I now see Dr Costabile, my husband sees him and my son who is mentally challenged sees him. We were all once Dr. Lawler's patients. I never thought we would find someone as good, kind and caring as Dr. Lawler. We had our first visit. I was immediately impressed. I never saw Dr Costabile before that that day.. I was amazed at how he was aware of my health history, listened to me and my concerns. He must have reviewed my complete medical files. He talks as if he had known me and been my Dr for years! He never hesitates when he thinks I need an x-ray or MRI or anything extra. As I said, my son is mentally challenged. At times he can be a bit much. He doesn't like change but he was very comfortable with Dr Costabile. He is very good with him very empathetic and understanding. I would highly recommend Dr Costabile to anyone. I had thought that if I didn't like the new doctor, I would switch to someone near where I live, we used to live in KOP. We now live in Lansdale so it's a little drive for us however , I was so impressed with Dr Costabile. We decided to stay with him. The ride is well worth it. I can't think of a single negative thing about her. She's very personable and friendly. She knows what she's doing. Great with children and parents. Followed me through my entire childhood (and then some) and knows a lot about me. She remembers where I go to school, what my aspirations are, what my family life is like, what my extra curricular activities are, etc. She remembers my health issues and the meds that I take. It really is impressive that she can talk about these things on the top of her head and not have to watch her struggle to catch up and read through my medical file. She asks a lot of questions and I feel completely comfortable telling her everything because she's not judgmental and she's definitely there to help. She makes herself available by phone in the mornings and you can make same day sick appointments. I've always been taken care of... no horror stories. And she knows a lot of specialists to refer you to if you have something really specific you need to be seen for. Also, other things might be that parking is very easy, the office is very clean and new, she has other doctors in the practice with her to take care of you if she's on a break, and her nurses and secretaries are very friendly. When I was younger, there…read moreweren't many endocrinologists in this area, and I didn't connect with them well, (aka without serious issues with their practice), so he took on the burden of being my type 1 diabetes endo and my primary care doctor. If you name it, he's probably examined me for it or treated it. Now that technology has evolved (aka Symlin), he's referred me to another endo in this area, but prior to that, he was always up on the latest type 1 diabetes treatments, asking me if I wanted a pump again (I still don't... those things gave me the worst skin infections ever) and making sure I had access to the supplies I needed. He's a very kind, sympathetic doctor. There should be more like him.

I stopped in the office to schedule my mtg with the PA I selected only to be told we are no longer patients abs Wouks I like to be on the waitlist which would be about a year . I asked what about my BP medication, I'll run out before I find a Dr. the receptionist told me "try a minute clinic ". I spoke with the office manager who clarified the medication question, she said the receptionist gave me misinformation and I could get enough meds to last until I saw my new Dr. , the office never called in the prescription.

When I was finally able to reach some one with the authority to reschedule me I was told the best they could do would be 12/24 or 12/26. Three months after my original appointment was cancelled!!!!!! BTW...my husband was able to see the same doc I had been scheduled with...he told her of my experience...she denied that she had cancelled any appointments and had not had any family emergency that kept her from work. She promised she would look into it. I am so deeply concerned and saddened by the change in management . This had been a top of the line practice since it opened. No longer true.

Penn medicine Corporate has hired an outside organization to set up an 'Access Center'…read more The phone AI restricts your reason for calls to make appointments or change appointments only. the operators have no idea how to handle your call otherwise. Tried to refill a prescription, did not understand what that was. Why are you calling? because Penn Med at VF does not accept calls from Drug stores, mail order drugs, etc. Silence. These people do not know ANYTHING about you or Penn's policies. Their equipment is so bad you can barely hear them. They put you on hold, you can hear them answer other calls, and put THEM on hold. Be prepared for a long wait for calls to be answered: 50 minutes. If you set up a call back, it is ignored. It's a shame to put this here, since this is Pennmed Corporate. But as a corporation, rest assured Penn medicine is making sure that profits are #1 and does not care one bit if you find another doctor.
