRI or anything extra. As I said, my son is mentally challenged. At times he can be a bit much. He doesn't like change but he was very comfortable with Dr Costabile. He is very good with him very empathetic and understanding. I would highly recommend Dr Costabile to anyone. I had thought that if I didn't like the new doctor, I would switch to someone near where I live, we used to live in KOP. We now live in Lansdale so it's a little drive for us however , I was so impressed with Dr Costabile. We decided to stay with him. The ride is well worth it. I can't say enough about how wonderful Dr Costabile is. I so appreciate his professionalism knowledge and kindness. Also the staff there is amazing. Very welcoming and helpful!

In 2007-2008, I was treated for Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the Cancer Center of Paoli Hospital (my…read moreoncologist being Dr. Christine Szarka). While I don't think anyone will find cancer a "wonderful experience", the doctors and staff of Paoli Cancer Center make it as good as it could be for the seven months I was treated there. First, the doctors. Dr. Szarka, trained at Fox Chase Cancer Center, gives off a schoolteacher vibe - Not the mean teacher, but the friendly, scholarly one. You feel comfortable asking questions, and you are confident with the answers you get. Face it - You're trusting your life with your oncologist. If you don't trust them, find another. The nursing staff is also outstanding. During those seven months, I had treatment every two weeks, at the center for about six hours a pop. The nurses would hang out with you (in between rounds), and it was just nice to get your mind off things. Naturally, they were also technically outstanding, but its always nice to having people you can relate to as well. The facilities were also good. The Cancer Center had its own infusion room, with each area having its own TV, and wifi access. Hey, you're sitting there for six hours, you get bored :) While I hope you never have to visit a cancer center, if you find yourself in our survivor club, I can say that you will be hard-pressed to find one better than Paoli's.
