I had a good experience with Dr. Costabile for about a year, but one day when I was sick, I called to make an appointment with him and was told I couldn't see him because he wasn't my doctor. The receptionist said my "doctor" was a physician's assistant. I explained that I'd been seeing Dr. Costabile, but she said she couldn't schedule me with him. After several months, they offered a new young doctor and I saw him for a little over a year. Today, I called to schedule my annual physical and was told the new doctor was leaving the practice and I should call back in a month to see if they had hired someone else. The receptionist quickly gave me the names and numbers of two other practices. It seems Devon Familiy Practice doesn't want to keep their patients and is actively trying to unload some of us, so I'm looking for a new practice.

I can't think of a single negative thing about her. She's very personable and friendly. She knows what she's doing. Great with children and parents. Followed me through my entire childhood (and then some) and knows a lot about me. She remembers where I go to school, what my aspirations are, what my family life is like, what my extra curricular activities are, etc. She remembers my health issues and the meds that I take. It really is impressive that she can talk about these things on the top of her head and not have to watch her struggle to catch up and read through my medical file. She asks a lot of questions and I feel completely comfortable telling her everything because she's not judgmental and she's definitely there to help. She makes herself available by phone in the mornings and you can make same day sick appointments. I've always been taken care of... no horror stories. And she knows a lot of specialists to refer you to if you have something really specific you need to be seen for. Also, other things might be that parking is very easy, the office is very clean and new, she has other doctors in the practice with her to take care of you if she's on a break, and her nurses and secretaries are very friendly. When I was younger, there…read moreweren't many endocrinologists in this area, and I didn't connect with them well, (aka without serious issues with their practice), so he took on the burden of being my type 1 diabetes endo and my primary care doctor. If you name it, he's probably examined me for it or treated it. Now that technology has evolved (aka Symlin), he's referred me to another endo in this area, but prior to that, he was always up on the latest type 1 diabetes treatments, asking me if I wanted a pump again (I still don't... those things gave me the worst skin infections ever) and making sure I had access to the supplies I needed. He's a very kind, sympathetic doctor. There should be more like him.

We tried contacting the office countless times to select our new Physicians Assistant, we were always in a long queue and often disconnected when they closed the office for lunch. I stopped in the office to schedule my mtg with the PA I selected only to be told we are no longer patients abs Wouks I like to be on the waitlist which would be about a year . I asked what about my BP medication, I'll run out before I find a Dr. the receptionist told me "try a minute clinic ". I spoke with the office manager who clarified the medication question, she said the receptionist gave me misinformation and I could get enough meds to last until I saw my new Dr. , the office never called in the prescription.

Call center cancelled my appointment the morning of via text message, Reason: Dr. had family emergency. When I was finally able to reach some one with the authority to reschedule me I was told the best they could do would be 12/24 or 12/26. Three months after my original appointment was cancelled!!!!!! BTW...my husband was able to see the same doc I had been scheduled with...he told her of my experience...she denied that she had cancelled any appointments and had not had any family emergency that kept her from work. She promised she would look into it. I am so deeply concerned and saddened by the change in management . This had been a top of the line practice since it opened. No longer true.
